I saw Faith Bult for some dental work back in 2006. They put in a filling that ended up not staying in. When I went back to get it redone, the assistant started drilling on my tooth before the novacain set in even though I had told them my body is extra sensitive and needs more time than most people for it to set in. She drilled right on the nerve (I didn't realize she was going to start drilling so I couldn't say no in advance), and it was the worst pain I've ever felt. It was horrible. I saw blazing light and my feet flew up over my head. They let the novocain set in after that and finished the filling. But the new filling ended up not staying put either, it rocked back and forth. I called it quits then (I should have after the first filling), and went to another dentist who, upon looking at my tooth, asked me where I had gotten the work done. When I told her, she said, "Ah yes. We've seen many of her patients over the years. I'm sorry you experienced that." They couldn't put another filling in because Bult had drilled so much/wide that there wasn't room, so I ended up needing a crown. I've experienced ongoing pain from that initial appointment for 20 years and will likely need a root canal soon. I feel clear that if the initial cavity was filled correctly jt wouldn't be in pain (I've had other cavities filled without any problems). Bult never replied to my feedback, and never owned up to the mistakes of either filling or the drilling without novocain. I simply advise you to go elsewhere. read more

This dentist is a scam! I was told my insurance was accepted, paid a co-pay much greater than I normally would at my old dentist, and still got charged an extra $25. Never in a million years would I recommend this dentist, not to mention when I came in for the appointment they had me waiting for an additional 20 minutes after the scheduled start time. read more

Terrible, I had gone in because my tooth was cracked and they placed a temporarily crown on it but aggravated the nerves resulting in a root canal. Definitely do not recommend. They were not even apologetic about it or anything. read more

Horrible experience!! Several years back had this dentist replace my 2 front crowns....because they had been root canaled prior she used no novocaine. As a result my gums were in tremendous pain. One of the crowns was super irritated and eventually fell out. I discovered that a piece of gauze had been left between the gum and back part of the crown. She replaced it but told me that l need implants and that they would cost 5 thousand dollars per tooth. Insanely pricey and terrible experience. Would not recommend. read more

She is the worst ever so unbelievably unethical and when she BOTCHED me , there was never a sorry , but put on a antibiotic witch never did anything and couldn't correct her malpractice in my mouth ....I had to live with a botched lip for over 6 months ..... this town is knowing who she is and how she practices and how her employees have known all along what she's come in like to work ..... they've left her , For soooo many reasons PLEASE DONT GO to Her , unless you want to spend $$$$ to be Botched with horrible work , ...... she's really a bad practitioner in the field of dentistry and facial cosmetics...... I have gone to this practice for a year now. I had a front filling done and a month later it broke off. I came back in to get it fixed (for no charge which was good), but 3 months later the filling is yellowing and chipping. I do not drink coffee or eat sugar. When I asked them about this they said it was normal wear and tear and the filling would have to be redone every couple of years. My insurance company didn't cover all of this filling so I notified the office that I would be contacting the insurance company myself. The office was very persistent on calling me for payment. I have moved to Canada and no longer have insurance in the states. I called the office to ask to get my scans (including a panoramic whole mouth xray) sent to the office in Canada and they said that there was no record of this xray being done. I remember being charged for this and having it done so I called and explained to them that I had it done around my birthday before my insurance expired. After searching through my files, they eventually found the xray and said they would send it to the new Dentist. However, this was never included in the files and some blank files were sent over. When I called back to ask about this, they said it was a process to send files and they needed more notice. I am still confused why they are having trouble finding my panoramic xray in my files. Overall, Dr Bult seems friendly and it is nice to have an office with all women staff. I would use caution when it comes to general dentistry, the practice does not encompass a holistic view and there is no mention of nutrition and prevention. read more

Growing up, I've never ever had 1 cavity. I went in to see Faith Bult & she said I had FOUR. I decided to get them filled, but that was a bad idea; it was worse than getting my Wisdom Teeth removed. I could feel her drilling in my teeth, and I had to stop her mid procedure because it was too painful without more numbing medication. After the procedure, I was in excruciating pain (like I said, worse than Wisdom Teeth removal) & I had huge bruises on my cheeks from the procedure (not gentle at all) for 1-2 weeks which made me look like I was punched in the face. That was a year ago and those teeth I got filled are worse than ever and are now very sensitive. Overall, it made mouth hurt instead of feeling better. The hygienist I usually see is very kind; however, I recently went in for a cleaning and there was a fill-in hygienist who had no idea what she was doing & didn't floss my teeth, barely polished my teeth, and would rinse my mouth without allowing me to suction (I had to swallow)...YUCK Dr. Bult once again told me that I have more cavities but I'm not going back. I'm finding a more professional place. read more

