I can't say enough good things about North Shore & Brookline Orthodontics. I had the best experience, I'm so incredibly lucky that they took me in. I was in town with a tooth so badly cracked it might not be able to be salvaged, running out of time before the weekend and in pain. Even though I'm not a regular patient (I wish I were local and could be!), they squeezed in my appointment and Dr. Shamritsky saved the day. He was funny and kind, explained everything he was doing every step of the way, and even though I was so nervous he was able to perform an emergency root canal that didn't even hurt and I get to keep my tooth! Words cannot express my gratitude. Everyone was so professional and nice. No one wants to need an endodontist, but if you do, choose this practice. read more

Dr. Singh was recommended to me by my dentist, because I needed a root canal--- and I can't praise her enough. Not only was Dr. Singh highly competent and thorough, but she was kind and compassionate, as well. I also liked that she clearly explained everything that she was about to do, and why. Knowledgeable dentists and kind staff members. Dr. Roque and Dr. Pastore are endontists in the dental office, and they are absolutely wonderful. They are not only very talented specialists, but they care about the patient and make sure we are comfortable before and during the Root Canal Treatment. Their assistants and the front office team is very friendly and efficient. Everybody was smiling, it is for sure a nice dental office. Do not go here even for a consultation!! Total scam. You will end up being billed for drummed up consultation charges not covered by your insurance. I have no problem paying legitimate charges and will now need to pay again for a consultation elsewhere. Update: I wouldn't say you rectified this. You did the bare minimum to prevent me from going to the Board of Registration in Dentistry to file a formal complaint. You still had the gall to charge my insurance for this fiasco which means I will ultimately have to pay more down the road. I do not consider this situation rectified !!!!! read more

I have an enormous amount of anxiety having dental work done. My dentist referred me to North Shore & Brookline Endodontics for a root canal. The Brookline location was really close to home. First there was an appointment to evaluate the tooth and my level of anxiety. Right up till the day of the procedure....I wasn't convinced I would show up for the appointment (I've done it before!). Not only was the procedure painless (!!) I think I actually fell asleep a couple of times! Dr Yuri Shamritsky explained EVERYTHING as he went. Had a root canal today and was anxious to go but was beyond needing it. I saw Dr Shah and her assistant Tanya and they were wonderful. The only thing that really hurt was the needle to numb me. They made the visit great my explaining what they were doing. Dr Shah was very friendly and talked to me very respectful. Dr Shah also did a great job on the procedure and quickly. I highly recommend this practice. The lady at the front desk was awesome too. I had to wait over an hour due to an emergency visit that came in but Dr Shah and Tanya were constantly checking on me and saying sorry a lot. They also gave me a timeline since they were running behind. Great visit! Also appreciated a Saturday clinic. read more

Absolutely fantastic! Dr Singh is the best!! Would definitely recommend; got me in fast, work was fast, office was efficient, location was great, follow up perfect. Great empathy, compassion, knowledge and understanding. When you're in pain you want people that understand that and make it their priority to making you feel better. Pro tip-if you're in pain contact your dentist first-they will confirm if you need a root canal and can get an appointment here faster than you would be able to on your own. If you don't have a dentist try anyway as they are very compassionate but better to to your primary dentist first. read more

I had a root canal retreated at this office, I don't know the name of the doctor because if he did introduce himself, it must've been quick. **The actual root canal was fine**, but the experience was lacking. The doctor was very rough handed, pushing hard into my tooth and having to hold my jaw so he could push harder. I've had a root canal on this same tooth before, so I get it, but the corner of my mouth is still red and sore hours later just from where he was pulling. My bib was used as a table for a tool at one point so they grabbed a tool off of my chest which was uncomfortable. Nothing was explained to me about the procedure or the X-ray, I had to ask multiple follow up questions. They said there was a free check-in in a year and to "be sure to show up for it" but I tried to schedule this at the desk and they said they don't book out that far. I went to the restroom after I left and realized that my lips and my entire cheek were covered in bright white crusted saliva from the procedure - not the doctor, assistant, or front desk person had let me know. Like y'all just spent 1.5 hours in my mouth and let me pay over $300, but couldn't be bothered to clean up or at least let me know that I looked like I'd been foaming at the mouth? The procedure was totally fine but the experience was as non-empathetic and impersonal as possible. read more

