I got a great vibe from him right away - caring, calming, compassionate, honest. Over the next few days my pain got substantially worse. After a sleepless night, I found myself contacting Dr Peterson's office in the wee hours of a Sunday morning, practically panicking, asking when they could take me in. To my surprise, Dr Peterson himself responded very quickly, saying they would be able to help me that afternoon! My experience with Dr. Peterson was amazing! I was referred by my general dentist after I noticed some pain and swelling on the gums above one of my teeth - turns out I needed re-treatment of a tooth that I got a root canal on 10+ years ago :( Even though I was 40 minutes late to my appointment due to public transit delays, Dr. Peterson still waited to see me!! (it was completely reasonable for him to cancel my appointment, charge me a late fee, etc but he did not). I was so thankful since I had travelled a long way to see him, and he was super understanding. Dr. Peterson was very reassuring and clear in explaining the issue, and he patiently answered my questions as well. He even started the first half of the re-treatment procedure during the same visit, to begin the healing process and make the next appointment easier. Both of my re-treatment appointments were quick (less than 40 minutes each), smooth, and painless (as expected with retreatment). There was slight discomfort and vibration at times, which he prefaced from the start so I was mentally prepared. He showed me the before and after x-rays so I could see the healed and re-treated roots, in addition to taking his word for it. It was a big tooth with deep roots and rather than rush and potentially complicate things he had me return for a second visit to finish the job right. When I cracked my tooth on a Saturday at 2:30pm, I was in excruciating pain. I frantically called my dentist who referred me to Dr. Peterson and said he was already on the way to his office. He spent time talking through every step so that I knew what was going on and the whole procedure was painless and great. When my dentist of 20 years, who I totally trust, gave me the bad news that I needed my first-ever root canal after I lost an old crown, he sent me to Dr. Peterson and told me "he does great work." I wasn't in pain at the time, but Dr. Peterson's office was really vocal about offering to help me find the earliest appointment -- in this and in a lot of other things they did, it's clear that they're used to working with people who are in a lot of pain and want to help ASAP, without making anyone feel like they have to push to get attention. That's pretty unusual, and even though I didn't need it I thought it was pretty impressive. I don't have any other root canal experiences to compare it to, but this went really smoothly even though my tooth was a mess (lots of decay under the old crown) and took a long time to clean up. Dr. Peterson worked quickly and methodically, with quiet music playing in the background. We chatted when I could speak; he's a very nice guy and good conversationalist. He also made sure I understood what was going on with the tooth, which I appreciated. He followed up twice after the procedure via email to make sure I was doing all right, and to make sure that I knew he'd connected with my dentist afterward. I really liked that -- if there had been any problems it's clear that I could have had them treated immediately. It's now been three months since the root canal and everything is totally solid. I'd like to start by saying my wedding is 4 weeks away, so you can imagine my panic when I noticed the top of my front tooth was becoming discolored. My dentist, Dr Login, recommended Dr Peterson as he thought I may be experiencing a dying nerve. Dr Peterson's office fit me in immediately for a consult and determined it was true and I'd need a root canal. Clearly this made me nervous so close to the wedding but he fit me in his schedule two days later!! The procedure was quick, no more than 45 minutes, and no more painful than a filling. I went right back to work after, my coworkers were shocked. The office also called to check in on me the next day which I thought was nice. I saw the color of my tooth go back to white before my check in happened the following week, which was amazing. I will start with how I came to see Dr. Kevin Peterson. I had an infected tooth and it started hurting me right before my vacation! I went to my dentist first where they told me I need a root canal. My tooth was infected and the anaesthesia wouldn't numb the pain ! It was really hard for them to work it as it was hurting me really and really bad . Of course they couldn't finish the work because I was shaking and crying out of pain and I was told that the only way is to remove the tooth! I was against removing it and decided to get the second opinion! I googled and I found dr. Kevin very good rated and close to where I live. We called the office and he took me right the next morning! When we arrived the office was very clean ! Dr Kevin took a picture of my tooth and told me that we need to treat the infection first so he can do my root canal without pain. He prescribed me medications for 4 days. He emailed me so many times to make sure I'm doing ok! Every time I had a question to him he would email me back and answering all my questions and concerns! He is very and very nice and he took care of me so well! I just trust him from the first day I meet him ! He emailed me to made sure I come in today to not miss work as I had my appointment for Monday. He is just Incredible as a dentist and just as a person! The best ! My root canal took about an hour today and I felt nothing ! My body was completely relaxed including my face muscles! At some point I thought I was getting my lashes done and I'm serious! I've had a lot of dental work over the years and this was by far my worst experience. My root canal procedure was extremely painful and after repeatedly asking Dr. Peterson to administer more Novocain he finally gave me a small amount. After x-ray Dr. Peterson had to drill again, during which the pain in my mouth continued. This root canal was one of the most painful experiences I have ever had. I politely (I thought) complained about the lack of anesthesia and Dr. Peterson was unapologetic and seemed irritated. Dr. Petersen seems like a nice guy and I like that Mary Jane called to check up on me the day after the procedure. I got a root canal done by him and he did a very thorough job. After the procedure, he took an x-ray to make sure it looked good and he noticed that he missed small section, so he asked if I could come back for about 15 minutes one day the next week because it would be "too much" for me (the patient) to do it then. I let him know it would not be too much and I'd actually prefer to do it while I was already there instead of having to take off work again. Then, then he said that he couldn't do it right then because he had another patient...ah, the truth. It bothered me that he wasn't just up front with me from the beginning. If he said he had another patient, I'd understand. He also has a way of talking to adults like they're 5 years old, which I didn't really care for. read more

I had a large filling fall out a while back and couldn't get a new one since the cavity was too close to the nerve. Fortunately, I was referred to Dr. Peterson for a root canal. As soon as I began to feel pain I emailed him with my insurance info and some x-rays of the tooth, and received a quote for the procedure in less than 15 minutes. Even though I assured him that I didn't require immediate treatment, he suggested that I come in on Saturday morning (I initially emailed him Friday afternoon). When I got there, he told me that the root canal should feel no different than a routine filling and that I shouldn't feel any pain or discomfort. About 40 minutes later, I was fighting sleep just as the procedure was completed. The appointment was super quick, and I experienced absolutely zero pain whatsoever. He even followed up a couple times over the next week to make sure that I wasn't experiencing any issues or discomfort. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely go back to Dr. Peterson if I need more dental work down the road. read more
