Before diagnostic testing was completed, a staff member repeatedly pressured me to euthanize my dog, told me she had cancer before testing confirmed any diagnosis, and made alarming statements about her chances of survival. I became extremely upset and left feeling traumatized. I later filed a formal complaint with management. In writing, the hospital acknowledged that the veterinarian on duty remembered the incident and that the employee's words "did not convey the appropriate level of compassion." What makes this even more upsetting is that Bella is still alive today and enjoying a good quality of life. While I appreciate that management eventually acknowledged my concerns, the emotional impact of this experience has stayed with me long after the visit. Pet owners deserve compassionate communication, especially when facing difficult medical decisions.

The staff at Elk Creek is very personable and compassionate. This isn't just a job for any of them, it's a passion. The exam rooms are spacious, comfortable, and quiet, so that your visit is kept private. The Doctors are the best we've ever been to. They listen to you and give you sound advice that's in the best interest of the (insert pet here). We find the prices for services and medication very reasonable, and making an appointment has never been a problem. As sad as it is, we've brought two of our dogs here to say goodbye to them. It's a terrible thing to do and it's incredibly difficult, but the staff understands that. They give you as much time as you need and make sure your pet is comfortable. As heartbreaking as it is, Elk Creek does it with care and dignity. Yes, it's about a 30 minute drive, but it's worth it for the care and the compassion the staff at Elk Creek has for your pet.

I was able together him to swallow the antibiotic and his eyes cleared up overnight, though he woke up the next day blind and deaf from his fever and died 3days later. Be wary of this clinic!

When I'm cleaning up after my in-laws completely blind and incontinent dog, I start wonder if they're keeping them alive a little TOO long. They take a couple hour break mid-day from 2-4, but they also stay open till 8pm M-Th, and are open on Saturdays, too. So overall their hours are great, as long as your vet emergency doesn't happen during that break time! They have separate areas for cats and dogs to wait and their exit and entrance doors are separated as well. This means that altercations between animals are unlikely. In fact, I've never seen one. We briefly tried another vet that was closer to home, but they seemed more interested in selling us extra procedures instead of helping our cats. Not so at Lawrenceburg!
