Came in for a pedicure via an appointment and they made me wait 40 mins before my nails got started with. What's the point of an appointment if you can't honor it. I specifically wanted to avoid the crowd due to pandemic conditions and asked for a time when I could go for the treatment right away but this was an unfortunate turn of events. I really debated if I should give them 2-3 stars despite the wait issue but the service itself was awful for the $30 they charge and super rushed. This was the quickest pedicure of my life.. they finished it in 10-15 mins super rushed. I also heard several other people after me saying they have appointments and all had to wait a good 20 mins or more before they could get a seat. I don't recommend this place at all. If you want a last moment treatment and don't have reservations anywhere perhaps can walk in here because there is literally no difference between calling them and doing an appointment VS a walk in. Never coming back. read more

I usually like this place but my last experience was terrible. I got my eyelashes done by Kayla and it was $60 even though my lashes were coming off 6 days after getting them done. Normally it's $80 but she gave me $10 off which is crazy! She said it would last 2-3 weeks. Definitely not worth it! She also really wanted me to write a good review and sent me a copy of what I should write on yelp. I didn't want to do this because I wanted to see if my lashes would stay and they didn't. All they want is good reviews and charge you crazy amounts of money for a low quality job. Will not return read more

LOVE this nail salon. I moved to Milwaukee a year ago and this is the best hidden gem. I was really missing my nail salon in Chicago at first. I tried a few salons until I finally found North Shore. Andy is my go to. I honestly love him. He is the best of the best. Way better than my nail place in Chicago. I am also super clumsy and have broken my nails doing dumb things, he fixes them at any time without question. I have started bringing friends and family here and everyone loves it. It's super affordable and they do a perfect job. If you are looking for a new nail place, look no further. I am so thankful for Andy and for North Shore Nails! I went in for a gel full set. Instead of a gel set, the nail tech used acrylic and no chip polish. My total was $70, so I'm not sure if I paid for the gel set and got acrylic, or actually paid for what I got. I wish the nail tech would have told me that she wasn't able to do the design I had wanted, so I could have picked something different. She couldn't draw the outline of the flames, so she stuck silver stickers to my nails and then painted gold over them. You can clearly see the stickers, where they end, and that the gold nail polish looks very sloppy. When I got into the car, I also noticed that a few of my nails are very badly shaped. I moved to Milwaukee from Orange County, Ca and was in dire need of a polish change for an event I needed to go. I found North Shore Nails when there was a scheduling mix up at another salon and my appointment was cancelled. Kayla (the salon owner) was able to get me right in and even stayed a little late to make sure my nails were perfect! I've been going to her ever since. Her creativity and attention to detail are second to none. No design I have ever suggested is too much. Everyone at North Shore Nails is always welcoming, the salon is super clean, they have every color you could possibly want and are always able to accommodate last second appointments. the workers were really nice but the nails are terrible quality and they cost $80! the acrylic is thick, the color is off and the lines are not well done. the red polish isn't filled in on the french tips either. Not worth my money and want a refund. read more

I love this place, the price for dip nails is $42 (with cash) which is nice compared to other places nearby.. but I would not suggest getting dip here. After 3 days, a nail had chipped and broke, and within 2 weeks almost all my nails have chipped and broke off. The price is wonderful but if you're trying to grow your natural nails, go somewhere else higher quality. read more

i have been to countless nail shops, at all different levels, and multiple cities & suberbs, for the last 25 years and north shore nails has surpassed all of them! they are very kind, clean, and talented. granted noone is perfect (as i see ppl posting for a poor mishapen nail- which you should have addressed right then and there!) and sometmes there could be a little wait time or not quite what you wanted. i say to that, this is a service provided to you, you should be aware of how your nails are looking when you are walking out, and have it corrected right away. i know they would for sure make it right! speak up in person ppl, not just behind the keyboard... read more

This is such a cute little place, with a very convenient location, and cute little handwritten signs, that I hate to report my manicure chipped right away. And I totally got what I paid for. The prices are very reasonable. Maybe my facial waxing was slightly more painful than normal. She did seem to pluck a few extra hairs out individually, which hurts. Please understand I am a super easy client where eyebrows are concerned. All they have to do is follow the lines I already have and not lop a piece off. The whole thing does look nice though. I'll probably come back. read more

