My husband and I both are new patients to the North Atlanta Primary Care/Southeast Medical Group. We had complete physical exams today with Dr. Tharani Sundararajan. We found Dr. Sundararajan to be thorough, highly knowledgeable and very caring. She took the time to talk and listen to us. She asked all the right questions and ordered the appropriate blood work and follow-up care. She was genuinely caring and explained everything clearly and made us feel well-cared for. The clinic was also well run despite a lot of patients. We were seen within about half an hour and every staff member was very nice, friendly and professional, from the check in to the medical assistant and phlebotomist. I had one of the worst experiences with this family practice. I woke up with a fever, body aches, and feeling absolutely miserable, so I called to ask about walk-ins. They told me they take walk-ins from 7:30-8:30 AM. I rushed to get ready, dragged myself out of bed despite feeling awful, and drove there. I arrived at 8:03 AM--only to be told that the walk-ins were "full" and they weren't accepting any more. Instead, they offered me an appointment in the afternoon. What is the point of advertising walk-in hours if you're going to cut them off after just a handful of patients? Walk-in should mean you can walk in and be seen during that posted time frame--especially if you arrive 30 minutes before the cutoff. Otherwise, don't call it walk-in. If you're poorly staffed or can't handle it, then shorten the walk-in hours or don't offer them at all. It is rude and unacceptable to make sick people drive there only to turn them away at the door. People go to walk-in because they need to be seen quickly and can't wait. Driving there sick, with a fever, only to be refused was frustrating, disorganized, and frankly the final straw. This isn't the first bad experience I've had here, but it keeps getting worse. The office is unorganized and inconsistent. If you're actually sick and hoping to be seen quickly, don't waste your time with this practice. read more

They just care about billing and money period. NO one can tell me about their refill policies but refuse to give me more than a 3 month refill. why? because they want their office visit billing code for me to say " I need a refill" I asked for a refill and was told ""you can find someone else who will do that" without a care in the world. The doctors and nurses here are fantastic--professional, caring, and attentive. BUT the way this practice is managed and the billing is handled is absolutely atrocious and feels intentionally deceitful. Looks like it is a common theme among some of the other reviews that has been left here. I went in for a routine annual physical that should have been 100% covered by my insurance. I made it crystal clear to both the nurse and doctor that I did not want any services outside of the standard physical to avoid extra charges. Despite this, I later received a bill for $70.80. When I questioned it, I was told it was due to an "MHT questionnaire" I filled out as part of the check-in process. There was zero indication that this would result in additional fees, nor was I asked for consent to start with! By the way this questionnaire was presented as a way to facilitate the check-in process so I did it. To be charged for it afterward, without warning, was incredibly misleading and feels like a trap. This isn't an isolated issue either. Last year, my husband faced the exact same problem; he was charged extra for his physical, but after he questioned it, the charges were reversed. However, this time, they refused to reverse the charges for me, indicating that they're aware of these "extra" charges and have been sneakily applying them to customers, seemingly as a revenue tactic. To make matters worse, I received zero support when I reached out for clarification. My further emails and calls to the billing department went ignored. Even though my husband and I both had our physicals on the same day, I was charged for this "extra service" while he wasn't. This inconsistency, lack of transparency, and unwillingness to address the issue is appalling. Be very careful here. This practice seems to trap patients into unexpected charges by asking leading questions or having them complete "routine" questionnaires, which end up incurring extra fees. Apparently, NAPC is not above doing this, and it feels like a tactic that more medical practices are adopting these days. So, be cautious when answering questions during your annual physical- Don't answer anything if they ask you if you want to refill prescriptions, or ask how your day was (seriously, it's a question regarding to depression). A simple question could lead to a charge without you even realizing it. It is both comical and sad at how this practice could be run the way it is. read more

PAC Cartwright did an exam on me and had me do bloodwork to check for prostate cancer. It's been over two weeks now. I've left four message and a email to them requesting my test results. No response they don't care about their patients ever since southeast medical bought them out. It's sad they'll take your co-pay and bill insurance to get what they want but could care a less about their patients. read more

