I've never done PT before, but after coming here, everyone needs PT! Dr. Mike Cannady is amazing along with the staff. He's my current PT but because I've come here frequently I feel like I've gotten to know the other PT's. I'm not ready to graduate from PT yet but I know it will be bittersweet because from the aides to the office staff and the PTs they've made the experience amazing! Also staff is great at squeezing patients in when there's cancellations so I'm always on call standby and they are great at remembering if you have time slot limitations, such as I work until 2pm so I can make any appointments after that. read more

Updated review: Their billing office tried to defraud us. Sadly our wonderful PT left and apparently this place has gone downhill. Billing doesn't know what its doing and has apparently manipulated some bills to show "unpaid", never sent them to us in the mail, and then sent us to collections, in an attempt to extort money from us. I would consider going elsewhere if I were you. EDIT: The business owner is lying in his comment below. We have an invoice showing a zero balance. And when we were sent to collections they "miraculously" came up with another invoice that they never sent us showing a "balance due". This is a violation of the debt collection practices act and could land these people in hot water. Too bad the owner doesn't take his accounting practices seriously. read more

I first went to North Coast PT after a reverse shoulder replacement, and Chris O'Connell did a fabulous job with my exercises--even other doctors have been impressed with my mobility. I returned to North Coast after a knee replacement in the spring, and Brent Kobs had been added to the staff after Chris moved. Brent was equally skilled and had me doing things with my new knee it took me months to achieve with my first knee replacement 15 years before. Another great thing about North Coast other than the quality of their personnel is their care model--you are assigned to one PT who sticks with you from start to finish. I went to another PT place in Oceanside for my shoulder, and for every visit you got anyone who was available for that particular session--even high school students who were seeing if they wanted to study physical therapy in college and didn't know what they were doing to the point that one young girl told me to do something that could have injured my shoulder. All I can say is if you need PT for any reason, I recommend you put North Coast at the top of your list. read more

I had to cancel an appointment the day of and was not told there was a $50 no show fee. They sent me two letters within less than a month and this one was particularly messed up. The Happy Holidays stamp on the envelope is something else... Also it's only the second envelope and it's already the final notice. That's... aggressive. This was the one and only time I had to cancel an appointment the day of and yes I did call. It wasn't just a no show. My back still hurts but I won't be coming back. This is just too underhanded. It's a shame because I came here 8 years ago and was treated a lot better than I was this time. I would have been fine paying it if one, I had been made aware, and two, they didn't do this weird passive aggressive holiday stamp thing. Some people are struggling, especially during the holidays and this is so not cool. ----- Edit: since I got a response and the stamp is not their fault I'll add a star. Still not pleased with the attitude that everyone should have read the agreement. I think it's unrealistic to expect everyone to read or retain all the information on a medical form, of which many of us have signed so so many at this point. I've only ever been to one other place with a no show/late fee. For me, it's not like it's a common occurrence I should know about. Also, unless there was another initial letter that got lost, I only received two letters within 2-3 weeks from each other and the second was the final notice. Again, not enough time. read more