Overall very mediocre experience. Staff was very friendly and my friend and I were able to get a gel manicure and basic pedicure in about an hour. Initially seemed like a good experience but within a couple of days my manicure started to crack, which I've never had happen to me before. My cuticles looked worse than before I went in. My friend and I got our nails done on a Wednesday and by the following Sunday both of us experienced lifting/peeling polish and the polish used for her pedicure had bubbled. The price seemed great at first but now I truly understand why it was so inexpensive. My first time trying out this salon and will not be going back. read more

We got my bridal parties nails done here! When we arrived, it seemed the entire staff was just as excited as we were for the big day! We booked an appointment for 6 about a week out, and once we arrived, the door was opened for us and we were all able to be seated at stations right away. They did a great job on everyone's nails, the price was less than typical shops in Milwaukee which is an extra bonus, but there was no lack in quality! I've been coming here for years and would never go anywhere else! Unlike many other nail salons I've been to, the staff is so friendly and fun to talk to! They remember your name and how you like your nails done. They will do whatever design or shape you'd like even if they haven't done it before they will figure out how! I've never had to wait longer than 5-10 mins, even as a walk in. I usually get a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. Both last nearly a month (and I am rough on my nails due to my job). I used to get my eyebrows waxed here as well, they do a great job! Definitely my favorite nail salon in milwaukee!! I just wanted to add that over two years later I still have only been coming here and still think it's absolutely the best! I recently tried a different Salon in a high end hotel downtown Milwaukee as I was staying there and 4 out of 10 nails chipped within a week, 6 out of 10 chipped nails later I've learned my lesson NEVER to cheat on north shore nails again!!!!! They last easily 3-4 weeks here and never chip, only need to be redone due to outgrowth. Love north shore nails! read more

I went into north shore with the recommendation of a friend from work. Initially i thought the place was nice they had a TV going and it was relaxing. That being said I just needed a fill on my acrylics and i chose a green color.. it looked great immediately after but after two days 3 of my nails peeled off i assumed that the polish was the problem so i went back in and they fixed it. i picked a slightly different green to avoid the last problem. Unfortunately, this didn't work a week after i got them done most of my nails were chipped and/or peeling off. Do not waste your time here!! I have been going here the past couple years and every time it has gotten progressively worse. It is not longer convenient for the location and price. The prices have significantly gone up and the quality has gone down. The owner is the worst one. All he cares about is getting you out of his chair and the next client in. I went in for a full acrylic gel set and it took under 30 minutes. It should never take that short of time. As you can see in the pictures below, the paint job is sloppy and barely lasts. So unfortunate to see a business go down hill but I can no longer support. The owner stops in the middle of your service to go outside and smoke a cigarette. Its quite disgusting. I feel as if they do not care whatsoever about the quality or care of the client, and more about the quantity they take in. My nails never last more than a week. So disappointing. read more

I decided to go to north shore nails because it *was* the highest rated nail shop near my house. The price was reasonable, but you definitely get what you pay for. I got a fill here and it was the biggest mistake of my life. My nails were rushed. The acrylic was lumpy and she did not attempt to fix it, she just kept going. She gently filed my nails, if you can even call it that. She just swiped over each side once. She left nail polish all over my fingers. The polish did seem hard to work with and it was pooling up all over the nail, but she didn't even bother cleaning the mess up. If all of that wasn't bad enough, two of my nails are ALREADY beginning to lift and it hasn't even been a full week since I got them filled. When I first got my full set at a different shop, I didn't start getting lifting until the 3rd week, which is about what you would expect getting acrylics. BUT, even if I did have a 5-star experience, nothing makes up for the blatant racism displayed by an employee on social media. If I'm correct, she's not even just an employee but the owners wife. Money talks, and it's important for everyone to spend their money with people who make everyone feel welcome. This is not that place so I will not even be calling to complain to get these fixed, because I will not be supporting a business who is racist towards the black community. North Shore Nails, the black community spends the most money in the beauty world out of any demographic, and I hope you feel the absence of their support monetarily. If you aren't black and decide to patronize this establishment, ask yourself why. Because it certainly can't be because they're outstanding at what they do... LOOK at my nails! read more

