Love this cute little park in Lake Steven. It has so much to offer. It has a deck that reaches/extends out to the water. In the summer time, it is great for people who loves to kayak or go for a swim here. You can look into the water and see how clean it is. There is even a small little playground for kids. The playground is very well maintained and clean. Free parking is available. It is nice and relaxing to go for a walk here in the summer time. In the winter time it can be a bit cold.

Hike is pretty steep, constantly uphill for about 3 miles, all in the trees though. Mosquitoes around, bug spray is good. After 3 miles, trail goes down pretty steeply, lake was really pretty, not very cold water! Sat there for a bit to enjoy the water and view, really calming. Didn't see very many people on the trail, had the lake to ourselves. Bad part of the hike is the need to go back uphill after the lake, but it's not too bad. Took 2 hours to get to the lake, 2 hours back, was a bit dark and got a bit cold towards the end of the hike. Hiking poles definitely helped!

We went around 8:00am got at lake around 11:30am, only few small breaks and took 3 hours to come back. When we reached the lake it was mesmerizing. Thinks to remember: 1.Take a lot of water and snacks with you. It is hard hike so stay hydrated. 2. Bug spray if needed we had it but did not use it because bugs were not too bad. 3. Go early to beat the heat and this hike requires $5 day use fee and Northwest forest pass. 4. Since it's not 7.5 miles be ready to do extra 4 miles. Total of 11.5miles This hike was hardest hike for us so far but the view worth the hike. I would highly recommend to go there at lest once in life time. The view is breathtaking!!! Good luck, you will love it.!!

The playground was well-suited for a range of ages, with swings, a see-saw, and even a small climbing wall to keep them entertained. There was plenty of open grass for families to lay out picnic blankets, and a covered area that was bustling with what looked like a birthday party or community event. The park also has solid amenities like tennis courts, a volleyball area, and a basketball court for older kids and adults. I especially enjoyed the shaded walking paths, which offered a nice break from the sun. The one downside was the bathroom. It was in poor condition and definitely could use some upkeep. Parking was available but packed due to the nice weather, so we had to park a short walk away. JY review.

When we did our research, all sources said this was an easy hike, but in our opinion, this was medium difficulty. Make sure to purchase a discover pass for parking, which you can find online. Parking was very limited and we had to park near the edge of a hill. The road to the parking was extremely rocky, so beware of that prior to going. I would suggest to get there early in the morning, as this is a popular hiking destination. Throughout the hike, I noticed that it was a bit difficult to navigate walking through rocks and areas with dirt that was hard to grip. I would highly suggest bringing hiking shoes or shoes with grip or you will struggle going downhill. When we arrived at the lake, it felt like the whole journey was so worth it. Absolutely beautiful view during the end of July with people swimming the lake and gorgeous trees. We stayed at the lake for hours and did not want to leave. This was such a different experience than our usual hikes. The people are also very kind as you get good mornings and people stepping to the side for you to get through. I would highly suggest this hike if you are in Washington for the first time, and in my opinion, be prepared for an easy-medium difficulty hike!
