I really can't say enough great things about North Sound Endodontics. As with most people, I didn't wake up on a Tuesday morning expecting to have to go to the endodontist later that day. However, a long night of bad tooth pain told a different story. I called North Sound Endodontics immediately when they opened at 8 a.m., explained my immense pain, and they were able to confirm my dentist's referral and have me in the chair by 11:30 am. A mere hour and a half or so later, I was pain free and my root had been successfully canaled. The staff here, from the kind of woman who answered the phone, to the front desk staff, to the assistants, to the endodontist herself, we're all first class. The facility itself was modern and clean. I felt safe in their hands, and heaven forbid I should need another root canal I would not hesitate to go here again. read more

What a terrible place. Don't go there! Six months ago I needed a root canal. My dentist's usual root canal specialist was having issues so I got referred to North Sound Root Canal. At first things went well: they were courteous and professional. Dr. Simcock introduced himself briefly. The procedure was going fine until they get to the part where they use a bleaching agent. I had root canals before and I don't recall anyone else using bleach. Anyway, the mouth cover must have been poorly locked in place because the bleach starts dripping down into my throat. Just imagine, sitting there with your mouth numb and wide open, barely able to breath, with bleach burning into your throat! I had to make them stop. The doctor reacted like he didn't know what was going on. Anyway, this was almost the end of the procedure, he finished off and I was out of there. Strangely, no one in there was willing to talk about what happened. Fast forward to today. I am sitting in front of the TV eating milk chocolate and the crown on that same tooth comes off. My regular dentist takes a look and finds that the root canal doctor had left a temporary filling instead of a permanent compound. There was no explanation on my chart as to why, nor any indications to my dentist to remove the temporary filling with permanent compound. Over time, the temporary filling degraded and the crown came off. My dentist was able to remove the temporary filling, cleanse the area well and seal it back. But after giving $2,200 to North Sound for the root canal, now I am looking at having to spend thousands of dollars more on a new crown due to the incompetence of Dr. Simcock and North Sound Root Canal Specialist. read more

Overall, I had to have two root canals done at once today, and it was still hands down the best dental experience I've ever had! The staff and Dental Specialists here are all wonderful! They also use high resolution equipment to PROPERLY diagnose a problem. Dr. Malhan was empathetic and took my concerns very seriously. He validated my assertion that the general dentist had missed the root cause of my pain, and discussed my options with me intelligently with me, rather than talking down to me. The dental assistants were knowledgeable about gentle. Katie did a great job of talking me through all the necessary treatments and options. Kat was very gentle when numbing my mouth, I didn't even feel the needle. Dr. Malhan communicated well and was gentle and efficient. They made me feel very comfortable with their ability to fix my pain. read more

I was referred to them for a possible root canal. They took an x-ray and the Doctor came in and asked me 2 questions, which I answered no to both and he said, "yep, you need a root canal". I was amazed how quickly he made this decision. After scheduling out a ways, I went and received a 2nd opinion since my tooth really wasn't bothering me. Come to find out my roots are completely healthy and I don't need a root canal. Run, run as fast as you can. Hard to believe that this clinic wasn't honest with me. Two days after being told I needed a root canal I was seen here. I was very anxious going into the appointment. But Dr. Severin was VERY warm, trans friendly, respectful, and professional. She even asked me about the spelling of my name and made an affirming statement about it and my path. The assistants explained everything to me and checked in with me throughout the procedure. I felt like I was in good hands. The root canal was completed in under one hour and seemed similar to having a tooth filled. When I checked out it was a breeze understanding my portion as they had called me one before the appointment to go over everything. Dr. Severin and her team rock!! I've never had such an over-the-top experience at an Endodontists Office in my life. Their excellent patient-centered focus and best practices treatment make them the only choice for me. I've always been a little apprehensive going to the dentist. So, when I had to get a root canal, I was so nervous. But the procedure was virtually painless. Other than the first injection, which was nothing, I felt no discomfort and was handled like I was the most important person on the planet. Dr. Carlson and his staff were amazing! The whole process of billing and procedure was explained to me on my initial call. From the moment I walked in the door I knew I was in good hands. Even in this time of Covid worries, they put me at ease as they showed me to my chair. His assistant explained in detail the procedure and answered every question I had, no matter how trivial. Dr. Carlson was very professional and personable. I've never had any dental issues and was super nervous about the whole thing. At the end of the quick hour that the whole procedure took, never once did I feel any discomfort or pain. And It's been 2 days now since my procedure, and again, no pain. I made a Yelp account just to review these guys. They are wonderfully kind and understanding humans and I had a completely painless and calm procedure done by them! Going in for a root canal I expected the worst but I'm serious when I say it was probably the best dental experience I've ever had by far. If I ever need another one (which I shouldn't), I know where I'm going. And if friends or family need it done, I know where I'll send them! I have always despised dentists. When I was referred to a specialist I was terrified about the process, the price and wheather or not my tooth could be saved. In the waiting room, I said to my friend that I wish North Sound would have held back on their overhead (the office is beautiful and super high tech) and kept their prices low. Who knew they could do both? Dental work is expensive if you don't have insurance or a lot of money but, prices at North Sound were not enormously higher than average dental prices. So, once I got past the money talk, and held my composure somewhat I thought, I took a deep breath to relax myself, then suddenly realized I'm about to have a root canal! The terror lasted just until I met Dr. Severin. She was casual and calm and seemed very confident. I felt right away from her demeanor that if anybody could save my tooth she could and she did. The procedure was quick, and, except for the evaluation tests she had to do, it was painless. She asked me several times during the procedure if I was doing O.K. and she explained what was going on as it went. At one point she told me that things were going very well, that there was nothing unexpected going on and also, she explained what I should expect in the way of pain after the procedure. Between Dr. Severin and her assistant, by the time I left I had a good understanding of after care. The single most comforting part of the after care instructions was that I was encouraged to call in any time of the night or day if something didn't seem right. If you're shopping for a dentist or a root canal specialist I'm sorry about that. But trust me, you can't find a better place than North Sound. Unfortunately, I've had to spend way too much time in dental chairs so I know from experience when I'm in good hands. This was such an occasion. Oh and Wow! How could I have treated this part like an afterthought? The whole staff, from the receptionists to the dental assistant were warm, friendly and professional, not to mention beautifully diverse. By the time I was on my way out the door I actually felt a little sad leaving them. They had all just treated me so well. That doesn't mean I want anymore root canals but the coffee there is good too. as it happens though, I don't think I'll be having anymore coffee on them in the very near future. NO PAIN! I recently had a root canal performed by Dr. Amber Severin, DDS, at the Bellingham clinic and was amazed at how well the whole procedure went. First off I was extremely pleased that they could treat me within one day of contacting their office as my tooth ache was quite severe, preventing me from working or sleeping. I was impressed from the moment I step into their modern office. All personnel, from the front office receptionist, the assistant, to Dr. Severin, were all professional and kind. I had never had a root canal before, so each step of the procedure was explained to me by Dr. Severin. Both the assistant and Dr. Severin showed compassion and professionalism to me throughout the procedure. Best of all, my tooth pain was totally gone! Dr. Simcock did a root canal for me at the Bellingham office. The procedure was quick and completely pain-free. The office was pleasant and modern with the kind of high-tech equipment that inspires confidence. Dr. Simcock thoroughly explained the procedure before and during the work. I expected, from my experience with a previous root canal, to have some pain in the days after the procedure, but there was hardly any--nothing ibuprofen couldn't fix. read more
