Club Pilates is a wonderful pilates studio to practice at. The equipment they offer are excellent with the reformer machine offering an extra push when working out. This machine helps target deeper muscles that regular exercising/gym equipment can't do. The inside is clean and has a restroom. The outside studio is breathtaking with fresh air. Club Pilates Carlsbad has been the highlight of my day ( always ) but especially now, during COVID. I am so impressed with how they have been operating during the pandemic. They setup the reformers outside, under an open air canopy. All of the reformers are setup 6-10 feet apart. They have a policy to wear masks until you are at your reformer, and then you may remove it. Everyone gets a temperature check upon entering, and hand sanitizer. You must clean your reformer after using it, after class. They sanitize each reformer multiple times through the day. They really have taken an extraordinary precaution, and are taking great care of keeping the members healthy and safe. I am so thankful for Club Pilates Carlsbad! Also, without COVID...in a normal situation....their studio is inside. It is clean and spacious. Taylor is always happy to great each member into the studio before class. There are so many equipment options. Besides the reformer, each student has their own Exo Chair, Pilates Ball, TRX and Spring Board to use. There are mats, handweights, gliders, blocks, weighted bars, and more for use during classes as well. Each class is about 50 minutes and is an incredible workout mixing strength core, flexibility and stretching. IT is a gentle and low impact workout, but is challenging and absolutely works to define muscles and tone, lean and lengthen your body. There are 3 levels of classes, offering options for beginners all the way to advanced students. The instructors go through a very extensive training, and are always able to help with adjustments, suggestions and modifications based on your personal ability or challenges. I have been a member of Club Pilates since 2011, and I am still learning new moves. I do not get bored, as it is a practice, that takes time to master to the full ability. I love it more and more as the years go on. It is truly a community at Club Pilates, and it feels like a family. Went in for an Intro class. They have a cubby cabinet where people can put their purses, etc in while they're in class. I would suggest keeping wipes by the cubbies so people feel more comfortable sharing cubbies. The teacher that taught the Intro Class asked if anyone had previous injuries or problems that she should be aware of. I told her my back injury from 1.5 yrs ago. Some of the moves I didn't feel comfortable doing, so I did them just a little to my own modification. Everyone is supposed to clean their own equipment after the class. There weren't enough wipes or purell stations in there for my comfort. They also don't give any prices in writing. Not clean enough for me, but a friend suggested another Pilates studio nearby that felt cleaner and I liked better. read more

The idea of joining a Pilates class was intimidating to me at first. I was dealing with bad sciatica pain due to not stretching properly before running, my friend suggested Pilates would work wonders for my back. I was a little hesitant but I'm sure glad I listened to my friend and gave it a try. I LOVE PILATES! After a couple of months of regular work outs 2-3 times a week, I no longer feel pain! I also love the staff, they're super friendly and helpful. I would strongly recommend to anyone that is looking for an effective low impact workout. I no longer wake up with a stiff back and I'm more aware of my posture. Also I just find that, that 50 min work out is so refreshing and good for my mental health, I leave the studio feeling stronger and more relaxed :) read more

One of my favorite places to go to, when I need some ME time. Reserving a class is very easy, you can do it online and a lot of the times, I reserve same day and they have spots open for me to fit some time in, in between work. I love their Reformer class! You can work out while lying down! But you will leave there feeling refreshed, so it's not as easy as you may think. I've been to the Club Pilates in Rancho Bernardo and Del Mar, but I chose this location for convenience and I like it just as the same as the other locations, if not more. I love all the studios in Ariel's possession: Encinitas, Carlsbad and San Marcos. You can interchange between them all- which is a really nice perk. If I don't want to be stuck in traffic on the way home from work, Carlsbad studio it is. It's my day off? San Marcos. That's really awesome! The instructors all rotate between the studios. I arrived 10 minutes early to an 8 AM class to get situated and sign waivers that are usually required for your 1st class, but the studio was locked and nobody was there. The instructor finally arrived a few minutes before class and as I walked into the studio, a funky smell greeted me. The instructor said not to worry it was a lingering smell from an electrical fire. Definitely weird and off putting. Then she passed out wipes in case we wanted to clean the equipment before we started which also was strange. The reason for my 1 star review - they overbooked the class and two of us were rudely kicked out. Three of us had signed up on ClassPass the afternoon prior, but apparently this studio should not be working with ClassPass since the studio does not know how to track the reservations made on ClassPass with the ones made directly with their studio, resulting in overbooking. The instructor said they had this problem last weekend which means this is a reoccurring issue that they have not chosen to deal with in a timely fashion. The instructor said we could stay if there was room but if others arrived late after the workout started, that she would have to kick us out?!? The way that everything was handled was extremely unprofessional. I have been using ClassPass for years and this is the first studio that I've ever had an issue with, which tells me this studio has issues - not ClassPass. I should have known from their sub-par rating on ClassPass not to come here (4.5 stars versus the typical 4.8 or 4.9 that almost every studio has). The instructor/owner could benefit from some customer service training. Finally, this studio is in serious need of a facelift and deep clean. I have gone to other Club Pilates locations and this one is by far the tiredest one I've seen - cramped quarters with reformers squished too close together and that funky smell. -1 - funky smell -1 - overbooking issues 2 weekends in a row -1 - terrible customer service -1 - dark, cramped space in strip mall -1 - worst Pilates studio I've been to read more