Sitting here in the little room for 25min after my scheduled appointment. Appointment was only supposed to be a 15min follow up. This was actually a reschedule from where my original doctor had to cancel and reschedule a prior appointment. I went for my first Medicare Wellness appointment in Feb. 2024 was when the nightmare started, I had 3 different ladies to start the visit- One of them attempted to take my B/P which was done ALL wrong. When the doctor finally came in, she was mad that none of three had done an EKG- finally that was done, the doctor came back in said everything ok - I did ask for one of medication to be increased, doctor said she would send to my pharmacy. I got my Mammo order which I had completed BUT it took over a month for NAPC to get the results- which was a horrible wait time since I am high risk breast cancer... After that ordeal I made my mind up that NAPC was not for me due to ALL the ineptness. I got a bill in March - called them they could NOT explain what it was for- I paid under the assumption that would be the end of contact with NAPC-- BUT NOOOOOOO- I got a statement in the mail December 2024, for $200 and something dollars - after numerous calls I spoke with a guy in billing he said I was over 200 days in the rears and I should pay because I was going to turned to collections after numerous other calls I finally got through to a different person, she said she would send it to the supervisor of billing ---NOTHING happened THEN after a moth the practice manger called and got my story , she stated that my bill was coded wrong and she would call me back in 48 hours NOOOOOOO 2 weeks now she has not returned my call - Gosh I hope she is OK? NOW I need to here from Mr. Eric Lisle about the whole situation...I am waiting! read more

Probably tired of getting crap from screwing over people. I last visited in Nov 2017...I paid my bill completely. June 2018...I'm reported to credit bureau. They write a letter stating The account is deleted and thankfully it's removed. Here we are Dec 2018...I never received a bill and haven't been there since Nov 2017....yet get an alert on my credit report that I'm in collections. How is this possible? I ask them when they sent a bill notifying that I had a balance considering I hadn't been there since Nov 2017....the lady tells me that "I have an attitude and she will terminate the call" ....btw SHE NEVER ACTUALLY TOLD ME WHEN THEY MAILED OR NOTIFIED I HAD A BALANCE. I'm perplexed about how I even have a balance when just 6 months ago I was given a written letter than I have no balance!!!! The office management is horrible. Started using NAPC years ago as it was convenient to work. Ok for a long time, they were taken over by Southeast Medical Group a couple years back. Since then, it's been a revolving door for doctors and staff. Billing could be handled better and more accurately by a 6th grader. Payments processed but not credited to accounts, billing for consultations never done sent to Medicare. Billing for medical records forms which are completed by patient. Now they have a 3rd party reviewing medical records and attempting to schedule tests without Doctor involvement. Prescriptions randomly sent to wrong pharmacy. Notice sent to Medicare that I wasn't not filling my prescriptions, as their records were so screwed up, I had to get my prescription record from my pharmacy for Medicare. They suffered a data breach in Feb 24, I knew about it as my monitoring service notified me in June. They notified my wife in Sept. I got my notice in Jan 25. Final straw my appt card has the phone number of Northside Hospital instead of their office number. I found this out when I called to cancel my appt. read more

Show up early, wait an hour to get into the exam room only to wait another hour for your doctor. Treatment is acceptable. Meets the expectations. The doctors are under staffed, forcing their medical treatment to fall short, and the patients to suffer for it. Billing is some of the worst I have ever experienced. The patient portal does not shake hands with billing. So you receive late notices in the mail, even though the patient portal says you are not over due. They are aware of the problem but choose to admire the issue rather than resolve it. If this is how they manage billing, it's not a shock that their medical services are nothing to rave about. New to the area and needed to see a physician. Using the insurance carriers website I found this place was close to my home. I made an appointment. Anytime you visit an office for the first time, you know there is paperwork to fill out. My appointment was for 2pm. I arrived at 1:35. At 2:20 I hadn't been called back! Terrible experience. I have been going there for 6 years and have never had a doctor tell me he already handled 3 things and I would have to make another appointment. Dr Aaman is looking out for the profit line I guess. 8n addition he booked the wrong physical therapy location of which he was aware the one I wanted. Sent prescription to wrong l9cation. Listed two issues wrong on my profile. Starting Wednesday, I have now 2 days later left 5 messages for Sara Cox who has not returned My phone call. Prescription debt will not call me back and they won't cancel a virtual appointment over phone which means if they don't call me back they will bill me for not showing up for appointment. I know they are overwhelmed- but if even their own phone representative says that the front desk at the Cumming location habitually doesn't answer the phone- you have serious problems (which I've experienced personally several times and even people picking up and hanging up on the phone to end the call). Dr Okoro is a wonderful Dr. I was in a bit of a desperate medical situation and she was kind enough to fit me in to an early morning appointment at her practice to get me the test I needed to diagnose a rather serious issues that required immediate medication and trratement. I work in healthcare management and have worked for insurance companies for many years. In all of this time, I have never encountered a healthcare practice with billing practices as overtly unethical and shady as North Atlanta Primary Care. Besides the very obvious (and often mentioned in other complaints as I now see) issues of billing both insurance and patient (as a "self pay account") for what should have been a fully covered preventative visit, they do not have anyone within their billing office willing to accept or return phone calls to discuss. You will be sent to a voicemail that tells you to email, but you will not receive responses. I am highly disturbed with this experience and will be filing further complaints against this practice. I would strongly encourage you to not fall victim to the quick appointments. Though that is nice, it is definitely not worth it in the long run. read more

