Went to Tom Black's to find a rim and other items. The manager of the place told me that he had…read moresome rims but wanted to sell only the set of four. I also inquired about some 1959 Ford parts. I found the old dented sun baked parts and was quoted a price of $95. I have done business with this company for years and years and was given the opportunity to make an offer for the old sun beaten parts in the place, so I made an offer according to my assessment of the condition and age of the items and the cost and time it would take to restore them. The manager began a rant in which he stated that people around here want to get the parts for nothing. He said he would rather do business on the internet than to sell to local people. I stated that people around here don't make a lot of money but they try to do business with local merchants even for the condition they find them. Local people are not rich, they are regular people trying to make a living, just like him. I told him that I have done business with Tom Black over the years and made some good deals and some not so good deals but dealt with him all the same. He went on another rant about having taken Tom Black's out of the red and he wasn't about to put him back into it for anybody. I happen to know that people who take cars to them do not charge much for them or they give them to him and he is trying to get rich off of one sale. I would not recommend Tom Blacks to anyone, local or new in town and I know many people in this town who work on cars. DO NOT USE TOM BLACK'S USE THE INTERNET. That's what he does. I had to fight with them to get them to pay the return shipping, when they finally relented and I returned the engine they refused to give my money back, $2700. They claim the engine was damaged during shipping back to their yard, but never sent any pictures or other proof of this damage. I did send them pictures of the shipping damage when I received the engine and they simply brushed me off. They offered me to pay only $800 for nothing, at this point they already had the engine back at their yard. Most likely to recover the cost of shipping back an engine that was bad in the first place. From here you can make up your own mind if you want to gamble with this company. TL;DR: They sold me a bad engine and wouldn't refund the money after I returned it.