I love this location and the people/instructors! I've been to the Club Pilates in Del Mar & Rancho Bernardo & this is my favorite! It's in the Marshalls shopping center off Jefferson closest to Planned Parenthood. I came and took one of the Reformer classes numero uno with Rachel Pena and it was great! She's the best! Sweetest instructor who was kind and helped me out after having not taken classes for a while. She's really comfortable and has a great vibe! Plus the workout really burns! I've been coming to this studio for several years. I absolutely love the studio, instructors, and location right off the Jefferson exit. They have an app to easily book classes and keeps track of total number of classes taken. I have also gone through the 500 hour teacher training, and I'm still loving new workouts and adjustments. Pilates is a workout for life, all ages and body types. It also healed my shoulder after a volleyball injury. I bought a livingsocal coupon because my friend recommended this studio to me. I have been going for nearly a year now. Club Pilates has a very chill environment. There are ocean scenes above your head while you are pumping it on your reformer. I have been to several different teachers classes and all of them are encouraging, helpful, creative, and nonjudgemental. My favorite teachers are Blyth, Janica, and Bri. I have noticed an incredible transformation in my strength, energy level, physique, and posture. I am a night shift nurse and my schedule is opposite so I can only go 1-2 days a week on average but that doesn't seem to matter because my body still has transformed even though I am not at the studio every day. CP has lots of offers through out the year so that you can purchase classes at more affordable rates too. I went to a Christmas event and classes were only $8 a class if purchased that day. I have also been able to email the owner, Ari, for advice and technical help. Ari responds quickly and has a very personable disposition via email. Another wonderful feature of CP is that they do all the scheduling online and you can purchase classes online too. All you have to do is sign up for your classes in advance. They recently made this even easier via the CP app for my Iphone. This means I can be out and about and suddenly decide to join a class last minute from my phone. So neat! CP also seems to attract very nice people that attend classes. I went to a barre studio in La Costa recently and felt like I had stepped onto the set of The Real Housewives of Orange County...everyone was plastic and unfriendly with far too much plastic surgery and Lulu Lemon going on. CP are real people just trying to get back in shape. I highly encourage you to try out CP. There are many locations but my favorite is Carlsbad/Oceanside. Pilates with the reformer is one of the few exercises I've been able to do since having twins where I actually really feel sore in a good way and don't end up limping or tweaking my back after. I feel as though I'm both improving and restoring my body. Make sure to speak up if you feel like anything it wrong, all instructors have helped me both with he actual exercise, props to support my backs and/or alternative moves. Rad! Rad! Rad! Prior to today, I've only done one pilates session and I left feeling addicted and itching to go again. Problem is that most places charge an arm and a leg for pilates instruction. Not Club Pilates. They had a very enticing $7 for your first class offer, so I took advantage of it. Instruction was great. I absolutely love Club Pilates Carlsbad! I am a chubby grandma, and after my first class I was hooked. I had spinal fusion a few years ago that left me with some physical limitations, and the instructors are all so kind and caring. Kate is so wonderful, with her pt background she has so much experience working with rehab patients. She always offers alternative ways to do things so I don't injure myself. I also love attending Blyth's classes. She is so warm and caring, and so good at what she does. I recommend CP Carlsbad to everyone. Since I started I have noticed so many changes with my body, I am much stronger and more confident. I wish I had discovered this studio years ago! read more

Very disappointing. I was another person that signed up through class pass and was denied to attend the class. I think this issue could have been resolved with good customer service but lack thereof made it worse. As many make New Year resolutions, mine is to workout 3x week and two of those come during the weekend. I have 16 month old twin girls and staying on schedule is quite necessary for me. Instructor- Instead of taking the time to explain the situation with regret, she chose deflect the problem at the owner. Lack of customer service skills definitely made the situation frustrating as we couldn't understand what is the studio rules were on being tardy. Is it 5 minutes, 10 minutes or what? Most studios will lock the door as soon as the class starts. We stood around like second class citizens, while there were empty reformers, not knowing what to do. This place is very close to my home and I was planning on joining on regular basis but now will avoid as a plague. read more

Club Pilates Carlsbad cancelled the classes I signed up for in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and has still charged my account $69 for my membership. They are refusing to refund this amount after stating via phone call that they would refund me and cancel my membership. Now, not only are they denying saying that they could refund me, but now they are trying to charge me a $99 cancellation fee which I was not told about when I signed up originally. It's such a shame to have this happen, I was really hoping to continue a life long membership with this company... read more

We live in Vegas but spend a lot of time in Fallbrook. I'm a member of CP Las Vegas wanted to schedule 4 classes in Carlsbad. Reached out via email. Studio was quick to respond. Process was easy. Due to Covid restrictions they were unable to have indoor classes. Kudos to this studio for going the extra mile (and expense) and moving their reformers outside, 6 feet apart, under a 3 sided tent. Privacy and fresh air! Instructors were friendly and well trained. They provided modifications for different challenges and abilities. Were quick to help as needed. Having done Crossfit for years and coming away with lower back issues and a torn rotator cuff, I needed a strength training program to help me heal, strengthen and recoup my figure from the lack of workouts post surgery. I did mat Pilates a few years ago and loved it then. So when the opportunity came up to try Reformer Pilates, I jumped at the chance. I definitely recommend trying out Club Pilates Carlsbad. Although small, the studio and equipment is always clean and you are given plenty of personal space to workout on and around your reformer. Ari, the owner, opens up another amazing studio! I love this one's layout for its great back room that is spacious. The area is setup for clients to store their personal belongings and pick up free weights. At other studios, during transitions between classes, these areas are cramped and can be a major (sorry for my language) cluster fuck. This studio is also located in a great quiet center with easy parking. And of course there are some great instructors.