The owners were very nice! But I'm unhappy with my nails I usually don't come here since I had a bad experience before, which is totally my fault.. my nails are super chunky no shape to them at all I didn't even get what asked for so I settled for what they could do so I suggest if you want gel acrylic go somewhere else and read the reviews! Not to be a Karen loll....They are already growing out already and I asked for a coffin shape and these are squared... this was a waste of $ I usually spend over 100$ so I'm not so upset about that but if your paying for a service and don't receive it ... it's pretty annoying, I never want to be disrespectful but I will speak up from now on. read more

My pedi was amazing; clearly, if I'm filling this out as I sit here with my toes under the dryer. For starters, I stubbed my big toe earlier today and was a little apprehensive to still come with my friend. I told the lady working with me that Id hurt my toe. She was extremely careful and attentive of that. The woman was also extremely thorough and my massages rocked. I paid only a few bucks extra for the deluxe pedi... Totally worth it. If definitely come here again and recommend this place to my friends. read more

I wanted a nice pedicure and it was awful... I went in and no one said hi they said what do you want done and I had to tell them a pedicure. I didn't like there hard massage chairs. Also there walls were sick, gross and a gross color! Spilled nail polish all over them and golf quotes all posted up! GOLF Quotes...really? Also they had news on and who wants the news on while your trying to get a relaxing pedicure, put on some nice music on or something. Two of the employes were killing bugs and they thought it was funny, I think GROSS! My nail tech was also sick... and her tools were dirty looking. No one else was in there all day, and there sign in sheet had no one on it, which I should have taken the hint there but i thought I would give them a try...never again! Also they did NOT have a license to be doing waxing, and while I was there someone came in for a waxing, that's illegal.... uhhhhh enough said. read more

I took my daughter to get her nails done for the first time as a birthday gift. Our experience at North Shore Nails was fantastic! Andy was incredibly friendly and professional especially with my daughter. He made her feel extra special by generously gifting her a cute plush toy on top of giving her a full acrylic set. Kayla was patient and did a great job with art work. I received a pedicure and a gel set. Very satisfied with the outcome. We will definitely come back for the excellent service. The salon enforced face masks while keeping surface areas clean. Overall, salon was hygienic with access to hand sanitizer & shielding at each station which made us feel safe & comfortable. Went there for a mani/pedi with my sisters as the start of our weekend together. I have never been there before and my sister is a regular! We made appointments because it was as they opened on a Saturday morning and the as the morning went on they got really busy! I had the good fortune to get a young woman named Diana, what a blessing! She was fantastic and a sweetheart to talk to! She did both mani/pedi and both were perfect! I would definitely recommend North Shore Nails and ask for Diana! I have been coming to this place since I was 14 years old, I'm about to be 19 and I'm probably the pickiest person what comes to my nails and this place is like home away from home for me. I love the sense of community they manage to build in Shorewood and Milwaukee and will always feel guilty if I'm in another city getting my nails done cheating on North shore nails. 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone plus they are so good about being sanitary for pedicures which is always a big concern for most people! Every two weeks, I have the most wonderful nail experience. Kayla has introduced me to the DIP manicure. It is great for my nails and lasts at least 2 weeks. My nails are so strong . I love the eyebrow coloring and facial. My skin feels sooo great. Kayla knows so much about skin projects. I learn about face care, nail care, and dietary care,. Went to North Shore Nails for a Eyelash Extensions (full set) and they did not disappoint. I am amazed at how natural they look. Decided to stay and get my eyebrows waxed as well and they also did a great job with that. Owners are very friendly. Will definitely be coming back in the future. No matter who I get, I always have a great experience. You can walk in with pretty much whatever you want done (within reason) and they figure it out! They also do a great job asking for feedback during the service so if you don't like the shape, length, or color, speak up! truly the best, most detailed manicure I have ever had! All staff had on masks and gloves and the salon fully accommodated to covid requirements. Right when you walk in, they have (free) masks and hand sanitizer available and then plexiglass separating you from the nail techs. I was very happy with my experience. read more

She then told me "that's why I asked you if they're the same" which she never asked me. I ended up leaving because they were so rude without getting my nails fixed. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.
