A first class experience. We started thinking about buying a boat a bit over a year ago. We decided to join the FunShare boat club at Seattle Boat Co (SBC). Our objective was to see how often and how we would use a boat. After a season, we decided to buy a Cobalt boat. We had stayed in touch with Shane over the last year. Once we decided it was time to move forward, he worked with us to build the boat we wanted. The team at SBC has made it an easy transaction. We just received our new R6 Surf. From Shane in Sales to Tony at SkyLaunch and Tommy the Delivery Captain it has been a great experience. Tommy sent me a library of videos to review prior to delivery and then did the on water boat orientation and walk through. He took me through all the systems and how they worked. In general, SBC sells and services high-end boats. They provide a concierge type experience. There are always staff around to answer questions and help you with any issues. They are definitely a higher-end dealer and it is not the low cost place. However, they provide the service and facilities that goes along with the price. Highly recommended. read more

Repeated problems with the service department. Billing errors, scheduling problems, poor repairs, unnecessary charges, and they hold your boat hostage until you pay, even if they messed something up. I'm never going back. I even raised concerns to Elizabeth and just got excuses. Never again. read more

Seattle boat is the absolute best in the business. I've had a half dozen boats over the years and dealt with several dealers. These guys are the real deal. I almost bought a boat from Kenji years ago but decided to go with a Chaparral instead. Boy was that a mistake. Kenji never tried to hard sell me on a cobalt, although I kind of wish he had. Three years later I reached out and he was able to find exactly what I was looking for. When you own a boat exceptional service after the fact is incredibly important. Anthony and the entire service crew go above and beyond to make service easy. Anything you need they will handle in a prompt fashion. There's not another boat dealer in the area that comes close. I took my boat into Newport twice to have carburetor work done on my boat. Both times they kept it for six weeks saying that they were working on it, and they said they could reproduce and fixed the problem. They did not fix the problem and did nothing but waste my time and money. Use the boat repair service of this company as a last resort only. I wish I could give them a negative review. read more

This place is beyond amazing. My family has been participating in the fun share for almost 3 years now and has loved it every second of the way. First of all, the boats are brand new every season, they sell the old boats after the end of the boating season and by the newest model. Not only are the boats incredible nice, you don't even have to slave over the maintenance of it! The employees clean the boat before and after every boating. They also include all the boat sporting supplies, all you have to do is ask. To reserve the boat, it's easy as just clicking the time and day you want it and showing up. They wanted to charge $5,000 for a repair that another mechanic only needed 800 to fix. I cannot attest to the quality of their work but for these prices it would need to make my boat fly and mow my lawn. Try Pats Marine instead. read more

I am new to Washington and was looking to have my inboard/outboard oil changed. I called and was told the service was ~$130 labor plus parts. A Yamaha 115 oil change kit is $43.99 and $15 for the lower unit oil online so I was figuring ~$215 or so with tax. When I got the call to pick up my boat, I asked for a total and was told $315. I asked a few questions about the cost and then was informed that the oil change was the engine oil only and not the lower unit. The lower unit would be another $200 or so but they would do it for half the cost. So, instead of $225 or so it was now in the lower $500's. I asked to speak to the service manager and the experience just got better. He told me parts on the lake were higher and that the Seattle Boat Company was one of the highest repair sites on Lake Washington. He then asked if I wanted the lower unit done and I said no that I would do it myself. He said that my doing it myself was better and that he didn't feel like there was anything he could do to satisfy me. Perfect, so I didn't get what I thought that I was getting, paid an extra $100 in parts, and was told that it was better that I finish the work at home. I waited to post this note because I didn't want to react in hast. That said, whether a customer stays unhappy and shares their experience with friends, online, customer reviews etc. is completely at the discretion of the merchant or their employees. BTW - I changed the lower unit oil in 20 minutes or so by unscrewing two screws, draining the oil and pumping the new oil in. The Yamaha replacement oil was $15. read more

The folks at Seattle Boats were very nice and their work on both my Yamaha 115HP and 8HP were excellent. I picked up my boat a month ago and I finally had a chance to test it out on the water today. Both the OB's started easily and they idle like they were brand new. I was going through a no wake zone at 600RPM on the 115 which is exceptional. Keep up with the great work guys. Parts Department? Are you kidding me? They are only open on weekdays, so I called on a Thursday morning and left a message inquiring about a part's availability. After no call back, I called again on Friday and left another message. Figuring they must be busy, I drove down to the facility early that Friday afternoon to check and hopefully pick-up the part to get the boat running. I was told the part guy had left early for the day. WTF? No parts service, on Friday in the boating season? When do they think people work on their boats? This is not the first disappointment from Seattle Boat but it will be my last! Bring back Mercer Marine!!! Oh..........and I still haven't gotten a call back. read more

