I had my first appointment today. From the phone call to schedule to being greeted in the office it was great customer service. They were very thorough and for first time patients did a stress test and x-rays. I have been to other chiropractors and they have not been as thorough. There office was nicely laid out and it was easy to schedule appointments. Pretty pissed!! I feel I got played by a "business" who's only intention is to make money, not having the "health" as their number one priority. I had a motorcycle injury I sustained approximately 4yrs ago.... a compression fracture. I was always skeptical in regards to chiropractors, having heard so many mixed stories, some good and some bad. In my case..... there is nothing "good" to report. My 1st appointment, they made me feel quite positive that they could alleviate my issues. Telling me everything "I" wanted to hear just like a used car salesman. They took X-rays explaining, they feel sure they can fix my issues. In the past several months, my pain in my back has grown quite rampant. Their team said "if you're serious minimizing your pain, we will need to put you on a 6 month program at $350 a month and we will know in 2 months if we need to be more aggressive with a different procedure which will be MORE per month." They are incredible salespersons.... I agreed to the 6 month subscription...... and that's EXACTLY what it is, A SUBSCRIPTION!! I also explained to them that the pain in my back has traveled to the right side of my neck and shoulder..... they said no problem. After going 2 times per week for almost 2 months, my neck was drastically going in the wrong direction as far as pain. I decided to call West Coast and cancel my subscription and seek other alternatives. It wasn't until I talked with a specialist.... his exact words were..... "let me ask, did the chiropractor try and sale you on a subscription?" I answered..... sure did! His response was..... "after seeing your X-rays (the specialist took), West Coast should have NEVER took you on as a patient!" The specialist said, you have absolutely no disc between your L4 and L5. I immediately was at a loss of words..... PISSED!!!! I am now in treatment 2 times a week under a "real doctor" with physical therapy. I am including the X-ray West Coast Chiropractor took in this review..... as you can clearly see, look at all my other discs between my vertebrae..... there is ample space between them.... EXCEPT between my L4 and L5. In closing..... I EFF-ING CAN'T STAND, when people choose money...... over health and that's exactly what happened in my case. They should be ashamed to call this practice..... "doctors." read more

I started coming to Dr. Rupp and his team when I was pregnant and dealing with aches and pains in my back. The team immediately took such great care of me throughout my pregnancy, and helped to alleviate so many of my issues. I was sleeping better, more comfortable walking, and having less headaches. After I gave birth, I immediately knew that my husband and baby also needed to get in to see Dr. Rupp! My husband has found that chiropractic care is not only helping his aches and pains, but he's sleeping better than he has in a long time. I came in with my husband for his nervous system results, and in walks Dr. Rupp--kind, upbeat, and full of warmth. I was 35 weeks pregnant at the time with a scheduled C-section, and when he congratulated me, I mentioned my baby was breech. Without hesitation, Dr. Rupp took a chance on me and started working with me. Just two weeks later, I went in for an ultrasound--and to our surprise and joy, my baby had flipped! To make it even more special, Dr. Rupp personally called after I delivered just to check in and see how we were doing. That kind of care is rare and meant the world to me. Wish I came sooner. My lower back has bothered me for longer than I can remember - something I thought was a result from tight muscles and not stretching after exercise. Turns out it was my lower disk. It has been such a relief since starting and comforting to have a solution to my problem. The quality of care has been exceptional. Per Dr. Rupp's recommendations, I did two 3-month treatment plans for my lower back problem in spring 2022 and my upper back problem in fall 2023. I received xrays for my upper and lower back so I can see why the pain existed, and where was the source of pain. Majority of my spinal problems were resolved when I completed both treatment plans. I recently came back for lower back discomfort due to poor form for lifting heavier object. After 2 adjustments with Dr. Steve, I can finally move my lower back more normally and freely again without discomfort!! I'll be coming back for future adjustments when needed. I was just notified that I didn't finish my review. This is my review for my two sessions in August 2020... I had just moved to the area and found that this highly rated place was convenient for me to get to. I was able to book an appointment with them and they were flexible on dates/times. My first session, not everyone was wearing a mask at the time. If they did, some were wearing the mask under their nose. They took an x-ray and I was told that they would review it on my next session. I had an adjustment done soon after. There person had their mask just under their nose. They shouldn't have even bothered wearing one. The person just did the adjustment without checking to see where my muscles were tight which left me sore. My second session, they went over my x-ray with me and encouraged me to purchase a package for 2-3 session/week for a number of sessions. I've not had a chiropractor in years tell me that I needed to come in that frequently. There were a lot of people in the office. No social distancing with everyone sitting in a semi-circle close to each other. The office did not enforce masking while Covid was peaking. Again, no muscle testing or massage chairs to relax my tight muscles. As the day went on, I was in so much pain and it seemed to progress and I was developing a headache. I called the office and was told to hot and cold packs which didn't help. I was crying and had a hard time moving the next day. I had to go to my old chiropractor's office in Mission Hills to have another adjustment. They told me that they didn't check my muscles and just jumping in to do the adjustment is what caused my pain. It was great that they offered an x-ray and a flexible appointment schedule but there were so many negatives for me that I never went back. read more

