Rebecca was wonderful and so was the rest of the staff. During my first IVF cycle I had a lot of symptoms and lethargy but during my second cycle with acupuncture, I had very few to no symptoms. This made the second cycle super easy and relaxing. I started one month before beginning my second cycle and continued throughout the cycle as per the acupuncture protocol. After just one or two sessions with Rebecca I already felt more balanced and even a bit younger in my body. When I started IVF drugs and as they began to become more intense acupuncture kept my body feeling balanced. I hardly noticed the drugs at all which was a huge difference from the first cycle. During the first cycle I gained 15 lbs and this cycle I lost 10 lbs, thankfully. Besides making the process easier on my body and mind it was great having someone to talk to who knew what I was going through. Rebecca asked detailed questions and had answers for my questions about what could be going on in my body. It was like having a good friend to talk to who had gone through what I was going through. Once I had my embryo transfer and did the acupuncture protocol for that part of the procedure I was satisfied that I'd done all I could to become pregnant. While I was enduring the 2ww I had an appointment and it helped me to relax, detox and feel like I could do something more to make things happen. Then when I found out I was pregnant, I continued through my first trimester. At this stage acupuncture helped ensure that my uterus got the blood supply it needed to hold on to the embryos. I could actually feel the difference when she put a crown of needles at the top of my head. Acupuncture and other forms of body work have another benefit besides the local and systematic benefits, they force us to lay still and relax for 30-45 minutes. Relaxation is so key to having a successful IVF cycle. Rebecca has music or meditations you can listen to. I usually listened to an IVF meditation for the stage of the cycle I was in. I think overall the reason I produced 21 eggs the second cycle vs 6 eggs the first cycle, and am now pregnant with twins is because I chose to include acupuncture in my treatment.

Yes, we have a…read moremasseuse that comes by the office and does 15 minute hair massages, but that had been the extent of my massage experience. Since I've been pregnant, I've developed some back and shoulder tension as well as headaches and decided it was probably time I give this whole massage thing a real try. Side note: I am not a fan of people touching me (Most notably strangers) and especially as a pregnant person. Orchid made me feel very comfortable from the beginning. My masseuse, Jennifer, was very communicative. She asked me questions and provided recommendations and techniques I can do on my own. It helped my headaches almost immediately and I find a lot of value in my monthly visits. They specialize in a variety of women focused issues from fertility through post-partum and offer additional services (Of which I have yet to try) including acupuncture, reiki, herbal medicine, etc. The prices are reasonable and the service is great. It's tucked away in a calm Bay View neighborhood, parking is never an issue and it just adds to the calming effects of your treatment. I would highly recommend Orchid for first timers as well as people with special needs or requirements.

I'm a sufferer of chronic headaches/migraines. I went to a million doctors, had a billion…read morescans/x-rays and then had even more wrong guesses as to why I get headaches. So I gave up on traditional medicine (which is funny for me to say, acupuncture is absolutely traditional, all depends on where you come from) and decided to see Robin Anderson at A&OMS. I saw her over the course of weeks and months and to my absolute amazement, she made me feel way better. It took some work and it was a weekly need for me, I had lived with a headache for 15 years of my life, so the time needed did not surprise me. It, very unfortunately, got too expensive for me (my health insurance sucks and does not cover it, despite the fact I work for an insurance company), but after about 3 months of weekly visits I had a good 6 months of relief, something I didn't ever get prior to seeing her. I still try and go here and there, but my insurance still doesn't cover it so I can't go anywhere near as much as I want. I am needle paranoid, but she's perfectly gentle with hers. She gave me massages that made me want to cry then and there, but the relief afterwards was so worth it. The office is nice and really comfy, Robin is great and personable. I always got the feeling that she actually cared which isn't something you can expect in any sort of medical experience anymore. If money were no object, or my insurance covered this, I'd still be there every week without fail. For people who are at their wits end with some sort of pain, you need to go here. When all the pills, doctors and scans add up, and you still don't have any relief, Robin is probably going to help you, I know she did that for me. And she did it in spades.