PT was recommended for a lower back problem, and I requested to go to NC PT. I have been a few times over the years, and, to me, there is no better place. The front desk is managed by Elianna, who is absolutely phenomenal! She not only makes every client feel comfortable, she has an in-depth knowledge of all of the therapists, and works with you on a schedule of treatment that works for you. "Jen" joins her at the front desk, and is also very caring and kind in her interaction with each patient. You are made to feel very special, which in light of the fact you are 'hurting' when you get there, is indeed comforting. These girls are on the "A" team!!!! Each of the therapists bring value to the patient, but as I work with Katie Skvarna, (also on the "A" team), I find her to be proficient, knowledgeable, professional, and absolutely GREAT in her plans for therapy. My Audio laryngologist sent me to North Coast PT for a recent problem. I was met with an exceptional front office professional, Tiffany, who greets patients, schedules PT, and answers phones all with amazing proficiency and a can't beat attitude. My physical therapist Lauren is the very best I've worked with, and I've worked with quite a few physical therapist through the years to know the difference. Lauren is extremely knowledgeable and has designed a program that's put me on a path showing improvement after only a few weeks of working together. Review for all mamas! I had my second baby 5 months ago with a repeat c section and knew I wanted to go to pelvic floor pt after birth. I HIGHLY recommend Emily for all your pelvic floor needs! I did my research and looked for a physical therapist that would focus on c section scar massage along with core strengthening. She is very knowledgeable and is providing even more support than I was looking for. The office is clean, friendly and allows you to bring your baby for your appointments. She is so patient and always allows me to involve the baby if needed (my baby Ofcourse never napped during my appointments). Claire is the other pelvic floor physical therapist at north coast and she is great as well- super knowledgeable and very friendly! If you are looking for top quality physical therapy in North County, you cannot beat this office. As a patient who has continuing arthritic conditions, I found the original small office in Carlsbad in the early 2000s. Regardless of the clinic's growth, the owners' vision has remained the same over the past 20 years ~~ providing the best one-on-one care for each individual patient's entire treatment. I no longer remember how many times I have been treated here. That's not a negative reflection on the clinic ~~ I just happen to have a lot of osteoarthritis, and it has affected various parts of my frame over the years. Now I am back again, after both back surgery and knee replacement surgery. I have been working with Ali Ghavami for the past 9 or 10 months, first for rehab of the knee and most recently for sciatica. Like every physical therapist at this office, he is well trained and equipped with the latest knowledge of standard of care. He is personable and professional, compassionate, and he always leads with hope and help. He is attentive, observant, encouraging, insightful as well as humorous. Each therapist here treats the whole person, not just a body part. Perhaps the quality I have come to appreciate most about Ali is his kindness. I have really needed that a time or ten! Dealing with a chronic orthopedic condition can get depressing, and Ali always helps me to find my way to a better physical and mental place. Highly recommend North Coast Physical Therapy. I have never been treated with so much care at any other medical related facility. For me the results after two months have been dramatic and life changing. Ariana, the therapist I have worked with is intuitive, kind, thoughtful, well educated and listens to my concerns . She is like a detective solving my unique set of issues. All of the staff have been equally knowledgeable, kind and caring. There is a feeling that they work as a team. Two years ago my wife used the services of Katie at North Coast Physical Therapy for some health issues. We were so pleased with NCPT that I recently requested my PCP refer me to NCPT for help with my knee and back problems. Ariana has been outstanding. She is very professional, yet personable. She is obviously quite knowledgeable and also knows how to get her points across to me in a way I fully understand. She also is very patient with this old guy. For several months now I have been a client of NCPT. My therapist, Michael C is excellent and very knowledgeable about the physical problems I am currently having; however, I cannot say the same thing about the woman who does the billing. She is rude and an extremely poor listener. For months now she has been harassing me about a balance due on my account. For the record, I am covered both by Medicare ( my primary) and Blue Shield PPO, my secondary. Blue Shield PPO has paid them their portion and states that the patient's responsibility is ZERO. She continues to argue with me about this and claims I still have a balance due. This woman is extremely rude; she interrupted me so many times that I had to shout at her to listen to what I was saying. Perhaps I am the only client who has a Blue Shield PPO account; perhaps she needs to be retrained how to deal with these accounts. I also suggest that she be more polite and stop interrupting me. The only way I was able to get her attention was to shout at her- and that still didn't help. Sad to say, but I doubt that I will continue to use NCPT's services. read more

