I had the best experience with North Coast Appliance! I just moved to Humboldt and needed a washing machine, dryer and refrigerator. I was happy there was a local business to provide these things rather than having to use a big box store. From the minute I entered the showroom, I was greeted by Derrick (I think?) and he was informative and very cordial. I was able to browse the showroom appliances and get a feel for what I wanted. EVERYONE I encountered in the showroom was friendly, helpful and informative. Since the refrigerator I wanted was not in stock, they ordered it for me and in the meantime they provided me with a loaner fridge that they delivered at the same time they brought my new washer and dryer. I'm sorry I don't remember the names of all the people who helped me in the showroom. Today my new refrigerator was delivered by Nick and Evan. They called me when they were five minutes out. They were friendly and professional. They were extremely careful to be mindful of the walls and cabinetry. They removed the loaner fridge without spilling a drop of water in the house! Evan made certain to bleed the water line to expel sediments before hooking up the waterline to the icemaker. They were extremely careful about placing the counter depth refrigerator correctly, removing every spec of packaging, and inspecting every inch carefully when they were finished. It was in stock, to be delivered in 6 days. There was a typo of my phone number. When they didn't show, i called and the delivery date was three more days out. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience here. I called twice to confirm the cost of a dishwasher installation. The first time, a woman quoted me $199. The second time, a man gave me the same quote, and I even asked specifically if the price would be the same if I purchased the dishwasher from Costco--he said yes. So I went ahead and bought the dishwasher from Costco, only to call back today and be told the install would be $299. When I expressed confusion, the woman put a manager on the line who confirmed the new price--no explanation, just "that's the price." I was shocked. If I had known it would be $100 more, I would have just bought the dishwasher directly from them to avoid the hassle. I had been trying to support a local business, but this left a really bad impression. The manager took my info and said the owner would call me back, but I didn't feel like waiting around. I called Ken Fleck Plumbing instead, and he immediately quoted me $199 and even said he could come over today. Disappointed, frustrated, and moving on. read more

We heard about North Coast Appliance from a friend today and were happily surprised to find they were open on Sunday. We went in looking for a new gas range and were presented with all kinds of options. The showroom is large, clean and welcoming. The salesman, Josh was not at all pushy and gave us so much information. The prices were good so we settled on a stove. They will deliver and install it this Thursday! We had such a good experience that we may go back for a washer and dryer also. I'm happy to find a good local, fair minded appliance store. If you are in need of new appliances, then Northcoast Appliances is the place for you! My partner and I recently moved back to the north coast from Sacramento. As you can guess in Sacramento there are a myriad of choices, but up in Humboldt County the choices can be a little more limited. Northcoast appliances came recommended to us. I first use them to replace a stove in one of my rentals. It was before Thanksgiving, and they actually got it in time for my tenants to be able to use the stove for Thanksgiving! As I've gotten used to my home in Eureka, it became necessary to replace my dishwasher and my range. Jessica did a great job in promptly emailing me my choices. I chose a Frigidaire dishwasher, and with Jessica's recommendation, with a third rack which I absolutely adore! I also chose the NRX gas range. I cannot tell you how over the moon I am with the products. The installation process was absolutely wonderful! The delivery guys did a very thorough job. I was really impressed with the time they took, and the respect for my home! Overall, I give them five stars! This is a business that is family owned and local! Horrible customer service. They sold us a piece of garbage dishwasher that's broken after only four months and then said we should sell it to some other loser in order to recoup our $591.98. I strongly believe we were sold a broken, used dishwasher as new. Sucks for us but I'd rather be stuck with it then cheat someone else. It's not how we should treat people. We recently purchased our free standing stove, microwave, and dishwasher. Our place is out in Shelter Cove, so just popping in was not an option. Jessica, and Northcoast Appliance made our buying process quick and easy. She was very responsive, sent over loads of great options, got our order placed and delivery and install all set up. The day of installation the guys called to let us know they were on their way. About two hours later (it's a drive) they showed up, got the old appliances removed, even with nonstandard hidden fixtures, and got the new appliances installed. We purchased a new LG washer and dryer from North Coast appliances a few months ago. My Mom and my older brother had good experiences with LX, and we wanted to step it up a little from our previous washer/dryer. I prefer to buy local when I can and it makes sense. I could have saved a hundred on the $2400 purchase/installation cost but we got it more quickly (important to us) and delivery/installation was excellent. I have bought used appliances over the years too, and easily fixed our previous washer and a washer prior to that. However, my wife loves the additional features we never had before.
