Only reason we left was due to being able to move our vessel closer to home. Otherwise, we would be continuing our stay at Harbour Village Marina. With a pumpout station, fuel and service all available next door, the marina also has nice shower and restroom facilities, along with secure entry. Our kids were also big fans of Daisy, the dock dog. Leo and I like building with Legos occasionally to relieve stress, and I commented to Leo that the building next to the Marina (the building that is located across from Anthony's Homeport Restaurant) looks like it could be a life-sized Lego building with its lovely corbels, its rectangular lights spaced evenly along one outdoor wall, and its many other beautiful architectural details. Leo and I noticed a few similar-looking, small sail boats moored along the left dock of this Marina. All of these boats had cute names that started with "J", such as "Java," "Jester," and "Juno." Leo noticed a sign for the Kirkland Sailing Club near these sail boats, so perhaps these sail boats are from this club. Fun! I used to go sailing somewhat frequently with my close friend Ashley, who is a Chemist, a Mosaic Artist, and a World Class Sailor! But it has been a long time now since I have been sailing! The clouds in the blue sky were simply stunning over the peaceful water. It wasn't too crowded on this Thursday late afternoon. There were a few people walking their dogs, a couple of families, and a few other people there. We would love to return to this Marina on a chill day when we feel like relaxing! This was a great find!

It's one of the best features about Kirkland. Walk a little, eat at the restaurants, shop a little, walk some more. There are picnic tables. There are benches to sit. There are people, cute kids, ducks, and Canadian geese to watch. Buy a sandwich, a gyro, or whatever and sit on a bench to enjoy the beauty of Lake Washington. Today was the Trick or Treat in downtown Kirkland day. There are several booths set up at the Marina for games, a few food items, and a few crafts to buy. During summer, the Wednesday Farmers Market is located here.

Being our first time paddle-boarding Aaron was totally patient and helped us learn the basic stance and grip and paddle and grip mechanics. He carried our boards out to the dock and has a real chill temperament. They have a great little cove for a beginner. I am nearly 6 foot and we were out on Seafair with all boats so the water was about as calm as it could be with all the revelry. I did fall forward but managed to not topple into the water. We had a great time putt-putting about. The equipment seems all brand new and no complaints.

A little less expensive than right on the lake. The owners are very friendly and really do look out for the interest of their renters. One winter my sailboat started to flood and they tried to unclog the drain and promptly gave me a call. They always knew my name and are very flexible with transferring moorage or any other special arrangements that you might need.

A first timer to this bay. Met up with a friend whose friend had a 15-foot Alaskan Smoker Craft,…read moreso we all decided to meet up at the boat launch at 6:00 AM on Friday morning. The line going into the boat docking area was super packed! Probably had to wait in line for 20+ boaters to get to the boat launch area before it was our turn. I think it took about 30 minutes or so... Once we were able to get the boat into the water and get going, it was a very scenic and peaceful atmosphere. The views were great, temperature was just right and water was pleasant. When we arrived at our preferred fishing spot, we prepared our bait, tossed in our lines and trolled. After a minute, the fishing pole got the first fish on! My friend reeled in a Chinook Jack. Released it. Then after baiting the first fishing pole and casting, not even a minute later, hooked on another fish. This time it was a Coho, but as the line got closer to the boat, the fish came off. Afterwards, we were able to get both fishing poles set up and ready to go. I was next to get a fish on and reeled in a nice Adult Coho for my first catch of the day! Not long after that, I got hooked on another fish and reeled the second Coho. We trolled around the water for a bit before I got another fish, but lost it 10 feet away from the boat as it came off. I believe we were in the water for 5 hours. During that time, I was able to land 5 out of 7 fish. My friend landed one big Coho out of 4 of his bites. Limited out with 6 fish, so we were happy about that. All in all, it was a decent experience as my first time boat fishing. Learned a lot while enjoying the bites in the water. There were a whole lot of boaters on this day.

Most of Boat Street Marina slots are in front of agua verde, near the UW campus. the docks were…read moretotally renovated in about 2007 from funky decrepit and cheap, to super flash, clean, big fat slots, 30 amp power, locked keycode gate, and a lot more expensive, a 32' slot is $320, slightly more expensive than just about anywhere in lake union. No liveaboards, no guest moorage. there is a 24 hour keycode to a simple clean but dark lavatory (that chronically smells of refried beans from the restaurant above) and shower for marina users and no other facilities at the docks, but you are within a mile of a lot of great boat and hardware stores (fisherman's supply, and hardwicks), and a 10 minute walk to a bizillion restaurants on university ave. and, it is a fantastic location if you work at the UW or university hospital. some small boat slots are against the shore, and thus not very secure, but it's a pretty good neighborhood -- somewhat surprisingly, undergrads that maraud nearby neighborhoods do not seem to bother the boats. (maybe some inebriated survival instinct is at play there?) the big drawback on this place is the parking. you can pay an extra $30/month or so for a pass to the adjacent lot, but it is only good for 4 hours, 24 hours a day. on top of the 'highest moorage rate in the city', another $30 starts to get annoying, though not totally out of line. for longer parking, there is paid daily parking about 2 blocks away. they also have a couple funky, no-power, no-gate cheaper slots about a block to the west, but i suspect these are available pretty rarely. maybe i'm just having trouble dealing with change, but it kind of cranks me to have to pay $30 in parking every time i take the boat out for the weekend -- and not even get to park at the dock. at that rate, fishermans terminal, shilshoe, everett and edmonds are all looking better and better, so i think my days at boat street are numbered. if you're looking for mega cheap, check out port of brownsville - under $150 for 32'. but getting there practically requires organizing a safari...it is so inaccessible to the city. keyword: moorage

As…read morea bystander of sorts, the Port of Edmonds Marina offers a wonderful little promenade walk that goes through the marina and shipyard providing both water view and peeks at the workings of this charming marina. The mission of the Port of Edmonds includes waterfront public access, which I greatly appreciate. It also has a mission of environmental stewardship. I appreciate the port because of these public goals that affect those who do use the port in the fullest sense. While taking walks between Brackett's Landing and Marina Beach Park, hug along the water to find the walking path behind Arnie's, Anthony's that cut through the port. The fishing pier is charming. I always stop to see the boats being lifted out of the water. They have two methods. One uses two bands that looks like it can carry a whale. One is a lift. A fork lift with two very long prongs gingerly drive the boat to its dry dock spot. It is fun to watch every time. From the Marina Beach Park side, find the sign that reads Port of Edmonds Promenade for the entrance.

Hood Canal Marina has it all! This is a spot for all to wonder and enjoy themselves, the views,…read moresmells, and sounds. So much is happening here that it makes my heart burst! You can grab a tasty pint of beer, enjoy some fresh oysters, toss your empty oyster shells into the water (this part is fun!), take in the salty air and mountain views, grab a coffee and a huge diner plate cookies they make, and hit the road. There's no stopping you and trust me you'll enjoy every ounce of the experience! FYI: The restrooms were out of order as of 6/4/21, but they have porter-potties on site.

You order in the restaurant and pay up front in the store where you can also buy wine, beer, soda, water, etc. The store also had a juice bar that looked pretty neat. The ambiance and location was just lovely. The perfect escape from all the worlds craziness. The seafood was delicious and simply seasoned served in a delish butter sauce. Thankfully they served wet naps with the food. My friend and I shared the Puget Platter which for $27 we found to be a pretty good value. We will definitely have to come back to enjoy more of the local seafood and relaxing vibes!