I have a mixed experience with this office. . I was told by my general dentist and by my cosmetic dentist to re-do the root canals in my molar tooth before the process of bridge placement. I did not have any pain or discomfort with it, but two different doctors told me that it must be re-done if I would like to use it for a bridge. First experience (negative review - I would give it just zero stars): I set up the first appointment with Dr. Yuri Shamritsky as I thought for a treatment. During that appointment he told me that the visit was ONLY for the initial consultation and for an evaluation and a PLAN treatment, which was a surprise to begin with. I told him that I needed to re-treat the root canals of the tooth in order to place the bridge on it. He took the XRays, and he specifically told me that the all 3 root canals of that tooth MUST be re-done, because of: 1) short fill,: 2) old materials which are prohibited to be used in the USA now; 3)"the re-treatment is expensive and it does not matter how many root canals were going to be treated in that tooth (molar) one or all of them, because the cost would be the same". I agreed , because two other doctors had the same opinion. He scheduled the root canals re-treatment just in a week after the initial consultation, and it was Friday. The re-treatment of the tooth lasted 40 min. I was told to take Advil in case of any pain and to put a permanent filling in this tooth within one month after this treatment . I have a crown on that tooth and he told me that he tried to remove it before the treatment to save a crown. I said that anyway I was going to put a bridge on it and I did not need that crown. He replied that he FORGOT about the bridge... After that day I was just dying with a shooting tooth pain all the weekend long! ... The pain was UNBEARABLE. Advil did not help at all. I have never experienced this kind of the pain AFTER ANY dental treatment, including the extractions! My face became red, hot to touch and pain was shooting in the ear... I could visit the office only on Monday, and another doctor - Dr. Singh -prescribed me a strong painkiller and antibiotics. The pain took a week to subside. I could not sleep, eat and even drink because of the pain and swollen neck lymph nodes. Dr. Shamritsky did NOT call me back to check how I was doing after his treatment and after his colleague put me on antibiotics! Finally, after ALL that painful experience, time and money spent, I visited my cosmetic dentist in order to start the process of the bridge placement. However, I was SHOCKED to find out that the work was NOT DONE! Dr. Shamritsky did just 1 root canal instead of of 3 as it WAS PLANNED during his consultation! He never told be that he had done only one canal and did not treat the whole tooth! My cosmetic dentist sent me back to endodontics to finish the treatment! Second experience (positive review - five stars): Dr. Singh completed the tooth re-treatment. She did multiple XRays during the treatment ( which is good for a successful treatment). The remaining 2 root canals were also INFECTED! That's why I had a pain: I was left with an infection before! It took 2 hours to clean it up and to prepare the root canal for a new filling. I was really sorry not only for myself but for her as well, because she was expecting a baby at that time. I know it's was not easy for her to perform such a difficult and long treatment . I would like to THANK her for that job! She immediately prescribed me antibiotics and painkillers. I was getting ready for the second round of PAIN!!! BUT... I did not have ANY PAIN!!! The office stuff called me twice later that week to confirm I was doing all right after the treatment and scheduled the follow up appointment. It's been a week after that treatment and I hope this is the end of such a looong and painful story. My jaw is still a little bit swollen at the side of the treatment and I have a bruise, but it's turning yellow now)) read more

I hate dentistry. It's expensive. It's painful. It's time-consuming. But I hate shooting pain through my jaw that makes my front teeth throb, my ear ache and my neck tense for weeks on end. I called my regular dentist who said I shouldn't even bother coming to see her - I needed a root canal. EEP! I called up Brookline Endodontics at her suggestion and told them my story. Despite it being late in the day, they scheduled me for first thing in the morning and said I just needed to come in with my insurance information. Fast-forward through a night of riotous pain to me white-knuckling a clip board with intake information and getting the bad news - my insurance will only cover half. GUUUUUH... But on the plus side, unlike EVERY OTHER ORAL MEDICAL FACILITY EVER, Brookline Endodontics extended me an in-house, 3-month payment plan with no interest. SWEET. HUGE weight off my shoulders.... And then I got into the chair. Now, I am willing to stick a flaming torch in my mouth. I'll gladly shoot flames out of my mouth, too. But I HATE having needles in my mouth. Dr. Bradley was amazing. He explained the whole procedure to me from start to finish. He was jovial, casual, had a great bedside manner and walked me through the whole event. I was a bit anxious going into it, but as soon as that Novocaine hit, I was so incredibly relieved. He drilled down into the tooth, chatting and professional the whole time. I have a follow-up on Monday and then it's back to my dentist for a fill and crown that afternoon. I've avoided dentists my whole life, and if not for the high price of oral care, this experience has proven to me that there's nothing to fear. On top of that, the office has called me every other day since the procedure to make sure I still feel okay. They're really awesome! I have already recommended this place to a few friends. He did a great job correcting an old root canal that wasn't done properly by someone else. Amazing office. Dr. Fiza Singh saved me from the most agonizing pain of my life and made sure to follow up with me after working on my tooth to ensure I was doing well. I had went to another office before coming here and they couldn't fix me but Dr. Singh took her time and knew exactly what needed to be done to make me better until I can afford to get my root canal done and I am so thankful for her. I don't have dental insurance and she was able to make me comfortable for a good price. I will definitely be making this my primary dental office once I have insurance! 10/10 recommend. read more

