The tour guide Joseph was so kind and full of energy. The video you watch when you get there is a very heart felt explanation of the passion to continue this community. They own 800 acres and the property is built on 20 acres, it was built between 1971-1975 for the main spaces that are shared. 45 people live there but could range to 80. They show how the products and structure are made. I had no clue about silk casts and loved the hands on understanding and history. They have concerts, events, gatherings. Etc at the amphitheater. Check out the website. The cafe is closed. You can stay as a hotel guest overnight. They offer apprenticeship also.

Clearly what the original architect had in mind many years ago never came to fruition as it really hasn't changed in years. Is appears to be a small artist community but we didn't see anything going on at the moment so couldn't tell if it id still active or they make everything south in Scottsdale at Cosanti. There is a gift shop where you can watch a brief video on the history and learn about their wind chime creations. Personally I've received many of the wind chimes over the last 20 years for housewarmings or Christmas gifts. Each is unique. The greeter in the gift shop was friendly and stated there is a tour available as well. We didn't have time for the tour but purchased a couple of small gifts. He suggested visiting the Scottsdale location as well which is called Cosanti. I had no idea it was located in Scott's well. Will check it out.

Beautiful backdrops are everywhere as you walk along the trail with historical fact placards. Several spots with ruins are unmarked and it would be nice to know what we were seeing. But there were also many placards which explained different practices from the time of the ruins. There are also several drawings of what the community would have looked like so it was very informational. Overall a nice stop where natural beauty abounds.

During the stay, the bed and bedding were comfortable and the shared bathroom had a nice shower and some toiletries for us as guests. The area was quiet and the posted quiet hours were nice to see as well. The added bonuses were the llamas and a very nice outdoor cat who came to visit sometimes. After seeing their Jeeps in various downtown parades, I wanted to try Angry Ape, so I jumped at it…read morewhen we were invited to join a private tour! The tour was in mid-April. Destinations were the Mingus Mountains and Cottonwood. It was an all-day tour. We had great weather - not too hot and not too cool. Two Angry Ape jeeps transported part of our group. Owner Tom was one of the drivers. Word to the wise: 5 people do NOT fit comfortably in the Jeeps. It works well for 4 people, 3 plus driver. The 5th person is crammed in the middle of the back seat with zero legroom. Fortunately, we had enough other vehicles to redistribute people, so no one had to be that 5th person for long. I went on a Pink Jeep tour in Sedona a couple of years ago. That was a lot bumpier and scarier than this one. There certainly were bumpy parts to this tour, but none of them scared the heck out of me! A private Jeep in our group had trouble negotiating some of the bumpier areas, but the Angry Ape jeep drivers had no issues. Tom is fun and personable, with lots of stories to tell. He kept us laughing the whole trip. His skill as a driver is very obvious. His worker (unfortunately, I forgot his name) was also very skilled. My husband and I had a great time!

First place I called right off said it was a 45 minute wait, and when I said where I was and where I wanted to go sounded doubtful. Second place wasn't even local and advised me to call someone else. Then I found Bob's Taxi lower down on the google results. When the man that answered the phone didn't bat an eye about my location, and told me it would be at least fifteen minutes, I was SO grateful! My ride showed up in about 20. ( no complaints, traffic is stupid in Sedona) and was Covid compliant and friendly. What more could I ask! Five stars to the knight in a black SUV that rescued me! One warning, they do take only cash, which I was informed of up front from the dispatcher. Thankfully I had the green to engage their services.

My hotel was in Oak Creek Village and most of the places that I wanted to go to were in Sedona, so I relied on them a lot. They are great! The drivers are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They pointed out landmarks and told me a lot about Sedona and the red rock formations. Bobs Sedona Taxi also offer tours, I didn't do any of them because all of my days were pretty booked up and I had already scheduled two other tours. Based on the drivers that I met, I imagine that their tours are good. They recommended some good restaurants for me to try, which I appreciated. The cabs are very clean. They are very prompt for pre-scheduled pick ups. They are also pretty quick when called for immediate pick ups. I am mobility impaired and a couple of times I had to call them to go just a few blocks, they were great and gave me really good rates. I don't know how they compare to other Sedona taxi services because I only used Bobs. I originally chose them because of their name "Bobs" (a really old joke between me and some friends), but I continued using them because they are great.
