I have nothing but great things to say about North Point Orthopedics. Dr. Pandhi and Lauren Vander Woude were tremendously supportive during my total hip replacement Surgery. I would trust them anywhere anytime. I also have a shout out to Dr. Evanson who performed hand surgery on me as well as Dr. Rachoy, no longer with practice, who support is still unwavering. Having previously been to North Point Orthopaedics this summer for care. When I was having a new issue, I decided to try another doctor in the facility. I thought I had pulled a muscle between my neck and shoulder, and that it would work itself out. As the weeks passed, I started to have significantly less pain, but occasional tingling and numbness, which concerned me. I decided to get it looked at sooner rather than later. So I chose Dr. Nikhil Pandhi to schedule an appointment with. I was taken back shortly after arriving for my appointment. They did x-rays of my neck and shoulder. Dr. Pandhi came in and went over my x-rays with me, which were clear. He checked my range of motion. As well as if any particular positions caused pain. Then he gave me the best case scenario on news, that it will heal on its own. He did not try to sell me on therapy or follow up appointments. He did however give me some exercises to do at home. He took his time and explained in detail my x-rays as well as when he was checking my range of motion and strength of that arm. I was so impressed with how thorough he was. He did say that if I had additional issues or the symptoms worsened, to come back in. And if anything comes up, I definitely will. That is two for two physicians that I've seen at this facility, that convinced me that I went to the best place for my care. read more

This was a first visit and I was taken back with the lack of any ounce of empathy shown by the staff that we encountered from the receptionist to the medical assistants, nurses and lastly the doctor. 30 minutes after our appointment time we were shown into an exam room. The medical assistant required us as family to hold up the very elderly (95+} patient from a wheelchair 2 weeks after surgery while she yanked out 24 staples from the leg and hip area. There was some inflammation so she left in the middle of the extraction to find a nurse, while we stood holding up the patient. About 10 minutes later she returned. The nurse opened the door half way as our family member was held up by us in underwear and other patients and staff passed by the doorway. Really? She indicated an antibiotic was needed. After staples were extracted the medical assistant announced an x-ray was needed and if we thought the patient would be unable to maneuver alone we should come with to the x-ray room to help. Wow - very surprised at this requirement and the indifference shown. Medical assistant just stood by while we assisted for w-ray. Beyond surprised. Another 15 minutes before the Dr came in. Very cavalier and clearly had no clue who the patient was and any related information we needed from him for the antibiotic and further treatment plan in rehab and thereafter. He couldn't get out fast enough. Fundamental issue was not a shred of real care or concern. People mill. The prescription for antibiotics wasn't sent to the place we specified so took another day to track down where they sent it and have it redirected. All on us and the practice didn't help at all. Unfortunately have to go back for another checkup with this Dr and practice. At least our expectations of long wait times and dispassionate staff is known. read more

After my first appointment I should have seen the red flags. Dr. said he was going to call in a prescription for the fractures in my leg. I had to call the office the next day to get the prescriptions sent over. Just to have them fill out a 5 day prescription. I called in for a refill once I was getting low, and didn't hear anything back and nothing was sent to my pharmacy. After calling back everyday, I kept getting the run around that the NP was too busy or got called into surgery. When they sent the prescription in again they sent it in for another 5 days, which then flagged a PA from the insurance company. The pharmacy reached out and the PA was never completed, which then caused issues with the pharmacy because I needed the medication and told the pharmacy to charge me the cash price. The pharmacy then wanted to argue about how the insurance process works. I then called in for another refill and it has been 4 days and still no reply or prescription sent in now its the weekend which means by the time that they are back in the office it will be going on a week. Communication is non-existence with the care team to the patient. The only time communication comes up is if you owe them money and then you still don't get any answers from the care team. It feels like they would rather have you experience excruciating rather than do their duty to actually care for patients. After having this place recommended to me by family members I was actually looking forward to seeing a care provider that I was told actually cared for the wellbeing of their patients. I am doing my research now to find a new ortho, and find one who's office has a proven track record of patient care. Since it seems like North Point only cares about charging your insurance and not treating the actual patient. This is definitely an eye opener to research a new provider before going to them, I will not be recommending anyone to come here unless they just want to be treated as a cash cow for Health Care professions that don't care about your well being. read more

Never go to Dr David Harris or use this facility. They are private practice and therefore they don't have to abide by any medical practices that a normal medical facility would use to take care of you after your surgery. they cut you open and could care less what happens afterwards. and they don't even care that you were not sent home with tolerable pain medication after knee replacement. You can call and ask for help and they ignore you. Dr. Harris has a great bedside manner, but he does nothing about his staff who don't return phone calls & he didn't even call me when he fractured my femur in a manipulation and I called at 7 PM at night to say I was in excruciating pain. I posted this on their website almost 2 months ago and never received a phone call from North Point. Again, don't go here. read more

