Sandy Hill Kennels - Honey after her grooming!!

My puppy Honey is 6 1/2 months old and I needed to find somewhere close to get her groomed. After having other groomers in town not return my texts and phone calls I decided to call Sandy Hill. Not only was the gentleman on the phone pleasant. But he was able to get me an appointment for the very next day. I also like the fact that Sandy Hill requires proof of vaccines, rabies shots, kennel cough, etc. prior to taking on a new puppy. When I got there for her appointment at 1 o'clock they were already waiting for me. They took a picture of her for her file, petted her up a little bit so she would be comfortable and asked specifically what I wanted done during the grooming appointment. I was told that it would be about an hour and a half and that I would get a phone call when she was done about an hour and 15 minutes later, I received a call from her groomer, letting me know that she was all done and adding that she did exceptionally well considering that she's just a puppy. When I got there, the groomer brought her out showed me what she did and handed me a report card that also outlined her appointment, she also proactively made an appointment eight weeks out for me so that I didn't have to worry. The location is about 13 minutes from the center of Saxonburg, and is located off of Sandy Hill Road. The kennel and grooming complex itself was spotless, it was immediately evident that it was a classy, well taken care of business. I will for sure be taking honey back and having Christine groom her again!

When inquiring about the charge, i was told that grooming is a separate service and we should have known to inquire what the fee would be. The front desk has no accountability or responsibility for grooming pricing. I find that as a full service business, that is not a very customer friendly response and quite frankly, in other kennels i have used, the bathing was always included in the overall kennel stay. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

They have a safe environment and trainers that are able to provide my pup socialized skills, clarity in communication and time that I wasn't able to provide him with. Elissa is so kind, patient and very supportive. Honestly, all their trainers are so passionate about dogs, they care about them so much and advocate for the dog's success, they will all help you to become a better and responsible dog parent. I LOVE that they help me strengthen the bond with my beloved one and there for me all the way through (super responsive!) My pup came home more confident, focus and happy. He is now a proud CGC pup, were able to enjoy our outings safely together and have a great start to discover all the adventures life throws our way. The best part is that we will have their support for life, join the community and learn about more training to bond our relationship in a healthy way. The upsetting part was that I wished I had known and started with them and not waste my money on other trainings prior! I'm definitely coming back here when I get my second dog. It's SO worth it.

I called a couple of places for pricing and Heart-Shaped Paws was the best price for the best deal. I adopted Foxxi and had her for 6 months before I got her trained, she was always a good dog but now is very attentive to me and is on her way to being the best! I think that Alisha did a great job on not only training Foxxi to listen to me, but she trained me as well! I never knew how many bad habits I was doing towards my dog and she helped me correct that. Thank you!,

My family was on the verge of getting rid of her even though we love her so much. Alisha was calm, walked me through the steps I needed to take to retrain her, answered a ton of questions and never asked for a dime. She was so incredibly helpful and she gave me hope that I can get my dog back on track! Because of this spectacular service I asked her if she would be willing to do some one-on-one training with my dog. We meet this Sunday and I am excited to see what else she can help us with. Her individual rates are fantastic as well. Personally, I think she should charge more, but am definitely not complaining. The only bummer is that she may be moving soon because her husband is in the military. I'm going to take advantage of her services while she is still in town. I cannot express how helpful and open she is! Great job Alisha!!!

They said absolutely if she had all her vaccinations which she does. We arrived and they were so nice to her and us. We were given a link to keep an eye on her throughout the day, she had so much fun but was a bit shy! They took her to eat with them making sure she had a bit extra care. When we arrived they brought her to us with a gift bag filled with toys and treats for her and us. We were told she had an amazing day and was welcome back any time. We asked about how to pay and they informed us her first day was free. We were absolutely speechless, it isn't very often that a business cares and truly appreciates our business. We were also impressed at how they loved each dog that walked I. As if they were their own. I will definitely be taking her there for many of the amenities and services they provide. A huge thank you for taking the time and loving what you all do.

This store offers the following products and services: supplies for dogs and cats (e.g., foods, treats, toys, apparel, supplements, beds, bowls, collars, leashes, shampoos, and dental products), bird cages and seed, fish food and aquarium supplies, reptile food and habitats, live fish and other small pets, dog washing and grooming, etcetera. When I entered this store, an employee immediately and kindly greeted me. I walked around the store to browse the merchandise. Most of the products were for dogs. I was shopping for my cats, and I selected a collar and three containers of wet food to buy. The cashier immediately and accurately rang up my purchase and wished me a good day. I deducted half of a star from my review because the prices were a little higher than what a competing online retailer charges. Finally, I read on the website about the Pet Supplies Plus Recycling Program: "We accept all flexible plastic pet food, treat and litter bag packaging, from ALL brands, across ALL species, purchased from ANY retailer...Look for specially marked recycling boxes inside your neighborhood Pet Supplies Plus store." What a fantastic program! I will no longer have to throw my pet-food bags and litter bags into the trash.

She was able to quickly identify the things we were doing that were not working and teach us how to better communicate to our dog. Our beagle also had a lot of aggression with towards other dogs, so we thought. Kate immediately saw that our beagle was actually very fearful of the other dog and that what was causing his reaction. Within fifteen minutes we were walking down the street side by side with the German Shepard and its owner without my beagle flipping out! Kate offers sessions in the client's home at a reasonable price. You can pay per session or buy multiple sessions for a discount. As owners of a stubborn, yet oh so cute, beagle, we found our five sessions with Kate to be extremely valuable. We will use what we learned everyday of our lives as dog owners.
