I have seen Dr.Schulhof for over 15 years. He is by far the BEST Oral surgeon in New Jersey. He is extremely knowledgeable and did implants for both my husband and me. Honestly, they were amazing and I had a great experience considering I had a wisdom tooth removal. Before I went in for my appointment they sent a link via text with a 'instructional video' to watch and forms to fill out. When I watched the video, I was kind of laughing because it was basically a sales pitch on how awesome/kind/friendly everyone in their office is, but they really were that amazing! The front desk staff were friendly and prompt, the lady who explained that they were out of network with my insurance was pleasant (I wish I had know the cost upfront but I didn't ask, so a little my fault.) I thought the dental assistant Jose, who is a dental student as well, was great! He was so friendly and explained everything patiently and gave me instructions on my removal and the procedure ahead of time and gave me a debriefing afterwards of how to take care of my mouth. I saw Dr. Farkas after and he was good, when I felt pain he gave me more meds so that I didn't feel it. The extraction was quick. I also requested for an extra shot of the local anesthesia because I was going to work and didn't want to feel any pain and they were happy to oblige. Would absolute recommend! read more

They have the reputation of being the best, and, when it comes to surgery, I think it's well-deserved. Because of their success, they are very busy. So, after I had my wisdom teeth taken care of, I guess they needed the room, because I had to get up and go pretty quick. When I asked the assistant a follow-up question, she said I should just read the brochure. At home, I watched youtube videos that answered my questions. Also, there was no phone call from the office the next day to see how I was (just something I've been used to from other places), and there was no call about the follow-up appointment. Again, all of these things are probably because of how busy they are. Getting the surgery done right is most important. read more

"Not good" is an understatement. Ruined my life. They left surgical material under my gum after a removed molar. Now I have trigeminal neuropathy (disabling facial nerve pain) that will be with me for life. I tried to alert them to the problem (continued infection and severe pain) after the surgery and was rushed away and told that I was fine. I was NOT fine. The infection almost killed me. Hospital saved my life. I highly recommend using a different practice for your oral care. read more

*UPDATE* Problem solved finally in about 5months This afternoon I received a phone call from the dentist. He sincerely apologized for the situation. Accordingly, he and the office manager did not know what was going on at all. Soon after the office manager called to make sure the balance is written off and apologized again. I'm glad this is over and I did appreciate how he handled this matter. "Everything we do comes from above" I do believe in that and I'm glad God worked it out for me on this one today. Overall the surgery itself I didn't have any problem at all. Everything else was smooth and great except the billing and payment part. ---------------------------------------------- They lied that they were in my insurance network. Billing woman said my insurance will cover 80% first, then 100% ( but they charged me money up front ) and when my insurance didn't pay them what they expected, they told me they are actually out of network and charged me the rest which is $420 more than the quote amount I already paid. The billing woman kept saying she would give me a call back whenever I called them regarding this stressful matter but she never called back - she just keeps sending me the same bill without calling me. - Incompetent and deceptive. I will make sure that as many people as possible to know there are dishonest people here , fooling people, ripping off and robbing them- just like what my experience was. read more

This place is absolutely amazing! I was so nervous and incredibly anxious about getting my tooth extracted. Unbelievably disappointed with the way these people treated my mom. My mom had fallen in the snow a few weeks back and banged up her face a bit. It turns out that one of her back teeth broke and she was beginning to get an infection. She was referred to these people by workers comp since she had fallen on the job and they told her she needed an extraction. When she got there they said she needed to have one tooth removed from the top and another removed from the bottom. She was really nervous about it but gave in and asked the clinician to give her the teeth when they were extracted. Mom felt like the person discounted her request by saying something like its in pieces and there's nothing to give you but she insisted and said I want it anyway. The person proceeded to take out both and somehow got rid of them. When mom was leaving, very upset, she asked again (the receptionist this time) why she was being ignored and the receptionist went in the back and came out saying it was too late because the teeth they had extracted from her were now mixed in a solution with everyone's teeth. I guess mom didn't really need them but she had the right to ask for them and not be ignored multiple times. It stands to reason that as a patient, she should be able to make a simple request like that and not be ignored. But ignored she was and then when asking again they were dismissive by saying well what do you want us to do. Safe to say that mom nor anyone from my family will not be visiting this office anytime ever again. read more

They hire her but before she took the offer she explained that she doesn't want to leave a stable job for something unstable. The support staff is great - they were able to accommodate my difficult schedule with extended hours, and I was usually taken in earlier than my scheduled appointment time. We were referred from our dentist for extraction of impacted wisdom tooth for my 18 year old. Trying to get an appointment before thanksgiving day (due to the urgency) was difficult & although they did accommodate us, they forgot to notify us, so we missed it!!! When we finally renewed the appointment, we waited 1 hour, then they explained to us 3 times, in written ( the day before via e mail)at front desk, inside examination room from the dentist/surgeon who wanted to make sure we understood the payment terms so he left the room after he briefly explained the procedure & sent the most obnoxious woman to repeat the payment terms!!! That we had to cover the full amount before leaving the office ( although we have dental insurance). At this point I wanted to take my son & leave but he was in so much pain that he wanted this to be over before going back to college. Instead of 1 tooth, they removed 2, without a reason, they didn't administer enough local anesthesia making the experience terrible & they didn't even put stitches which was even worse because of bleeding & pain. Now he has a gap that the food stays in!!! When I demanded that they see him, & fix that , they gave him a syringe to flush the area every time he eats !!!!!! On top they sent an additional bill cause our met life insurance didn't cover as much as they submitted. Butchers in every way. It's a shame that doctors like them are practicing " business" instead of correct oral surgery. read more

The staff and both Dr. F and Dr. S are amazing. They are very caring, compassionate and go out of their way to put you at ease. I had an issue with my sinuses that required oral surgery to address it. I saw several oral surgeons and selected North Jersey Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery the moment I met with Dr. F. He was all about me and how he thought we should approach my problem. I scheduled an appointment thinking I'd be smart and squeeze in a vacation before I had it done. Not my best idea! While I was away my symptoms got out hand and I called the office on Thanksgiving Day. To my surprise Dr. F called me back in a few minutes. He could not have been more kind and compassionate. I booked a flight to return to NJ on that Friday, called Dr. F as he instructed. He went in the office (even though it was closed) and was able to see that there was a cancelation for Monday Morning at 8AM with Dr. S. Dr. F got me ready, set up the gas and IV and put me at ease, he is a truly kind man. Dr. S came in we again reviewed my CT Scan and the procedure. I awoke to the strange sensation of breathing through my left nostril. I had not done that in years. They removed a large cyst and some infected gunk from my left sinus. I am now just about 10 days post-op. This was as painless as procedure like this could be. I had some discomfort about 5 days in and I called the office and was told to come right over. Dr. S and Dr. F checked me out, seems the stitches were jus irritating me. Dr. F adjusted removed a few and I was good to go. I would recommend North Jersey Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to anyone without reservation. They are amazing!!! read more