I have truthfully never felt so degraded by a doctor's office in my life. I came here after a particularly bad bout of back pain (I'm 25) and was treated like I could not possibly have any "real" back problems at this age. I persisted and was ultimately diagnosed with DDD and early-onset osteoarthritis. When I called back to get a doctor's note for work, I was treated like an idiot over the phone because I could not make it to office hours to pick it up due to my work schedule. The receptionist demanded to know my work hours, my commute length, and then snapped on me exclaiming (despite their office closing at 4) "I was here until MIDNIGHT last night!" I'm not sure why this was necessary considering she was not offering to allow me to come pick up the note past office hours. Months later I call back in during an especially painful episode to see if I should come back in and be re-evaluated or for some kind of relief. The receptionist's exact words were, "Oh honey, I have osteoarthritis in every bone in my body. I just ignore it," and I was told I'd have to wait around 6 weeks for an appointment. Needless to say, I will never be returning to this office. Hopefully, I can find a doctor who actually cares about my long-term health with much more respectful staff. read more

If I could give this place absolutely zero stars I would they are the most incompetent irresponsible people I've ever had to deal with. My mother had a sprained wrist and she went to this place they charged her to fill out the FMLA paperwork and it was never filled out. A month goes by these people still have not filled it out and every time we call them they give us the runaround first they said that they lost the papers so the papers or resubmitted it to them. Then they said that the assistant was on leave a family emergency . That they would get somebody else to fill them out this never happened. Then they told us that those papers would be submitted today by 330 never happened my mother is on the verge of losing her job because of these people and they don't care and now they can't even answer the phone . But they had no problem taking her money when she needed to have those FMLA a papers filled out. It's absolutely disgusting this was at the munster location UPDATE I CALLED AGAIN THEIR RESPONSE THEY'LL GET DONE WHEN THEY GET DONE. MY MOTHER IS ABOUT TO LOSE HER JOB BECAUSE OF THEIR INCOMPATANCE AND THEY COULD CARE LESS. read more

Dr. Harris is phenomenal! I had horrible carpel tunnel in my right hand. Another physician had put me through several years of shots that worked for a few months and the pain would return. Dr. Harris also diagnosed my trigger fingers and performed surgery that left me pain free. He's great at explaining everything in an understandable manner. As for wait time, yes, I have had to wait as much as forty-five minutes. However, Dr. Harris isn't watching the clock when he sees you. Every patient gets his full attention! Personally, I'm pleased with his time and attention to details. Everyone deserves more than a fifteen minute glance. read more

Please be sure you confirm that they accept your insurance. I did. Several times before surgery. I was concerned because my insurance rep said they were using the wrong tax ID number. The young women at NPO agreed and said it would be corrected. I was informed after surgery that the NPO rep was wrong they don't accept my insurance. Unless I paid out of network charges they wouldn't be able to see me any longer. This all transpired after my first follow up appointment after hip replacement. I was stunned. I was already have issues with pain and trouble walking. Needless to say I had to find another orthopedic surgeon. Three years later I'm still in pain and it's likely I didn't need hip replacement. The trouble is with my spine. I always thought the office staff was awful. Im not so sure about McComis. He did the surgery and left me when it was obvious something was wrong. I could go on and on but you get the idea. Go elsewhere. read more

I figured the first visit of not getting called for over an hour in the waiting room was a fluke. Second time, at 45 minutes after my appointment time, I went up to reschedule. The attendant at the desk said tell me a doctor that you don't wait for. I guess they're never on time. Well, what's the point of an appointment then? Heck I can get into immediate care in less than an hour WITHOUT an appt! Sadly disappointed! read more

I have been trying for months to get in for an appointment with North Point Orthopaedics. I have had two evening appointments that have been cancelled day off. I did not even get a call the second time - I just happened to call to get the directions. How unprofessional to keep cancelling your evening appointments. For people who can't be seen during the day and need evening appointments this is very frustrating. read more

Surprising, I have not even had my surgery yet and I feel so comfortable and informative with Dr McComis family of experts. Thoughtful, caring and warm are just the icing on the cake. I recently underwent a lumbar laminectomy surgery caused by my spinal stenosis. I was at the point that I could not walk upright and could barely walk at all. Dr.McComis diagnosed my spinal problem and explained to me what the situation was and how it was going to be corrected. After surgery I had physical therapy to regain my strength and my ability to walk correctly. I am now walking pain free and thankful for every step I take. Dr McComis and his staff at North Point orthopedics are all very professional and caring. I am very grateful that they were able to get me on my feet again and get my life back to normal.
