I was recently in an accident and needed to find a body shop. I don't write many reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience with North East Auto Body. I was very apprehensive about leaving my vehicle with just any shop. From the moment I walked through the door, I knew I was dealing with professionals who genuinely care about their customers. The office was clean and welcoming, and everyone I met was professional, well-presented, and friendly. That means a lot to me. What stood out most was the calm, positive atmosphere. Everyone seemed happy and genuinely enjoyed what they were doing. To me, that says a lot about a business and the people who work there. While reviewing my insurance coverage, we discovered that I didn't have rental car coverage. Stephen and the owner went above and beyond to help me secure a great rate, which relieved a lot of stress during an already difficult time. I'm anxiously awaiting the completion of my vehicle repairs, but based on the service I've received so far, I know it's going to look amazing. Brought my car over to Steve with little bumper damage.. I told Steve only thing I want is the car to match right.. I go to pick it up Ray brought me over to see my car first thing I notice color doesn't match what's Ray do grabs the shop manger he tries to talk me into agreeing that it's fine after I told him nope I'm not taking it he started with the mobster mouth... I go back for 2nd time to pick it up they used touch up paint on fender to hide some marks I noticed... all in all my experience was the worse.. I picked it up this morning Ray had 2 pictures one was from my last accident and one after they painted guy tells me I got this picture from your insurance company I laughed and said did you that's your shop in the back ... that's not all I now have my car being fixed the right way .. and guess what Ray what you got paid to Fix behind the bumper hasn't been fixed... I smell something a little funny here... mind you Steve has been a friend for about 20+ years... just because their a 5 star shop doesn't mean their the best... I took my car here for body work due to a minor fender bender. They gave me a loner car and told me my car would be ready in 2 weeks. The very next day, As I'm parked at a gas station, the valve on the front tire flies off and the tire goes flat. I call them to bail me out and their response was "call AAA". Sheer disrespect, This was their fault because obviously the car wasn't properly inspected. I couldn't change the tire because the spare was locked in place in the trunk and needed a special tool. I was forced to use MY AAA and later they made ME go to Town Fair Tire and wait while the tire was replaced. So far, between being stuck on the side of the road and waiting for TFT was 6 hours lost. But I haven't even began my story yet, So hold on tight. A month later they call me and tell me the timing belt snapped. This should NOT have happened under any circumstances. It makes zero sense! I hang up immediately and my ride picked me up. (Keep in mind it was during a blizzard, So I couldn't drive the loner w the front wheel drive) We get there and sure enough the timing belt is off, and furthermore NO body work has been done yet! Theres about 8 guys all talking over each other and putting blame on one another. Very unprofessional!!! Nothing is making sense at this point so my friend and I go directly to the owner and I tell him politely that the mechanical work needs to be done by my choice of a Volkswagen certified shop, and that they need to pay for the bill. The owner Gary fired back and stated that his people would do it or I could leave his office and bring my car with me! At this point I was forced to do so, and I let him know it better be perfect because my car went in there perfect. My friend intervened and asked Gary exactly how the timing belt could even come off. Gary fired back "Who the F**k are you?" and "Why would you come in my shop with all these tattoos?" then finally states "I did 10 years in the can, I'm not scared of you" My friend and I just looked at each other in shock and total confusion as to why he brought a simple conversation to this level. My friend then stated that the tattoos are irrelevant. He said "I'm a tattoo artist and that he couldn't check his tattoos at the door. He was then kicked out. I was left to finish this process. Steve, the claims person, calms the situation and we all come to an agreement that the work be done free of charge. ONLY if it is done 100% correct. (Steve is the only one I respect there) We leave. For the next 2 months I get the run around about when the car will be done. On several occasions, I pick my car up, take it for a test drive, and it is FAR from satisfactory! Gary informs me on one occasion stating that he bent the valves on the motor. There was banging noises from the engine, the car wouldn't accelerate over 40MPH, and the steering was super tight. (Keep in mind these are only things I felt. Imagine the things were unnoticeable.) Perry, an employee there, claims the banging was caused by a 'wheel cover'. Ha!! That part doesn't exist. Again, They agree to fix it. I get a call a week later from Perry and I inform him I was in the middle of something...He hangs up on me, Then leaves a message saying "I need my loner back, If you don't bring in NOW I'm reporting it stolen" This was the ultimate disrespectful move. I put my pride aside, and like a nice guy, I go to Northeast that very day and test drive my car. Again, It does not feel right! It was clear I had no other option but to take my car and run before it got worse, and just take this to small claims. As I pull into my street, the power steering is 100% not working. I took it down the street to the shop and they replace the pump. That was $220.00 out of my pocket. I get my car inspected by the same shop that inspected it the day before I brought it to Northeast Auto. They inform me that there was 4,000 worth of engine damage. So ultimately I was left with; $4,000 worth of damages to my engine(including power steering) Half done body work which was incomplete. My car smelling like crap. (literally) Dirt all over the interior Broken hood lever and months of lies, disrespect, manipulation, and threats. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. I WOULDN'T WANT TO SEE ANYBODY GO THROUGH WHAT I (WE) WENT THROUGH! read more