It's been about 7 years since I went to this business, but the way I was treated has never left me. I went in because I was having health issues and was hoping a more holistic route was going to be an answer. Being younger and gullible, the first visit was promised with healing and kindness from the "Dr." And his assistant. They do the run of the mill X-rays saying this will show us a lot. At the time, I didnt know basically every office did this. They told me results from the X-ray would be available at my next appt. Being young and anxious to know what the X-ray said, I called the day of my appt because I thought I'd have "answers" like I was told. The secretary passed me on to the Doc, who had been so kind and compassionate the first visit. He answers the phone, I say "hi Dr. This is Kimberly. I was calling because I know my appt is today, but I am anxious to know my results from my X-ray. Do you think you can help me?" (I was desperate for answers). He immediately changes tone with me, and with rage in his voice says "Kimberly, you called me to ask me this? What do you think I'm doing all day? Waiting for you to call? I'm running a business here girl. You need to wait like everyone else for your appointment. Have a nice day." And then he hung up on me and I immediately started crying. Still, being naive and promised so much in the first appt, I went in and even APOLOGIZED for calling him. He shows me the run of the mill neck X-ray, which now, being a medical professional, know that my neck was perfectly fine. He told me buying his chiropractic package was going to solve my health issues, so really not knowing any better I spent the $2500. I went in maybe 4 times. Each time, you lay in a room in front of everyone, and there is no personalization to your session. He does the same maneuvers to everyone. It's all a gimmick. He'll fool you the first session with his facade of kindness and over promises, and laid back persona. It's all just a business assembly line. He does the bare minimum. You get cracked like everyone else and feel good for a couple minutes. He's rude and really doesn't deserve your money. Look elsewhere for another chiropractor who actually cares about his patients. There are good reviews because of incentives to his patients, and because he's pays for higher ranking on yelp as clearly shown when you search this business, and it comes up "sponsored". I'm older now and know better. So shameful to pray on people desperate for help. read more

I decided to go to west coast because of the good reviews. I'm sorry to say my new patient experience Left me feeling part of a smooth, systematic hussle. When I arrive for my first appointment I was kept waiting for 40 minutes as they were very busy. After 30 minutes the assistant took two x-rays. After 40 minutes the doctor came in to see me and told me my neck was very forward causing the numbness in my hands. He proceeded to do a very quick adjustment which compared to other adjustments I have had with other Chiropractors was very quick and seem rushed. When I asked about the x-rays he said I should come back next week at no charge so we could go over them. Next week when I returned I only had to wait 18 minutes this time and then the doctor explained and showed my neck was protruding forward and recommended a treatment program. So nothing new was presented other than I saw the x-ray but I already understood from last week that my neck was protruding forward. After I asked a couple questions he left and the assistant came in to explain the cost. When I asked if I would get adjusted today she said only if I began paying as a doctor doesn't work for free. I expressed disappointment that they made me come back another time to show me my x-rays when this easily could've been done last week especially since they had no plan to adjust me unless I started paying. They didn't appreciate that my time was also valuable but only emphasized that the doctors time for making an adjustment was important. It struck me as a hustle and set up to get me to start the program since I was already there and probably like most people wanted an adjustment. If they had given me the program last week and showed me the x-ray I'm sure I would've just come in for an adjustment and started the program. Feeling manipulated it's was difficult to commit to a Doctor Who'd demonstrated no respect for your time and gave a rushed adjustment and didn't seem to relate to my concerns. If he had volunteer to do an adjustment I probably wouldn't have felt so manipulated but impressed by his concern. While driving home he phoned and said immediately he gave me a chance to ask any questions. I expressed to him that was not my concern as my questions were answered but I felt hustled and there was no need for me to come back for a second appointment without an adjustment . When he kept saying he doesn't work for free I try to convey that My time is as valuable to me as his. I never felt we established common ground or empathy . Also if you're immuno compromised this might not be the place for you since the doctor likes to shake hands, doesn't wear a mask which is the same for his staff. That's a simple recite of all the facts and you can decide what you think. read more