Took my 2003 Regal for an inspection since the starboard engine was performing terribly after a recent maintenance (by another facility). Chris Olsen was the nicest and most caring Service Rep I've met in years. And Adam is a ROCKSTAR mechanic for Volvo Pentas. He was incredibly knowledgeable, fast, and spot on in everything he checked and fixed. I cannot say enough words for how impressed and happy I was after just two hours of work. This diagnosis and repair would have cost me thousands and instead it was just $500 including a quick haul out! On top of it, Adam took the boat for a test drive and showed me some tips for how to improve trimming in relation to RPM. Phenomenal guys. I will not use another company for service ever again! read more

Took my used but new to me 19ft openbow sterndrive mercruiser speedboat to Seattleboat Newport Shores because the bilge was filling up with more water than you wanted. Managed to pick one of the warmest days of the year and they were slammed but Greer the new manager and his team understood my urgency and squeezed me in at the end of the day. Adam one of the lead mechanics took care of me and allowed me to watch and learn while he worked. Prices are reasonable and you know you are getting top notch quality parts and service. Will be taking my boat back there for all future services. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. read more

I am revising my review. Seattle Boat did have some issues on the mechanical side, but went above and beyond to make things right on their end. Also, had some issues on the sales end when trying to buy a new Malibu VLX. Still never heard from anyone on the sales end, so cant comment on this side of things to see if they have made improvements or not. I hope it is a better experience next spring when I sell my 2013 and buy a new 2018. I will let you know then. read more

Wow, I couldn't agree more with what I've read today in these reviews. I was having engine issues with my Yamaha 9.9 HP, 4 stroke kicker. It would start but as soon as I ramped up the RPM"S it would die. I took it to them and they said it needed to have the Carb rebuilt and that I should replace the main fuel line. When I took the boat out after the repair it had exactly the opposite issue. It would run at high RPM's but die at idle speed. When I returned home I took the cover off of the engine and I saw a bolt on the intake manifold was backed out all of the way. Of course this would cause an air leak and make the mix way to lean for the proper mix settings as called out by the manufacturer. After I torqued down the manifold it was easy to determine that the idle and mixture adjustments were way off. I found the air mixture screw on the intake was completely closed off, most likely because of the air leak at the manifold, when it should have been set to 2 turns, plus or minus. Once that was adjusted the idle speed was extremely high so now I had to adjust the fuel stop set screw on the carb to reduce the idle RPM's. That took care of that issue. Now let's talk about the fuel line and squeeze bulb. They actually installed the fuel line to the kicker motor with the bulb dangling out of the back (via the booted access hole) of the boat along with about 4Ft of unsecured fuel line when it belonged in the access area where all of the other fuel lines, squeeze bulb, twin batt's, shore power and 2 cycle oil injection container are located. IE... Where they found it! Imagine this fuel ladened hose assembly bouncing around off of the back of your boat just atop of the kickers' metal mount beating itself to death: Disaster just waiting to happen. I can't imagine buying a boat there ($$$$$) and taking it in for service. read more

I was driving through the Wallingford neighborhood this morning. I approached and came to a complete stop at a 3 way intersection then proceeded to make a left turn. A Seattle boat company truck and trailer that made a rolling stop put on his horn for a lengthy amount of time and flipped me off. Not a very good experience. As a boat owner and friend of other boat owners I can honestly say I will never use them and not recommend anyone else does either. read more

When I purchased a new home in Newcastle I heard Seattle boat Newport was building dry stacks to store boats. At that moment I knew it was time to buy a Cobalt. I purchased a new Cobalt and the transaction went stress free and very smooth. It was my first boat purchase and I could not ask for better service. When the boat was delivered, the delivery captain took me out on the water and showed me everything I needed to know about boating. When I need to use my boat all I have to do is schedule a boat movement via smartphone. I show up to Seattle boat and the boats already in the water and ready to go. The docs mates are always their welcoming us to the boat and always asking us if we need anything. If I have any issues with the boat, their sense of urgency to fix the issue and the high quality work is impressive! I've been very happy with Seattle Boat-Newport from day one. Im glad I made the decision to purchase and store my boat with them. read more

I totally agree with Greg B. Seattle Boats sold me the wrong spark plugs (too long, could have damaged my heads), and when I had them out (at a $145 trip charge to come to Bellevue from Mercer Island) to see what the problem was (after I installed the plugs), they told me there were the wrong size. They then quoted me almost 2 hours to replace the plugs. I saw the guy take them out, and it took him less than 10 minutes, The total time to remove and replace could not have been more than 30 minutes, probably less. I had never changed marine plugs before and it took me 40 minutes. I questioned the estimate, since they had sold me the wrong plugs to begin with, out of Bellevue Newport, and they said 'we are connected in name only, you have to deal with them.' They quoted me almost 2 hours to change the oil and almost two hours to of labor to replace the fuel pump. Interesting, the labor charge for all three items was about the same amount. I questioned the time to change the oil, saying 'can't you do something else at the same time while the oil is pumping out' and he said 'if you don't want to deal with us fine.' He was rude, and the time to quoted handle the repairs was far higher than the actual time it takes. You should avoid this company like the plague. read more