My husband was hit recently and our good friend, Lisa Taglione recommended we take his truck right over too North east Auto Body, and that Gary Salzillo, and Johnny Camp, Ray Douglas and staff would take great care of us. Gary certainly has the reputation that he worked so hard for over the years, they all came through, 100 percent!! I understand how insurance companies work now and have a better understanding of what goes on in this industry. We certainly appreciate everything that was done for us. My husbands truck came out in "showroom" condition, for a truck that is several years old. Northeast Auto Body has now moved to 755 Hartford Ave. Johnston RI. All i can say is excellent customer service and excellent work. My wife's car was hit on her drivers side door on her Chevy Spark during a snow storm. They were professional. They took care of the Insurance Company. Did not have rental insurance but they gave me a rental car for no additional cost. I was told it would be done in 1 month. Had my wife's car back in 2 weeks. Looks like new. That was immediately put in a loaner car and called a few times to ensure that I was happy with the car that they lent me. I hope this is the right NorthEast autobody, lol. I keep seeing John Camp's name. I dealt only with Ray. So, anyway, some idiot rear ended my baby. I don't think I can convey how much I love my car. Nobody is allowed to eat, drink, smoke, have pets, or fart in my car. Please ask, I'll pull over. Not even kidding. I wash it every other week, and use weather mats in the winter. So you can imagine how beyond crazy angry I was when another idiot Rhode Islander rear ended me. Stop tailgating and pay attention, especially on an off ramp. Ok, off topic. I work as a private duty nurse. I work 9-5. I have no sick days or personal days, that's it, just me. My rental was dropped off at my work, and my baby was picked up. Gave the poor kid my serious unbreakable rules for driving my car. Poor thing was probably scared crapless when I was done. But that was an amazing service in and of itself. Realizing I can't leave a 24/7 dependent patient alone to handle this. Every time I called Ray he was awesome, with the updates, and honest with me about time, length etc. he even took my car to a certified Hyundai dealership and made sure my smart trunk was functioning properly. (I even learned something about it I didn't know) this is a Hyundai only, brand new feature. You just hang out by your trunk with your fob in your purse for 30 seconds and the trunk magically opens. This is a 2016 Hyundai Sonata limited with every single option known to man. It had less than 10k miles on it! (Who has three garage doors that need opening?) Anyway, when they delivered my car back to me and picked up my loaner, ( above and beyond customer service because of my special circumstances) it looked just like it did when I picked it up from the dealership. They shampooed my rugs, (yes I notice things like that, she's my baby) the car had a detail job, you would pay about $200. Not a speck of dirt inside anywhere. Not even a dead bug on my grill. (Yes I notice things like that) even my tires were treated. All Hyundai certified parts, (yes I checked) and you could not even begin to guess where they painted to, to blend it. I was sent home with a small jar of touch up paint too! Should someone dare park anywhere nearmy car and ding my door. (I'm one of those nut jobs that park waaaaaaay away from humanity and walk.) no dings on my car! So, if I, a complete lunatic when it comes to my car, am satisfied, you can rest assured your car is in good hands. My only complaint was the air freshener. Don't hang things in my car! Lol (like I said a little nutty.) I did not have to talk to, or deal with anything involving insurance at all. They handled all that head ache nightmare baloney for me. THANKS RAY! We have been a customer of North East Auto Body for over 5 years now. They have worked on several cars for us and for our children. North East Auto Body always does a great job. They go out of their way to reduce the stress and difficulty of dealing with the results of a car accident with a safe and dependable loaner car. There was only one situation where they had to inform us that the car was totaled. That's what we expected to hear and we are glad that they told us the truth instead of trying to get the extra work for a car that might never have been safe to drive. I got into an accident that was basically unavoidable. I was able to drive it home from the scene and wasn't sure what to do after. My neighbor told me he had a great experience with North East years prior and told me to call them to see what they could do. I can't thank these guys enough. I got my car back in PRISTINE condition inside and out and to top it all off they let me have a loaner car the entire time mine was in their possession. Kyle, John and Gary all took very care of me along the way. Every time I called to check in on the repair process they picked up and gave me a full explanation of what was going on. Also from what they explained to me, they buy car parts so often that they get discounts from their supplier and passed those savings on to me. My insurance was charging me a $500 deductible and they covered it from what they saved. I really wish there was something else I could say for others to know what a fantastic job these guys do.
