I was looking for a recycling center that accepts soda cans, soda glass bottles and plastic water…read morebottles. This place only accepted my soda cans. They just don't accept plastic or glass bottles here. This place looks like a dump but the customer service is very fast and efficient. Most of the workers here are Spanish speaking so hopefully you can make out what they tell you. My Spanish is Sykes rusty so I only understood 5% of what they said. All in all, this was a pleasant experience. Obviously, you're not gonna get rich by recycling anything but it does give you some pocket change to maybe buy a lottery ticket or two. I don't recall what the exact redemption value was for bringing in your unwanted cans for cash but I got around 50 cents for maybe 1.5 lbs of soda cans. Almost enough for a $1 lottery scratcher. The workers here will unload your trunk for you and weigh it all and than give you the proper amount of money. Fast service and you don't even need to lift a finger besides opening your trunk that is. I'm from Hawaii and back home, you can actually pay a utility bill or cell phone bill with your recycling money. Not here in Phoenix, it's a totally different process here so I'm gonna start trashing all my recyclables instead. Hope this helps my fellow planeteers!!

I am always trying to catch…read morea "Shred day" event in Phoenix surrounding areas in which, there was one being held that I absolutely had to make a visit to. After rushing from picking up breakfast to make it to this event, I ended up being 5 min late but, I ran into the Shred truck driver who was just literally pulling off. The driver was nice enough to stop and accept my bulk. Steve happened to hear me asking the driver if I were too late (in which, the driver seen my tinny bags to Shred, on my back seat, and the driver was nice enough to tell me that he'd pull over to accept them since, I didn't have much). Steve came out to assist with getting my 1 1/2 bag of items shredded for me. I explained to Steve that I was thankful as I had been trying to catch these shredathons and that (although, I'm straight...respectfully) I rushed over after picking up my breakfast in support of Pride Month from an awesome restaurant (I didn't even mention yelp) but, Steve "IMMEDIATELY" asked me, if I by chance, happened to be an "ELITE" (which, surprised me that he'd ask and that he knew about us ELITE yelpers). I was flabbergasted! As we were pouring my recycling into the bin, Steve and I were chatting it up and he then, proceeded to tell me that they LOVED ELITE YELPERS!!! I was absolutely amazed by this acceptance of us, in which, he spoke highly. I recommend that, you guys start shredding your old documents instead of tossing into garbage cans, for safety reasons! ‍ They have locations all around Phoenix surrounding areas and they often have shredding drop off events that are free of charge. I just happened to GOOGLE and found this event. Again, shoutout to STEVE AND THE DRIVER who were extremely awesome humans.I offered to tip but they refused/declined. It never hurts to offer a tip guys. ‍ This location was in a office strip complex which GPS took me directly there, but it threw me off as I was expecting an industrial setting. They paid only for steel pricing because a small condensing unit and air handler had steel caging on the units. However, there was also some raw copper and motors that this place refused to separate and pay as such. We will not being any business with this company moving forward as this is complete laziness and a rip off. We normally use Deer Valley recycling located on I-17 and Deer Valley rd because they are honest and will weigh everything separately and pay accordingly. Also a lot less junkies with shopping carts etc at Deer Valley. Don't waste your time with revolutionized recycling, they will rip you off and treat you like a crack head.

Due to COVID, the city of Phoenix was not offering recycling drop off events so I found this company through an internet search. They take nearly all types of electronics: computers, monitors, radios, DVD players, motors, rechargeable batteries and backup drives, printer cartridges, old power cords, etc. and all for free, but with a small charge for printers, scanners and CRT monitors. I had a scanner/printer that I no longer wanted and that was $5, my monitors, tablets, power cords, were all taken off my hands for free. They also wipe your hard drives. The drop off process was easy, sign a short form in the front office with your contact info and what you are dropping off, pay a fee if needed, then drive around the back and an associate unloads your trunk. They do not have pick up for individuals but do have corporate pickup services. The staff were very friendly and pleasant.

She said they always had the number I called, so I'm not sure if the Cutter's number forwarded calls to Assured or not, which would make the statement the lady that answered the phone true, but idk. Anyway, she told me it would be about $130, I believe up to 10 banker's boxes. I said I had the equivalent of 4-5 boxes. She said they could shred up to 10 boxes, so anything less they'll take for the $130. I was used to paying $30-60 with Cutter's, depending on how much shredding I had to do, so this price seemed outrageous to me. The lady on the phone seemed to me a bit snarky, but I could have perceived it that way after she told me the price is still $130ish ($129.XX). A part of me wanted to be sarcastic, but I wasn't. There wasn't any need to ever be sarcastic. I thanked her for her information, but it did not seem reasonable for me to pay so much. I ended up getting a much better deal with a Tempe company with incredible service & pricing and pay for what was being shredded instead of some flat price regardless. Assured showed up on schedule, took care of the records of an entire homeowner association we dissolved (20+ years worth of paper) in a matter of minutes. The driver was courteous and detailed. Honestly, I would have paid more if they asked for it. Great service, thank you! Next time I have another giant wad of paper to shred, I'm keeping the number handy.

Even more baffling, they can't even look up your eligibility for a free dump pass as a resident . with all the tech and computers around, how is that still an issue?