Dr. Williams is great. He is one of those old-school endodontists who has seen it all and can give you a diagnosis when other dentists have failed. He has a very kind personality and explains everything to you in detail before it's done. Most importantly, he is honest and trustworthy. I now need dental surgery due to a bad root canal done by another dentist at this practice (who is no longer there, I might add!), and Dr. Williams is not going to charge me anything for the surgery. Clearly, he wants to make sure that every procedure done in this office is successful. Dr. Sarkis, another dentist in this office, did my dental surgery procedure and it solved my problems. More importantly, he did a wonderful job with the novocaine and the procedure didn't hurt at all, even though other people have told me that it does hurt. Bonus points for being a really nice guy who explains everything to you in detail and gives you all of your options. read more

They have all the best toys and are very good at what they do; however, do not pay them until you get a bill. They overcharge by about 33% and take a few weeks to give you back your money--in my case, it was my food money. Update: NS&BE told me my refund would take time, but my dental insurance company called them and they refunded my overpayment promptly the next day. If you have concerns regarding an overpayment (they charge your copay based on their full price by the looks of it, rather than an estimate of what ins will pay), I recommend you ask your insurance company call them. read more

I was referred to Dr Singh this summer by my dentist for consultation for Root Canal of a Front Tooth. When I came for my first visit I had recently lost my brother and had suffered a double fracture; so I was far beyond the usual anxiety I would have had anyway for this kind of appointment. I was in grief and considerable physical pain the day of my consultation and ended up in tears during the visit. This was when Dr Singh was reviewing my x ray with me and told me my tooth might not be able to be saved. She was not only professional, but so kind and empathic that I shared with her how difficult the past year had been for me which had nothing to do with this tooth. She told me she would try her best to see if a Root Canal could be done and the tooth saved, but wouldn't know if it was possible until the next appointment. The next week I returned and Dr Singh was able to locate a route to be able to complete the Root Canal and save my tooth. When she was done, she then told ME that I had made HER day! I could not recommend her (and her staff) more highly if you are in need of her services. read more

Made me feel very comfortable by talking about daily chores and keeping me engrossed in conversations. We were referred to this place because our daughter had tooth pain. They couldn't get their facts straight. We asked for laughing gas several times, but they didn't have it available we insisted yet again. Dr Singh told us she "completed" the task but actually was only able to do part of it, which was consistent with the fact that the bill was reduced. She told us she needed "some time" to put her notes together, and was also heard mumbling things to her secretary that she didn't want us to hear. When she called back later that evening, and my wife asked her the name of the procedure she had done, she had the nerve to say "google it." And only provided the name when my wife insisted. Other statements she made during the visit was that my daughter was too young to get a root canal, even though that's the reason for the practice and that pulling the tooth could have a bad impact on her face, which no other dentist has verified. In short, she is either incompetent, corrupt, or both. I would not recommend going there or trusting your children to this establishment. read more

Went here for emergency root canal work for a tooth infection two weeks ago and was treated by Dr. Fiza Singh and her assistant Julianne. I've had root canal work in the past on a different tooth and I have to say this has been a much better experience! Dr. Singh and Julianne explained the process and what I should expect and made sure the procedure was completely pain free! The followup visit the next week was free - they made sure to check the work and how I was feeling. Overall an EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE - the tooth finally stopped hurting! read more

I was referred to doctor Shamritsky for a root canal in May of 2015, and it was a generally positive experience. This was my first root canal. I had no pain or discomfort during the procedure at all, and a slightly longer than expected healing period, during which I did not take or need painkillers. The Dr. asked me a number of times during the procedure about the level of discomfort I had and seemed genuinely concerned about whether I was feeling any pain. I had a minor bit of gingivitis after the procedure which was discussed during the follow-up, which was probably normal. The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 was that I thought the fee was high (paid cash), at the extreme end of the Brookline spectrum. If one considers quality vs. cost, then I may have gotten a deal, as overall it was a totally painless procedure, and I have full use of the tooth again. read more

TERRIFIC DENTIST EXPERIENCE, COULDN'T HAVE ASKED FOR BETTER: I was really afraid to have a root canal. Dr. Singh was recommended to me, so I had a consultation with her and she was great. It turned out I wasn't able to schedule the root canal on a day that Dr. Singh was available, so I scheduled the procedure with Dr. Yuri Shamritsky. He did remarkable work. Seriously. Just from a pain point of view I was really worried because the last dentist (who he filed the tooth down and put a temporary cap on it) couldn't get my jaw numb enough after 5 shots of Novocain. I was still able to feel the work slightly, which made me nervous. Dr. Shamritsky was able to completely anesthetize the area in two shots. I didn't feel a thing. Not only that, he was incredibly nice, seemed incredibly skilled, worked very fast, and kept me informed with what was happening. It was a difficult tooth with a crack in it, and I had heard that if anyone could save the tooth it would be Dr. Shamritsky. And he did it! It was such a painless and pleasant (as pleasant as going to any dentist can be) experience that I'm absolutely not afraid of the idea of every having to have another root canal. If I do, I genuinely will feel comforted that Dr.Shamritsky is around. Weeks later I went to a dentist to have the permanent cap put on, and both the dentist and the assistant were looking at the X-ray of the work that Dr. Shamritsky had done on my tooth, commenting on how remarkable the job was.