Dr Kara Harris is a great doctor, but this office is not easy to work with. In three weeks, i have had two Prescriptions not get phoned in, resulting in multiple trips to the pharmacy hoping that it was actually done. Then I have had a order for a CT scan that was not written to the full extent it should've been and as a result I had to sit at the imaging office for hours waiting on the order and the approval through my insurance only to find out that I couldn't get it done and would have to come back later. Several months later I saw another physician at this office, who also forgot to phone in a prescription that she told me would be sent over to my pharmacy. I had to email through the patient portal and wait several days for a reply that she was sending it over. Physicians are great but it seems like the prescriptions and referral/orders get handed off to office staff that may not be completing them. read more

Aren't health care providers supposed to be wearing masks? The front desk staff were not wearing masks covering their noses and mouths. One was wearing a mask covering her mouth only. Two were wearing masks under their chins. One had no mask whatsoever. An older blonde woman who might have been the practice manager came out into the patient area with no mask. I've been maintaining social distancing since March, I've stayed home, I've worn a mask the few times I've gone out, and then when I have a health issue, I made the extremely poor decision to go to a doctors' office where it seems health and science and medicine aren't a thing they believe in. My family saw Dr. Bat when this practice first opened. The Johns Creek location is GREAT, but I would highly suggest you avoid the Cumming office. I was double billed at this location. Cumming Location. Make sure you check and double check your billing statements. They billed me for a preventative checkup. Then also billed me for an office/outpatient visit. Same exact day. Same exact appointment. Very shady. It's double dipping. My insurance paid for the visit and now they want me to pay for the exact same visit. The billing department needs some serious help. As unfortunate as it is - considering my family has worked with this primary care group for almost 16 years - I feel compelled to share our negative experience. We have had a gut feeling about the downward spiral the group has seemed to take over the last year or so, but our recent dealings made it obvious to leave the group and search for new medical professionals. In December, my daughter had a series of lab results drawn. She was at NAPC on Monday, again the following day Tuesday, and that Tuesday night, she was in the ER. Two PAs saw her, and both gave her two separate prescriptions: we found out from the ER doctor that neither medicines fit the issues that my daughter was experiencing. Our issue is not that; however. The bottom line is that Stephanie, the PA who originally saw my daughter, refuses to speak to my child about the flagged items in her lab results. Instead, my daughter has been instructed to make an appointment - to pay a fee - to discuss the results. We have never had to do this in the past; if we have a question, the nurse answers the question. Twice last week, the receptionist called my daughter to answer questions about a BLOOD LAB result. Twice she told my daughter that she was unable to provide any information. Then, on Friday, the office manager called to see how she should could help. Repeatedly, my daughter said that she simply had a question about two of the indicators and annotations on the report, and that all she wanted was a two-minute phone call with Stephanie. Once again, she was refused. We realize that in today's world, patients are merely numbers. We are without faces. But, after being with this practice for so many years, a simple phone call would have been appreciated. The kicker is that when I called to talk to a manager today, Avery, one of the receptionists, apparently didn't like what I had to say, so she HUNG UP on me. Yet another example of professionalism. Used to be a good care provider. Steve Horne PA-C was excellent. Since he retired a few years ago... and since the health provider moved to the new facility, things have taken a nosedive. They used to pride themselves in timely efficient service...no longer. Every appointment is hour(s) wait past your scheduled time. They continually apologize for the delays making every excuse in the book. Fact is, people live on schedules, take time off work for appts and NAPC does not care. I am forced to go find another doctor. Too bad, I have been about a 16+ year patient but must move along. My BP and anxiety can no longer handle it. read more

I made the choice to leave this practice and take my entire family with me. The wait times are awful. The medical assistants and nurses are rude and I don't think they know how to even smile. When you finally get to a room they enter information in the computer without even looking at you once. They leave you in the room for in average 20+ minutes without even checking back to let you know what's going on as to why the wait is so long. If you call you absolutely cannot speak with anyone and you will not get a return call the same day. Just a horrible place. I wouldn't recommend anyone go there. read more

I really liked Dr. Harris. She spent so much time with me and I thought she was very detailed during our first meeting. However the follow up has been terrible. I would not recommend this practice. The care you receive here is just average. The wait times are out of control. Worst in Cumming and Alpharetta. Better in Johns Creek. You will easily wait an hour in the waiting room before you are called and then wait another 20 mins on the exam room before you see a doctor. They never apologize for it either.
