It's 2025, and they still don't take credit or debit? Really? Even more baffling, they can't even look up your eligibility for a free dump pass as a resident . with all the tech and computers around, how is that still an issue? And let's talk about the trash all over our freeways, have you seen the transfer trucks? They are always loosing trash and seem like the main reason our roads are littered so badly. We took a tour of this facility. It's free to the public with an appointment. Casey, our guide, did a great job of explaining how our blue bin garbage gets sorted. The green bin stuff is pretty straightforward but blue bin stuff is first triple checked for non-recyclable stuff before a multi step process of sorting out paper, plastic, glass, etc. Well worth an hour of your time. read more

Our son's class had a field trip here. The guide was nice and gave interesting information. The viewing area that you go through is really cool. It lets you look down over the whole recycling floor. There are huge piles and lots of belts and machinery. There are people sorting. It really showed the kids the process that their recyclables go through. I'm an adult and found it really interesting as well. I'd highly recommend this place for a field trip. read more

I was so nervous after reading the reviews on here. We had a truck load of branches to dump and forgot our bill . With city services you can dump once a month for free. The line was pretty bad, all the way to the street but it only took about 15 minutes to get to the window. Once i got to the front, the very nice lady asked for our city bill. I said we didn't have one and asked it i could give her our account number. With the account number and name, we were able to dump for free. She even gave is a dog treat for our dogs. Whole trip was about 30 minutes! Staff was super friendly! Thank you!!! read more

Jerks! I get to the transfer station at 2:30 on Saturday and wait patiently in line. When I get to the front to pay, he says I have 2 minutes and we close at 3 PM. I paid $80 to dump a few branches. It literally took me five minutes to dump. I want my deposit back! Unbelievable! Poor customer service. It's not complicated! Keep the deposit booth open 30 minutes after eight to keep customers happy! He says, I can come back on Monday! Yeah buddy, I'm going to drive another 25 minutes home, keep a full load and come back on Monday. Great solution, not! read more

Dude it's the dump.... Wait can be long depending on time you go..... Bring your monthly bill and ID if going to use your 1x a month free drop off option. Follow the signs and what the staff says as heavy machinery and others who (probably) go their daily are on the move. read more

Well, what can I say. It's a dump but the staff are very helpful. The gentleman who checked our load was kind enough to let us know if 2 people got out of the truck, the load would be within the right weight to not have to pay an additional fee. Quite nice! If you have little ones that like tonka trucks, this is the place to go. My adult sons were impressed with the size, efficiency, and skill set for driving the big rigs. It's stinky there, but you're there to unload your stuff ( be it branches, drywall, wood, concrete, furniture). The staff will let you know where to drive and back in to dump. Daily a quick process. Make sure you wear sneakers... for protection. read more

I dump at this location multiple times every weekday, if John and Mia are spoting the lines go quick. As for the Gate/Scale guys, the girls work the fastest. Wish they could keep the same people everyday to keep everything quick and consistent. read more

Talk about organization! This place is really awesome! We probably stop in here two or three times a month from demolition work. The staff here are great! The ladies in the weight stations when you pull in are awesome people, and dedicated hard workers! This place is well thought out and organized. They have separate sections for different types of materials they you may be getting rid of. From what I witnessed, it looks at if they are sifting through the trash and separating it in different piles, the. I guess shipping it off to somewhere else? Maybe to be recycled? Pretty cool place, very convenient if you need to make a dump run to get rid of trash or junk. read more

I've been coming here for the last 12 years almost 3-4 times a week and this place is a shit show. I have work to do I don't have time to sit in line for an hour and a half and it takes that long pretty much every time I'm here. They need to send anyone who has dump trucks/trailers to the other weigh in scale. This is ridiculous!! Man, pardon the pun but you just feel dirty going here. Made the hike up the 17 to get rid of some junk. Nob9dy that works here is happy and they act like you are trying to steal something when I am the one bringing my stuff here! Also, it's very easy to miss the turnoff to re-weigh before you leave to get your excess money back. read more

This place is a terrible reflection on the City of Phoenix. They are supposed to open at 5:30 am this morning (Wednesday). It's now 5:40 and there are 40 trucks sitting here. Most of them landscapers who are already facing a very long day and the employees who work apparently don't think it's important to open on time. Name me a business that would operate this way. It's not a hard to understand why city employees get a bad rap. For me I am trying to get rid of some things on the way to work and this is The second time in the last month I've sat here while they opened late. read more

So this station is huge, modern and scary for an average residential user. First of all, they charged me $20 for a small trailer 1/4 loaded with household trash from my move to a new house even though I presented a current water bill due on April 30, 2015. They said even though I had this bill, like the instructions said, I had already moved. Well, my move was within Phoenix and I did not have a bill at the new house yet. (I phoned the City of Phoenix today and they would not credit me $20 on my water bill.) Then, after following the arrows to the dump sites, I saw a worker signaling to me from about a half a block away. He was wearing ear mufflers and I could not communicate with him. There were HUGE front end loaders driving around shoveling trash in the dump-off stalls and I could not figure out their system. I got yelled at twice and finally just parked, unloaded everything together and drove off. I will never go there again, there were nails and broken glass and confusing traffic. I advise making this place more user-friendly for homeowners. It is supposed to be free for one residential use per month, yet I got charged the commercial rate and I had never used it in 7 years of paying my water bill. I was prepared to separate the waste into recyclables, glass, and wood, however, it looks like their system is to just dump it and maybe they separate it later.
