With that being said, I look at Yelp to get an idea of businesses often and the reviews for this clinic had me a little worried about taking my Doberman here. After my first visit with Joy Barron, I felt very differently. She was very nice and very informative and I asked a lot of questions because my doberman is the first dog I've cared for. I scheduled an appointment to get my boy neutered with the receptionist after my first checkup here and she handed me the appointment reminder card for the date of the surgery. I showed up this morning at the time I was given to be notified that his surgery was never scheduled. I was then told that I could leave him there for the day but there was no guarantee that he'd receive his surgery today. At this point I was really upset about the lack of accountability from the receptionist (who was working there this morning but said nothing the entire time I was in there while this was happening) and decided to just leave before I lost my cool and said something rude and unprofessional. I've emailed them a copy of this appointment reminder card and would be happy to update this review when an explanation has been given for why the surgery was never scheduled when I scheduled it IN PERSON IN THEIR OFFICE.

I had to wait until my spouse drove 50 miles to get money.. by the time he was finished.. he brought out one puppy and said that was all there was... definitely a lie as his secretary said he threw the dead ones in the trash.... also my dog had the most horrific stitching that I ended up taking her to another vet because they ripped open .. this Dr cares more about money than an animals safety. After every test, with no answers; they did not give up. They started trying to narrow down the issue and did not give up. He had a small stay of about 5 days in total, and the staff constantly updated me throughout his stay. His illness really seemed to be a death sentence, but after trying a medicine they don't typically use, he began improving so quickly. We were so thrilled when we finally got good news of progress for our boy. He is doing just perfect now and is back to his loving self. I cannot thank this hospital enough for their dedication to their job, and to their patients. Throughout the days there, we saw many people treated so well. If you ever have an emergency I highly recommend them. They treat your animal like they are their own. I truly felt so supported and like our boy was in the best hands possible.

The staff at Elk Creek is very personable and compassionate. This isn't just a job for any of them, it's a passion. From the person who takes calls and makes appointments to the doctors to the techs, every person we've dealt with has been understanding and caring. The exam rooms are spacious, comfortable, and quiet, so that your visit is kept private. The Doctors are the best we've ever been to. They listen to you and give you sound advice that's in the best interest of the (insert pet here). We find the prices for services and medication very reasonable, and making an appointment has never been a problem. As sad as it is, we've brought two of our dogs here to say goodbye to them. It's a terrible thing to do and it's incredibly difficult, but the staff understands that. They give you as much time as you need and make sure your pet is comfortable. As heartbreaking as it is, Elk Creek does it with care and dignity. Yes, it's about a 30 minute drive, but it's worth it for the care and the compassion the staff at Elk Creek has for your pet.

They didn't treat his fever and wouldn't without doing money-making labs. They gave me a handful of prescriptions. the only one we needed was an antibiotic. Nothing for his fever! I was able together him to swallow the antibiotic and his eyes cleared up overnight, though he woke up the next day blind and deaf from his fever and died 3days later. Be wary of this clinic!
