You can get everything from your traditional lavender oils and scents, to lavender and rosemary salt, to lavender soaps, and lavender plant itself. They even have an option where you can pick your own lavender, stems and buy lavender plants, or even seeds to grow your own. They've got pretty much everything! The folks around the place are super friendly, and you can watch them make some of the products if you come at the right time. This is definitely one of those little hidden gems that is super down to earth and real. Totally worth of stop if you were looking for a nifty little activity during your visit to the area. Just grab a bucket and start your adventure! The staff advised that a full bucket is about 5 pounds worth of cherries. Walking through the aisles, there are different types of cherries to pick. 1. Tart cherries -good for smoothies, but it really is tart. My boyfriends calls them cherry bombs because of that tart bite. I only liked it because the seed stuck to the stem. 2. Dark red/purple - extremely sweet! And they are so plump!!! These were so good 3. Ranier - of course this is the biggest reason I wanted to go cherry picking. So delicious and tastes way different than in Utah (where I'm currently living) and the grocery stores. We…read moreopted to go for the adult only retreat as our youngest child (the only one left) had no desire to go and if we weren't taking our kid we certainly didn't want to deal with anyone else's. Going into this trip I didn't know much, other than they had horses and that was what I wanted to do - ride horses. We arrived really early in the morning and was picked up at the airport, which was the size of a postage stamp. It was really easy to find our person, who grabbed our bags and loaded them into the trailer while we sat in the van. Met some others that were on the trip on the way to the lodge. Upon arrival they had a tent setup in the front where they greeted us, gave us a bag with a map of the property and list of that week's activities, told us our rooms weren't ready yet but they would find us when they were. Now - I'm going to note that they said they would find us when our room was ready and I didn't think they really would. We continued to check in to see when the room would be ready, but then later I saw them literally hunting someone down to give her keys - so they will indeed find you. When we checked in the room was a standard lodge room, we had a fridge but our friends didn't, in mentioning this in passing to the staff they brought them a fridge. Talk about service! We spent the next four days riding horses mostly, but also enjoying the company of the other guests and hearing stories from the staff. While we were really heavy on the horse rides we also enjoyed taking a tour of the elk preserve and clay sporting. We got a ride up to the yoga spot for a view (weren't too keen on hiking up there) and spent a good amount of time in the bar with fellow guests chatting up the staff. Everyone was amazing and so accommodating- I had said it was a bucket list trip but the staff at the Averill ranch has me seriously considering returning next year. Thank you for the memories.

The hostess saw us behind the group and offered for us to sit at the bar if we were comfortable with that, which is what we would have wanted anyway. I appreciated them noticing us behind the large group and not making us wait while they figured out the seating for the others. There were so many options on the drink menu that it was almost overwhelming! I opted for a flight so I could try multiple small samples before committing to a large glass of anything. The bartender was very helpful in explaining differences between the varieties and helping me choose ones that would match my palate. It was a great experience!
