I have extremely mixed feelings about this place. I met with Megan and she was my therapist who consulted with me and did my acupuncture treatment. Let me start off by saying that I bought this deal on Groupon for 1 hour for $39. Scheduling my appointment was easy and I had to fill out a somewhat extensive questionnaire online about my health background. Immediately after arrival I was greeted by Megan. She was very pleasant and easy to talk to. My consultation was brief; she described the process and asked me if I had any questions and answered any concerns. I was told to take off my top and lie face down on the massage table. Megan came in and started inserting the needles into my ankles, back and neck. Here's where I got iffy about her. So I'm obviously black right lol. I wear a weave just like many other women in different races or ethnicities. I moved my long hair out of the way and before she puts the needles in my neck she goes, "oh this isn't your hair is it?". No it's not but ok. Next... Fast forward... 45 minutes later I took a nap. The room was pretty relaxing and I liked that. Megan came back in to remove the needles from my back and AGAIN she feels the need to comment on my hair. For what reason? I don't know. This comment however rubbed me the WRONG way. She's removing the needle from my neck and proceeds to say, "oh I'm not familiar with African hair". Ummm whettt?! What's African hair? I'm not African #1, and #2 I'm pretty sure I didn't come into your establishment for anything involving my hair. So yea.. Even if in 2 days my soreness goes away and I feel amazing. I just wouldn't feel comfortable returning back here. Especially when she said her treatments are $85 each. I'd rather spend that on a massage. Thanks anyway. I was very skeptical at first bc I've heard a lot of negative things about acupuncture in the past, but after going here. .all my negativity has gone away. I first came here bc my orthopedic dr told me I'd need open knee surgery to repair some issues I was having. I heard from a colleague that they went to acupuncture for a similar issue and it worked miracles in him. I was open to anything at that time do went in and was doing 2x a week for 3 months as recommended by Meghan. After that initial 3 months, I started feeling better so cut it down to every other week. Shortly after that, I was able to run again without any discomfort. Now I'm song them to help with my post shingles pain as I haven't been able to sleep for weeks. ..and last week was the first time I slept in ages. Meghan is a true miracle worker. Had a great experience here from start to finish. I was looking for an acupuncturist closer to where my mom lives on the North Shore and i found a groupon for this place. I read about them and it looks like all three finished top in their class so i decided to give it a try. We were greeted by soft sagey colored walls and relaxing music with a tea station and comfortable high-backed chairs. Sabrina was there and took us right at our appointment time and was kind and professional. She explained everything to my mom with patience and kindness. They do take some insurance but not AARP or medicare yet. There is a comprehensive brochure with a list of inbalances that can be treated by accupuncture. She took care of my mom and gave her extra pillows etc and a little bell in case she wanted her to come back into the room. We made another appt and yes it's more wxpensive than the groupon but not really any more expensive than other accupuncturists. My mom said she did feel a little better and that is good enough for me! She is also a nutritionist and suggested we make a list of all that she is taking including supplements to assess. read more

Acupuncture opened a whole new world to me and North Nassau Acupuncture and their staff made it all possible. I found this North Nassau Acupuncture on Groupon thinking I would do with most of my other Groupons: Go there, use my voucher, and never return. I'll tell you what, this is one of the few times that I ever found a business on Groupon that I know I will be back to (and have been 3 times in the past 2 weeks already)! Thanks to my insurance totally covering all of my treatments along with not having to pay a copay, my sessions are totally free. But even if they weren't free, they are worth every single penny. My knee pain and back pain is 100% gone all thanks to acupuncture. I have only gone 3 or 4 times and it really does work incredibly. You really don't feel anything at all when the needle goes in. After all, the needle is 10X smaller than a regular needle! If you're considering trying it, this is the place to go to. No matter who you get, Jen, Sabrina, Angela, or Meghan you are in the best of hands and they all perform their work professionally but also extreme care and due diligence and they will definitely make sure you feel 100% comfortable. I love how clean, and warm the office is. I also like that they can work around my crazy schedule. I also really love the little bell they give me in case my leg cramps and I have needles in me which I know I most likely won't need during my treatment, but it's a really great safety cushion. I'm going to continue to go for acupuncture hereafter least once but most likely twice a week. I don't think I'll ever stop going here. Acupuncture puts me in my happy place and I find that I really am put in another world when I have the needles in me. Just close your eyes, relax, and you'll see for yourself! This review is of my experience with this practice and I didn't even go. I was supposedly texting with dr Kim and they asked for my insurance card as I booked thru zocdoc. I wasn't able to send them my card bec I needed to wait til insurance approved other appt as this was brand new coverage. The doctor texted me asking me incessantly for the card to hold my appt wks out. As she told me she doesn't accept the insurance and as a result I'd have to pay out of pocket was fine and completely understandable. I understand standard practices. Dr Kim told me to deal with her and not zocdoc. Then my appts were cancelled by zocdoc which was due to the doctor doing so and claimed it was zocdoc. I've booked MANY appt thru zocdoc and they've never been cancelled by ZD only thru the doc. It's evident that they only care about the money and not the patient. Kim told me to deal with her and not zocdoc and this is what happened. Then Meghan reached out bec I told the doc this is unacceptable and people should know. While I thank her to try to resolve my issue it's clear doctor kim lied to me. I wouldn't normally write this review but I was so disappointed and disgusted by this. They couldn't wait two days for an appt booked out in advance when I acknowledged I'd pay if my insurance didn't cover it. They likely made an assumption that I wouldn't pay out of pocket bec I had a temporary low cost insurance. I cannot forgive this treatment nor give their practice another shot. I appreciated Meghan trying to rectify but I felt pressured/harassed via these texts and shamed by the judgment of my insurance and they thought I couldn't pay it. I won't come here when my newer big name insurance kicks in. read more

I must admit, I was skeptical about acupuncture. I've had it before for stress relief and it really didn't do much. However, due to plaguing health effects from medical procedures I was on a fairly high dose of medication with marginal relief. I was desperate for relief from neuropathy and the rehab doc suggested acupuncture. I chose North Nassau Acupuncture based on their two locations, in Great Neck and Syosset which were convenient. They really try to make you as comfortable as possible with heated tables, essential oil misters, heat lamps and eye pillows on top of the acupuncture. The treatment rooms are always clean and comfortable. They work on your issues while giving reassurance and guidance. They also have suggestions for herbal supplements that may enhance your treatment but there is no pressure to buy anything. I have had treatments by Meghan, Angela and Sabrina and I found them all very pleasant and professional in their practice. I have been treated for about six months now and have been relieved of pain and the harsh sensations of neuropathy. I have been able to reduce my medication significantly thanks to NNA! Back in August 2015 I started treatment w. Sabrina for my frozen shoulder. I had never tried acupuncture before and was a bit nervous about if it would hurt and if it would work. I have been a regular patient of North Nassau Acupuncture for about two years, working with the acupuncturists in the Great Neck location (all of which are exceptionally professional, knowledgeable and caring)!
