My fiance and I sought out their help in November 2019 when our sweet little Bassador,(Basset Hound/Lab mix) Moze started getting a little too wild for our liking. We contacted Say It Once for our 11 year old Jack Russel mix that we adopted during the pandemic. She is leash reactive and skittish around dogs and kids. He was very observant and noticed small things I was doing that my dog was reacting to, that I didn't know my dog was reacting to because I didn't even know I was doing them until he pointed it out. Vinny was the second trainer that we used for our dog. While our first training "worked" (e-collar) it didnt fit well with our dog's sweet, humble personality. Vinny kept in touch with me regarding scheduling. We had to schedule a few months in advance but it was worth the wait. The training offered is so personalized. Vinny worked with us for 2.5 hours. Our appointment wasnt rushed at all. He took time to observe us/our dog, show us the correct way, helped us practice the correct way, plus a little in home consultation for more in depth training. My dog is doing really well with Vinny's simple yet oh so helpful tips. He prides himself on training people, not pets which is totally true. My dog had it in her the entire time.. I am sure this business and their trainers produce fantastic dogs. I have even taken a few tips from their social media to my own dogs. However, I ordered two items from their website at the beginning of May, and nearly a month later I have yet to receive ANY real update regarding my order. I am honestly in no hurry to get the package, but the sheer lack of communication is completely infuriating. I have sent several emails, left voicemails, and check my order status online often (which has remained at "Thanks! We've received your order" since I made my purchase). I have received correspondence back twice (one instance was quite curt) and neither times have provided me with an accurate status on my order. I have now requested for a refund and cancellation twice over email and once over the phone and have heard nothing back. I live on the opposite side of the country and have followed Vinny on instagram for quite sometime. I was excited to support and rep the business in the only way I could (merch), but this is absolutely ridiculous. Travis was great! I just finished my second session with him and he has helped Tucker and I so much. He came in and asked me what I wanted to work on and what we were struggling with and helped come up with a plan that work for our specific situation. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Vinnie and SIODT. Before we started working with him (8/16) our 1 year old Kelpie-mix was an absolute terror for us. We couldn't walk him without him pulling us down the street, we couldn't interact with any other dogs while he was on leash, we couldn't even have people over at our house because he would bark and growl at everyone and we were too embarrassed to invite guests over. Since working with Vinnie, our dog has learned skills to become more confident and less anxious. He explained to us the origins of these behaviors and showed us techniques on how to diminish unwanted behaviors. We are still working towards some goals but what a difference 9 months has made! We can have guests over with a plan to make it less stressful for everyone. We can take him for walks without stress or anxiety. We have the skills we need to deal with the unwanted behavior. I reached out right away and was put on the waitlist - fortunately for me, I work at home and have a super flexible schedule so I was able to have my initial session after a couple weeks on the waitlist.
