She answered all of my questions with patience and helped ease my nerves. Unfortunately, my experience changed dramatically once Dr. Patel came in. His approach was judgmental, dismissive, and unprofessional. I was made to feel inadequate simply because I did not know the difference between certain types of x-rays. I had already taken the time to confirm everything with my insurance company before this appointment, but even if there was miscommunication, there is no reason for a patient to be spoken to with such negativity. What was most telling is that another employee felt the need to apologize to me afterward. That alone speaks volumes. As a result, I canceled the appointments I had scheduled for my children later in the day because I would not subject them to that type of treatment. It is disheartening to have such an experience, especially after working up the courage to return to dental care following previous negative experiences. While the hygienist was excellent, I cannot in good conscience recommend this practice under Dr. Patel's care. I will be seeking a new dental office in the area.

So I went for my dental cleaning and it went well and I was feeling good about it, then the Dentist came in and told me I would have to go to a dentist over in Augusta that could sedate me. she said they didn't have enough sedation in that office for me..... so I found a really nice dental office in Augusta that does sedation dentistry and the dentist said i didn't need sedation that I did fine without it and she said I was the best patien they have. I'm so happy now and looking forward to going back. I guess thanks to Shirer dental I have found a really good Dentist.
