Ok, $1000 an hour could be worth it if you have a real business need. Then they tell you to upload all your tax information to their web site, so she can review it. I find this confusing because the bill rate is so high, it seems like the kind of thing that would not include prep. Also, I am not so comfortable sending all my tax and financial information to a professional services company I have never really spoken to and whose reputation I could not verify on Yelp. When they call you, they call from Skype numbers that do not work when you try to call them back. I told them I did not want to go over my whole return, just wanted to get advice on a tax strategy she wrote about in her blog. I made an appointment for Saturday at 9 am. There was a mix up on the phone number and it had to be rescheduled to Thursday at 9 am. This is by far the strangest professional services interaction I have ever had. I met with Diane by phone to ask that specific question about an article she published. Though I told them that was what I wanted to discuss, when she got on the call she said that was not possible and was not familiar with the article I was referencing. So, I did not get what I was looking for. I asked for a refund and they provided it to me, so they treated me fairly. Response: Diane appears to be correct that my review is for USTax Aid Services provided by her. Other than that, her comments are inconsistent with my experience.

Lots of missteps early on - like creating my policies with the wrong name (I go by my middle name but details people) and telling me I didn't have mold coverage when I needed it (I did, had to read the policy myself to find the actual answer). I overlooked many of these small(ish) annoyances and just thought wow, I wonder why my realtor recommended them. The policies (homeowners and auto) seemed good so I figured it didn't matter much. I had a pretty big claim on my house 5 months after I bought it. It sucked. Hinman & Associates did not help at all. Fine, I got it. However, at some point the insurance company requested proof that I had completed the rest of the repairs - only they asked my insurance agent, Rob Hinman, for this and did not ask me. If they had asked me, I would have sent it immediately. It turns out this was because without it, they weren't going to renew my policy when it is up in a month. OK, kind of important, right? So Rob calls me and casually mentions something about them not wanting to renew my policy. Doesn't seem like a big deal to him. It is to me though. So I send him the documentation for the insurance company. I hear nothing back. That day! I got a notice of non-renewal in the mail. OK...a simple fix, right? My crack insurance agent will know what to do! I called, emailed...nothing. This was last week and I still haven't heard back from him. Luckily, in the meantime, I contacted my insurance company and sent what they needed and they renewed my policy. WHEW! Of course, I didn't quite catch them before they notified my mortgage company that my homeowners policy wouldn't be renewed. Mortgage companies reallllly don't like that. So now I have more stuff to do, since Rob Hinman couldn't be bothered to contact me. Yes, I am changing to a new insurance agent!

I emailed him to ask what was so urgent that it warranted multiple calls in a row, but, of course, he never responded. Then, I received a notice that he had canceled my policy without any explanation. Thankfully, I was able to find a better policy elsewhere for a lower price. If you're looking for an agent who is both annoying and unresponsive--and might even cancel your policies without notice--then Nelson is the one for you!

The wife wanted to go with only on of three companies she had the best experience with her law clients after decades of claims processing. We settled on State Farm for the best pricing and service as well as them having a record of treating customers more fairly if a claim is needed. I called the Tyler Drake Office (good reviews) and a nice intelligent, upbeat lady named Breana answered the phone. She collected some simple information and proceeded to get right to work on a quote. Several times I either called or emailed with questions, and she got back to me quickly. Often within minutes! I never felt rushed to get off the phone. Although we could have done everything remotely, we went in to see her to complete the final insurance submission and within minutes we had new policies. We were totally impressed and couldn't have expected anything better. We got better pricing than other companies and are confident if the time ever arises that we need to make a claim, they will be there for us. MUCH thanks to Breana and the office for superb work.

My rates have skyrocketed. I got into an accident where I was the last person in a five car pile up. When I got out. Every single person reassured me it was not my fault and that another vehicle ended up going into oncoming traffic to be able to pull over and switch drivers (weird.. absolutely). Do you think they did any sort of investigation? Nope. Just said I was cited. So I was at fault. Now they are telling me they are doing a "non renewal" for two "accidents". One being a fender bender that was my fault but, I didn't even get my car fixed over. The second. Not my fault... but, they treat people like they're "burdens". I wouldn't trust them. This non renewal is truly a blessing. The only reason I stayed with this office was because my dad died and I was on his policy when it happened. They don't care about anyone but themselves and their paychecks. RUN!
