Had a back injury when I was a kid that I never really had looked at. Fast forward 12 years, and it's still causing me pain (go figure). Went to one doctor who pushed for an MRI, and then never got back to me. Waited a few months and decided to head here (Pinnacle) and give them a go. Was in so much pain at the time that I couldn't even sit down without tears welling up. Standing at an always angle was my only relief. They saw this. They knew this. This visit occurred around spring time 2025 I went in, did the routine, signed a waiver to release my MRI to them, and got some blood work scheduled for a little later on. Left very hopeful and optimistic with how genuinely invested the doctor seemed to be in fixing me. Gave me a lot of info. I never heard back from Pinnacle. No follow up, no "hey we have your MRI results and this is what they show", no emails, no calls/voicemails, not even a letter. Nothing. Pinnacle ghosted me. The lack of follow up and being all around a caring and professional healthcare organization is not the reason for the single star rating however. The rating comes from the fact that nobody got back to me, yet I OWED THEM MONEY. I paid my copay, and thought that was it. Next thing I know, I have a collections agency calling me about a debt stemming from my visit here at pinnacle. Had absolutely no knowledge of it. And when I called, I got a woman with a nasty attitude basically telling me I'm an idiot because they always send out PAPER MAIL about money owed. So not only did I not get a letter at all, but in 2025, you can't CALL ME OR EMAIL ME WHEN YOU HAVE MY INFO?? This came at the perfect time too, because I was just recently laid off from work. So now my credit will take a hit because I NOW don't have the $300 I could've paid off months ago Nice place inside, but absolute trash. Would never recommend. I will never go here or another affiliated healthcare company again. It's hard enough finding people who care, but this is ridiculous. Screw Pinnacle read more

got sick over the holiday weekend so Tuesday I tried to call for an appointment with Dr. Rebecca family medicine. Called several times and no answer finally able to leave a message still no call back. go to the office on Friday but left the house without my purs. my head was in a fog I felt terrible for almost a week now. my copay is 30$ but I had forgot my purse. asked if I could pay later or call with a payment when I got home. NO okay can I talk to Rebecc. she came out and said idk what to tell you I have no control. she just didn't seem to care at all about her patient. when I stated that she got very angry with me. I asked to speak to the office manager where Rebecca said I hope it's Erin. she then went back and spoke with Erin and then they came to speak to me where I asked if I could speak to her in private. she said other pt's aren't paying so this is the new polic. I understand but it's 30$ and I always pay my bill. i said now I have to be sick the whole weekend and hope someone will answer on Monday. Erin said well I can give you my extension! OMG how about care about your patients! I'll never go back! they are all about money money money! a dr can override anything! I once changed ins and they told me I could no longer be seen and the dr came out and said yes we will still see her! he cared about his pt! Rebecca does not! stay away! run! as long as you have tons of money to pay and pay and pay, she'll be great to you but the second you don't have a small $30 co-pay at the moment because you left your purse at home she will treat you like your dirt. read more

My wife hade a serious neck surgery in July. The surgeon was excellant butthe hospital and admin are deplorable for after the fact help.Ourt follow up visit was totally screwed up. The time and location was changed w/o us being notified. It has been nearly 6 weeks since the surgery and she still has trouble swallowing. I have called for the last three days to ask a question regarding this and allyou get is a recording and n0 one has called to speak to us. I don't think the admin people ever relay the messages. I was hoping to get myself worked on but after this it will not happen. I hear many similar complaints from other surgery patients. They need to get their act together. read more

My husband went to Pinnacle urgent care for a swollen, red ankle. Doctor diagnosed him with cellulitis, and he admitted him. During my husband's five day admission, the care he received was good. When he was discharged, he didn't receive any after care instructions. They gave him a light compression stocking to wear. I asked the nurse if the sock had to be removed when he went to bed . She said: patients sleep with the soon on here. Well, that was the wrong answer. He was home for 2 days, & when he removed the stocking, his shin/ankle was so much worse. We went to Community Hospital, where he again was admitted for another five days! He lost 3 weeks of pay, because he had to keep his leg elevated 90% of the time.. If he got accurate discharge instructions, he wouldn't of been hospitalized a second time, not to mention all the additional hospital/doctor bills. read more