If I could give a 0 star I would, this location and the San Marcos location are terrible. After countless of incidents here, hearing the workers talk about other patients, the way they treat their patients is terrible. They like to schedule you and tell you the wrong time, they don't send reminders when you tell them to. If you decide to do water therapy wear a full body cover or else they will judge you from your head to your toes. I got judged on not shaving ( I CANT EVEN BEND!) I used to get told to try harder, the people judged me on my shoes and laughed about it, I also got laughed for tan lines, the guy instructors kept staring at my chest and butt when I got out of pool. They never reached out to me like they said they did and I got proof they never did but they want to lie about it. They set me up multiple times and they get paid for it. They're a couple joke! THANK YOU FOR DISCHARGING ME! Ill be reaching out to the board and everything. I was nice and patient and they treated me terrible. The staff is a joke and the manager is too! Water works Carlsbad is their water therapy place and the customers there like to take picture and video of the kids and of myself too! I made complaints everywhere and will continue to do so. read more

Working with North Coast Physical Therapy has been superb. Last year I was suffering from a second bout of a severe left arm pain caused by a nerve issue in my neck. Once I was able to start PT last year North Coast took great care of my rehab. Now, many months later I'm working on regaining strength and confidence. Every staff member has been fantastic and I'm really grateful for all the help I've received. Thankfully my Insurance is such that I'm able to continue therapy this year, just less frequently but I'm doing great now. I have been getting PT at this incredible place for the past 5 weeks. 6 weeks ago I had excruciating pain in my right hip, knee & sciatica! Today I am doing extremely well! Still having some twinges from time to time but actually got around without my cane today! That was a huge difference from 6 weeks ago. My Physical Therapist, Alyessa, has worked wonders with me. But I have worked hard too going to the pool in my Association inbetween PT sessions. I highly recommend this place. The staff is friendly & knowledgable. I'v been going here for 5 weeks now for treatment post-cervical fusion and also to stabilize my lower back. I am very happy with both the facility and my therapist, Aimee Killeen. I only have experience at one other facility where everyone was also nice and well-trained, BUT I spent a fairly small portion of the appointment with my therapist and then was turned over to assistants for most of the exercises. They showed me how to do something then usually walked away while I did, checking on me infrequently. Here at NCPT, all the time is spent one-on-one with your therapist and you are only turned over to an assistant to apply heat/cold and electrical stimulation if applicable. That makes such a big difference. Aimee is great. She is constantly testing different approaches to see what will work best for me. She makes sure I am doing everything properly, keeps my online instructions up-to-date and gives me a print-out also, with any notes she thinks should be added to it. It is a much better experience and I am learning more tools to strengthen my core and move properly. I am so happy I changed to NCPT to complete my therapy. I relied on Yelp and other reviews to select them so wanted to add my own experience here in case it also helps someone else make a decision. read more

Laurie Green is outstanding. I have had great results with Neck, back and shoulder injuries. She evaluates and creates a custom plan including work at the clinic at home and what to avoid. She is the ultimate professional I have used both in the clinic and in the pool. I would rate her a ten out of ten! The entire staff is very competent. As I am in the final series of PT trreatments that I've done in the last year at this place I feel compelled to post a review about my PT care with Katie A. First, let me state that I have had many orthopedic issues since 1990 and have had varies PT's. They've varied from mainly hands off and mediocre to, "meh" ok. I had a good one at Sharp until she could no longer practice. She, however was the highest on the 1 to 10 scale. This last year of PT has put me into the EXTREMELY TALENTED and knowledgable care of Katie A. First of all she and other PT's at this place do not evaluate and immediately pass you on to the aids (or abandon you) to do the exercise. You cannot get by with improper form, etc. Katie is very compassionate and intuitive as to how she needs to deal with me. I need a no nonsense person that answers my questions, explains things well, finds out of the box suggestions if needed. She is also thr best PT i have ever seen that is amazing with doing soft tissue work. I can't say enough about Katie. She is engaged completely from start to finish at every appointment. She is the raised bar as to how PT's should be and would be a great example in training others. She doesn't act like she is just pushing me through to fit in her next appointment. Time is always managed appropriately. Give this woman a promotion! She is a very strong asset to this business and her patients. read more