But no itchy itch afterwards. Acupuncture needles are not pointy or hollow and are about as thin as a strand of hair. See, mosquito sized. And you're a Wisconsinite, gosh darn it you are well experienced with mosquitoes! So no need to be worried about needles. If I can do it anyone can, just ask my accupuncture practitioner. Milwaukee Community Acupuncture operates on a pay what you can fee structure, with a fee scale ranging from $15-40 a treatment. They also have punch cards. Dude. Dude, I love punch cards. Pay for 10 treatments and get 11 sessions. Yep. There is complementary Rishi tea. Yep. The setting itself is incredibly relaxing. Soft music, white noise machines, plants. No exam tables, but recliners and blankets. Even little eye mask pillow thingies. Acupuncture here is done in one large space. You'll stay clothed. Take your shoes and socks off, roll your pants up a few inches and have your arms accessable. No peep shows going on here. They just put all these needles in me, now what? You'll get really relaxed. Some people fall asleep. Your worries become lighter and distant. You'll get to rest for around 40-60 minutes. I suggest that you come in for accupuncture when you're not pressed for time as you'll get much more relaxed. They offer easy online scheduling and have appointments seven days a week and evening appointments during the weekdays. Maybe you're having a bad day like I did today, then you can just hop online and schedule a same day appointment which are often easily available. Acupuncture etiquette: Speak softly throughout the space so as to allow for a restful environment. Refrain from wearing strong smelling perfumes etc so as to allow for a restful environment. Milwaukee Community Acupuncture also has many other health services onsite including yoga, massage, reiki, chiropractic, cupping, and more. Many of these services are also on a sliding fee scale. Affordable yoga! I love Milwaukee Community Acupuncture.

In 2020 I began experiencing a rash, became allergic to numerous things and it went down from there. I had been involved with exotic animals with a news story we did and suspected possibly a link due to that. I went to to Mayo and was told I was Delusional and it went down from there. That label gave Western Medicine a pass to treat you due to knowing they had you in a corner. Two years into this and I got here where they did a Molecular Pathology Report and indeed I did have two strains of fungus and Dermatophyte pathogens. Why was this test not ever used for Western Medicine and those who are being denied treatment for what they choose to call Morgellons? This test would be a simple fix. It led me to begin investigating the process ...and I discovered the coverup with the CDC. Interesting that the Dr. who labeled me was also one who wrote for the CDC about Morgellons. Here...I have gotten more information in 3 months than I have had in 3 years. They just completed a GI microbial Assay map which takes stool samples and extensively studies them. I received a 3 page read out on my insides and am loaded with two separate bacterias that could very well have been the original cause of my rash. Yet not one Dr. ever did that? Hmmmm.....always got generic overnight studies and when things came back as "probably this..." there was never any follow-up to see if it was possible that it wasn't that. Western doctors have never allowed me to go on my gut instincts. Here Jessica got it figured it and although I have a long road...I have a start. All the antibiotics Western Med throws at you are solely to line their pockets. During the course of 2 years I have become antibiotic resistant to so much that I'm assuming my bacteria issue is from the resistance and robbery of good bacteria. Keep in mind here they will assign essential pharmacy meds if needed. They just balance the needs based on individuals.. They cover every base with medical options and are right up there with the Western field with technology that is used there. I would love to see more of this and applaud the healing center for giving me not just hope...but acknowledging me as a living, breathing human being who has people who depend on her life. That part will be addressed when this is over...but this facility came into my life for a reason .It actually gives me hope again..

(At regular or western doctor visits through the decades, there was nothing to be done other than my being assigned 3 physical therapy appointments along with Ibuprofen at each incident, yielding MONTHS of pain and little help...) Within several MINUTES with Dr. Zhou, WITH THE PLACEMENT OF A SINGLE NEEDLE, he dropped my shoulder pain levels from 10+ to a 1 or 2, and told me what I suffered from was 'frozen shoulder'!! It was nothing short of amazing! I have never been able to get a diagnosis on this, my pain dropped immediately, and he knew EXACTLY what the problem was. I'm way out of balance as I favor and use my right arm for everything, and seldom use my left arm and shoulder. I have never done activities like golf because that I am terrified of re-igniting this painful injury. I have since continued Dr. Zhou's very effective treatments, techniques, and advice to roll back the decades-long list of damage to my shoulder muscles and tendons - to help get my strength back, and help restore proper shoulder functioning. I feel like him and his sessions are truly healing me. Dr. Zhou shows compassion and concern, and it feels like he is 'my' doctor. Dr. Zhou is also very warm and funny. This review allows me to give him up to 5 stars, but I give him 100 stars!! His office staff and massage people are also super nice, friendly, and clearly exceptionally trained. Everyone who needs medical help should consider Dr. Zhou!