I have lower back pain, so my doctor wanted me to get an MRI and go to a back surgeon. I got the MRI at Pinnacle with no problems, but had to wait 2 months for an appointment UIC for my back surgeon. I picked up a copy of the MRI, waited the 2 months and drove into Chicago. When I gave him the CD, he informed me that it wasn't MY MRI. Pinnacle gave me the MRI of a lady that I do not know. Sharing her medical information with me is a crime, I believe, but the worst part was wasting 2 months and an entire afternoon trying to see the specialist and all he could tell me is come back with the correct CD. Of course, he's booked for the NEXT 2 months. I have to suffer through more time and HOPE they give me the correct CD. GO ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR TESTS / TREATMENT!!!!!! read more

I just had surgery at Pinnacle on Monday and I am overwhelmed by how great the hospital and staff were. They've definitely ruined other hospitals for me. The staff was kind and knowledgeable. They helped calm my nerves and alleviate any fears I had before the surgery. After surgery the staff was so good and attentive. My nurses Jessica and Cassie were outstanding and deserve the highest praise. The room was gorgeous as well. Every visitor that came to see me couldn't believe a hospital room could be so nice. Very UNorganized, my Dr. faxed an order 3 times, each time they can't find it. Drove there 1st time, they turned me away saying "they didn't have order", 2nd time I RETURNED their call to schedule it, they said "they had no order for me". My Dr's office faxed it a 3rd time, told me I could be a walk in, I drive there again, at first they can't find it AGAIN and then tell me "oh our Ultrasound guy is out till Monday(this is a Wednesday), we will call you then to schedule " . All this time (a week and 1/2) I'm walking around and might have a blood clot! Their orders are not in a computer, they are all over the place in paper form. Scary to think this business has people's health in their hands. read more

I went to Pinnacle to have a venogram. I had no idea this hospital even existed. I'm so glad I do now! Most places I have been are so overcrowded and the wait time is unbelievable. Everyone there really has it together. I was totally impressed! 3 nurses to one patient....what? It was insane! Great job Pinnnacle you made a very scary procedures a piece of a cake. read more

Horrible. Showed up for MRI. Had me there for a long time. Then called me back later in the week and asked me to come back (taking off more time from work in doing so). When I showed up there was no radiologist and no record of the appointment that they called me for. Very cavalier and no sense of shame or apology from anyone. I was told to hang around for at least 45 minutes to see if they could rally someone. Are you kidding me??? And oh yeah: if your doctor refers you there and insists? Make sure you understand the ownership structure. I found out that my Dr from Hobart ordered multiple MRI's that in hind sight should have been questioned. But now I know why: he gets income from Pinnacle procedures. They also messed up insurance information and so on. Just bad bad bad. I am not a bitter pill: just read up on this shop. Its jiffy lube for people. read more

Just had an outpatient surgery here. The surgeon was great as well as the nurses. My only concerns would be registration knowledge is lacking, No one knew where exactly I should sign in. They seemed disorganized. My initial nurse wheeled me through the waiting area to have one procedure done instead of going in the halls behind the lobby . I was embarrassed because I was in a surgical gown at the time, when that procedure was done. A different nurse did take me back to my original room in the back halls to not create embarrassment. She said going through the lobby is quicker, but they should not be taking patients in gowns through there! The mammogram tech and radiologist were fantastic and the surgeon was also great! I was there a total of 7 hours when I was told it would be 5. Two procedures were done though and tHings run slow here, but they are thorough! I recommend it for outpatient care! read more

