Will not order online from this company again. The return process is a nightmare. They will not cover return shipping cost for defective products. Completely unresponsive customer service. They won't respond to my messages through their return system or my emails. Guess it's back to ordering from Amazon instead of trying to do the right thing support the smaller company. read more

I raise sheep and am in the middle of lambing season. I have bottle babies that need milk replacer. I ordered a 25# bag of the nutri start lamb and it arrived in perfect condition 24 hours later! Was very pleasantly surprised at the speed of delivery and then on top of that they had sent a handwritten note with it to thank me! We called from our home to the store and asked them if they had a snow blade for a front end loader and they said yes. We drove 100 miles to get the snow blade and when we arrived, the blade was for the rear of the tractor. We then contacted the sales lady that we had talked to and she said she thought it was for the rear of the tractor. We had specifically asked 4 times that it was for a front end loader. Not one salesman working there ever said they were sorry or felt bad they had told us wrong. POOR service. We will never darken their door stop ever again. read more

Don't waist your time at the 10th Ave south store. Just go to the west side. Shoe department has horrible customer service. I have been buying keens for 15 years, 2 pair a year. I love them. Most of the time i buy them from 10th ave S N40. Sometimes i get a pair with factory defect and i know the return policy for keens so i terurn them. I bought a pair of $200 work boots in october and a seam started falling apart in december. Went to the shoe department with the shoes and my receipt and was immediately told theres nothing she can do i have to contact keen. I told her thats not the policy i am familiar with and she insisted thats the policy now. She tried to scurry away but i stayed persistent. As she was putting merch away trying to ignore me i told her i have returned keens before and this is not how the policy works. She responded by saying if i have had to rerurn them before why do i keep on buying them? She finally got a manager and someone with a brain was able to help me with my situation. I got a new pair of boots, straight trade, same value. The rude shoe sales lady talked me out of buying keens from there again so i got a different brand. Keen rep should be real impressed with her. This was the second time it happened to me. The first time i returned a pair i had to argue with girl at the customer service desk to take back my defective shoes. If you have to return shoes there, dont let them run you off, they will try. read more

North 40 Outfitters is outstanding. A while back I decided to try on order on line to see how it worked. I ordered several items which then offered free shipping....which was nice. I was amazed, because I placed the order on line around 2:00 pm on Friday. And what I ordered was in my mailbox the very next morning. I'd was greatly impressed and absolutely don't think it possible to do any better. So I got to support a local business, saved a bunch of time and money. They have a great store with great products at a very reasonable price and I'd highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Went to North 40 to look at a particular handgun today. The gun sales guy was generally, courteous and knowledgeable, however, he kept walking away after showing me a pistol and returning it to the display case. I had a few questions about the gun, but it was difficult to discuss my questions with him when he would walk off each time he should me a gun. (I was comparing a few different models for grip fit, weight etc.) (The gun department was not busy and there was an additional salesman there to help other customers.) Eventually, we became engaged in a conversation about the gun and I got my questions answered. EXCEPT: when he was demonstrating some of the features of the pistol, he pointed the end of the barrel at me several times - specifically towards my head. Yes, I was certain that the gun wasn't loaded, but that's not the point. In practice, one should never point a gun at someone - even if you are absolutely certain that it's unloaded. It was fairly nu-nerving and I almost said something to him -- but I figured that I'd let it go and just never buy a gun from North 40 Outfitters. The other thing I was a bit put-off by, was that he was doing more taking about his vast experience shooting handguns and essentially questioned why I was interested in a particular pistol caliber and not another one that he likes better. The first rule of selling, is not to make your customer feel like they are making a wrong decision. If a customer is interested in a product that you have for sale, then sell him that one - but don't confuse the issue by questioning the wisdom of his choice. (I think a lot of gun guys do this because they think their personal preferences are the best.) So, I'll not forget that I had a gun pointed at me be a supposedly experienced gun salesman at North 40 Outfitters. Won't be going back. read more

Great quality merchandise and great service. My only gripe is that I always get lost there with the aisles at weird angles.

My mom and I went to North 40 today looking for a specific flashlight. We were greeted near the front of the store by Ashley. She asked if she could help us find something. We explained what we were looking for and she said they were in the electrical section, pointed us in the right direction, and said someone would be back there to help us. We went to the electrical section and explained to a worker what we were looking for and he said that particular flashlight had recently been moved to the front of the store. He began to lead us back up to the front of the store and on our way, we saw Ashley carrying the flashlights trying to find us because she had just noticed they were actually up front. I couldn't believe the excellent customer demonstrated to us! All the staff is really friendly, but Ashley really impressed me today. On top of the excellent customer service today, they also had really good food samples out today in honor of the Cat/Griz game. Yummy! Can't wait to go back to North 40. read more

Online sales is horrible. No communication. Cancelled my order, four days after they charged my debit card. Still haven't received a refund. Reason they gave for cancelling the order was they didn't have the item in inventory. I guess they still do inventory monthly on an Excel spreadsheet. read more

Many of their products are still reasonably priced and I appreciate that. However when it comes to the products that relate to automotive, well those prices have continued to fail to stay competitive. I would prefer to buy from a brick and mortar store however when the prices are not even remotely reasonable, they miss out. read more

This is a great store. I say this not only because I work there and LOVE it, but also because everyone that comes in leaves with a smile and 99.9% of the time exactly what they were looking for. Our managers/corporate people have done an amazing job to staff knowledgeable people in each department, as well as stock the store with things that the average joe needs - whether it's on the ranch or in your closet. I will never be going back to that store. While I was in there shopping today I noticed that some management members were talking bad about other employees on the floor .I did not think this was professional and anyway I've noticed this for the past couple weeks that a lot of the employees are unhappy because how they are being treated.