I had a colonoscopy arranged through my doctor at Pinnacle. Everything was pre-arranged and when I checked in I verified one more time that Pinnacle was in my network. The procedure went fine, staff was great. However, a HUGE negative is that Pinnacle used an anesthesiologist who my insurance carrier says is "not in network" and they are trying bill me over $5K for 15 minutes of anesthesia. The company they used (AMS Northern Indians/Great Lakes Anesthesia) will not answer any calls and will not return any voice mails. Pinnacle is not going to bat for me, even though they chose the anesthesiologist. Pinnacle will not even check with the anesthesiologist to fix this. Very disappointing. If you go to Pinnacle, make sure to get in writing that any one who is involved in your care is in network with you insurance. I have a "cadillac" health insurance plan through one of the largest providers in the country, yet the anesthesiologist is "not in network". read more

I went to the immediate care at pinnacle because I was having flu and cough symptoms, when I got there I saw Dr. persavanto. He was very nice and seemed very knowledgeable. They took a chest x-ray's because I was having a hard time breathing. When I got home I received a phone call to come back because they saw something in my x-rays. I was hospitalized for five days and a pulmonary specialist there said that I had fungus in my lungs. I really like this hospital I would recommend it to anyone. read more

I had major back surgery and was in the hospital for a week. Care was above and beyond expectations and the hospital operates only for surgery and does not treat for infectious diseases thus reducing that possibility of post surgical infections. I was recovering from triple lumbar fusion surgery so I didn't have much of an appetite. The food was the only thing that might need improving. My daughter is in the medical field and she was mightily impressed with Pinnacle Hospital overall. read more

My husband had spinal fusion surgery here with Dr.Hyder. The surgery went great and his recovery has gone just according to schedule.The nurses at Pinnacle were very attentive and had great attitudes as did the physical therapist. During the 3 days he spent there, they even offered to set up a cot for me in his room if I didn't want to go home at night. The only thing they could have done better was to let me know what things I could do at home to make the house more suitable for him with the walker he had to use for the first 2 weeks. Otherwise, their performance was stellar.I would definitely recommend both this hospital and this doctor. read more

Long story short, I went to CVS minute clinic for strep throat last week. After $109 for the visit and $200 for lab tests from a throat swab, the nurse practitioner sent me home with instructions to drink water and take ibuprofen because "it's just a sore throat" until she gets the test results from the throat swab. Two days later, I could hardly swallow without crying. I tried getting a hold of cvs to see if my results were in so I could get actual treatment but after being on hold for 15 minutes, I wasn't able to reach anyone. At this point, I went to Pinnacle Hospital's Express Care. I wasn't starting my new job until the following week so I was uninsured. The doctor, Dr. Pesavento, knew this and said he didn't need to swab my throat for unnecessary tests so he prescribed me with an antibiotic and my throat felt a million times better within hours of my first dose! He was kind and gentle. He gave me his card and told me to call if I had questions or it didn't get better. I know doctors and nurse practitioners at express care clinics are overwhelmed with patient volume but he went above and beyond and actually helped. Pinnacle Express Care is actually less expensive than CVS too with a much nicer facility and you see actual general practitioners. I was tired of the long waits at hospital ER's in my area, so a couple of years ago, I went to Pinnacle Hospital for a cold I had. The staff was so nice. They kept me informed of the wait time and apologized each time for the wait. Within an hour I was seen, diagnosed and was on my way. I have used them many times for weekend or unexpected illness. I love the staff. One time I had a skin issue and couldn't get into a Dermo for months. The ER doctor said I needed to be seen ASAP. He left and when he returned he had an appoint set up for me with a Dermo. It turned out that I had precancer on my arms. They do have a radiology department that they normally schedule an appoint, but if a test needs to be done after hours,, they do call someone and they are there in less than a 1/2 hour. I feel the lower cost, the friendly staff is worth a 1/2 hour wait. I highly recommend Pinnacle Hospital to everyone. read more

My daughter and I took my grandson to Pinnacle's Urgent Care on August 10, 2016 because he had cut his wrist on a piece of glass. The doctor on duty immediately looked at his cut and opted to send us to St. Mary's Hospital in Hobart, Indiana, because he felt that his colleague, Dr. Retson, would be our best option.