I had to find a new dentist in Bellingham because my school/work schedule did not permit me to go home for my regular check up. I wrote a review for them immediately after my check up and gave them an amazing review. They have a really friendly staff and Dr. Bult is nice enough but I left the check up with 6 cavities to be filled (very unusual for me). I made 2 follow up appointments to have my cavities filled. During the first visit, she told me my eyes were pretty and then shot me in the mouth with the anesthesia, with no warning...Ouch. Overall the procedure was relatively painless but after the anesthesia wore off I was in so much pain that I had to bring an ice bag with me to work. The pain persisted for the rest of the evening. The second visit, I asked about the pain I had experienced and they said that it was normal (though I have never experienced this with past fillings...) and we proceeded to prep for the next 3 cavities being filled. This was the worst, most painful dental experience I've ever had. After being prepped, Dr. Bult walked in and again was about to poke me with no warning and was going to do it in the WRONG spot!! I trusted her and didn't say anything (maybe my nerves are strangely connected, who knows.. I'm not the dentist) but thankfully the hygienist spoke up and reminded her where my cavities were and that we were not even working on the right side. Now that we were clear on where the cavities were, she proceeded to give me the shots. On my bottom left side, I ended up having to get 3-4 shots of anesthesia because I could feel her drilling my teeth.. First time I've ever had to raise my hand to stop a dentist during procedure. She moved on to the next spot and I again could feel her drilling my tooth. Again I raised my hand but this time she informed me that we were "almost there!" and so she continued to drill as I dealt with the pain. The good news? No pain after the procedure! More bad news? I had extreme sensitivity for months after the fillings. I couldn't eat/drink anything cold and couldn't even eat harder foods (chips, crackers, etc). They said that sensitivity is normal for a couple days, maybe weeks but months? No. Even to this day I have sensitivity from those teeth worked on during my first visit. I went back to my dentist from home and they informed me of the voids (air bubbles) in my fillings. I also had to have other fillings fixed to smooth out the edges and fill in gaps so that food stops getting stuck. During both visits, Dr. Bult seemed like she was working on several procedures at once and was in a rush to get back to other patients. Overall, bad experience. read more

I went to this dentist for 4 years and always felt off about it. I had never gotten a single cavity before, however after going to her I was getting 3 or 4 a visit. I recently went to a new dentist and they were shocked by the work that was done on my teeth. They have since started me on a plan to replace all of the filling that had been done. I also had a root canal that was a result of a poorly done filling. A hole formed in the filling that resulted in a root canal. DO NOT GO TO HER! read more

I gave the office my past dentist information. They never contacted them. Dr bult s office gave me xrays and assured me they were covered even though I had them at my last appt. My insurance didn't cover it and it was a nightmare dealing with her drones. While in the office, she preached about how coal trains will create thousands of jobs, how she is a local celebrity and always on the news...if she focused on her work and not her overinflated ego, then she would still be a shitty dentist. She gave me a composite filling and did a terrible job. My bite is now messed up and she won't fix it without more money. The filling chipped and now I'm forced to get more work. Ten years ago I would have given Dr. Bult's office 5 stars without thinking twice. I moved back to town recently and was down right excited to be a patient there again! Boy had things changed. The office staff is incompetent with insurance, dismissive of concerns and complaints, and just plain rude. After never having a cavity, and 6 mos after a previous checkup I had 4, 5, 9, and maybe 3 more. The number kept changing. The filling pits are deep, my teeth are so sensitive that 6 mos later I can still only chew on one side. The billing went ok, but the pain was something out of a horror film and I ended up missing days of work. I can't recommend her as my mouth seems permanently messed up now. read more

These ladies are so friendly and they genuinely care about their patients. After a two hour long teeth cleaning appointment in which I was led to believe that my teeth were perfectly fine (minus some gum problems and my teeth needing a basic cleaning), I was informed in probably the last 15 minutes that all of a sudden I had five cavities. With things sounding kind of sketchy, I had my old dentist take a look at my teeth for a second opinion and he told me there were two teeth that looked a little "sticky" but nothing serious enough to warrant drilling into my teeth... Seeing similar review stories, this makes sense to me. In a country where medical costs are astronomical, it's quite disgusting and unprofessional having people that are suppose to help you try to get money out of you. Watch out read more

My family and I have been going to Dr. Bult for nearly ten years. She was actually recommended to me by my dentist in the San Francisco Bay Area before I left California as one of the best dentists in my new hometown of Bellingham! I cannot say enough about this superlative dental practice: the office runs like a well-oiled machine, with a welcoming and efficient front office staff. The hygienists are pleasant, quick and skillful, and Dr. Bult is wonderfully knowledgeable, highly professional and has the latest in technical equipment. The "vibe" in the office is fun, friendly and respectful, and the staff all seem happy to be there. I must say that for me, going to the dentist is a truly enjoyable experience. I recommend Dr. Bult and her practice highly to everyone I know. read more

Dr. Bult is rude, expensive, and dishonest. I've been going to her for a couple years, and really wish I'd quit sooner. My latest fillings ended up costing three times more out of pocket than what they quoted me, and their only excuse was some lame bullshit about the kind of ceramic they used. Dr. Bult seems to find a way to get a rude dig in every time. She asked me if I was a smoker because I "smelled like it," and didn't believe me when I said I wasn't because she can "always tell these things." Another time during an early-morning appointment she accused me of being on drugs because I was nodding off a bit, and once again flat-out refused to believe I wasn't. She went out to the waiting room to tell my girlfriend that she thought I was high on something and would need to be driven home - in front of all the waiting patients. She's unprofessional, arrogant, and just plain nasty. A few of the assistants and hygienists are alright, but most are aloof and condescending. One outright made homophobic comments about me to a colleague in the hallway within clear earshot of the room I was in. Patient care is abysmal and the atmosphere is completely toxic. If you like paying ridiculous amounts of money to be slandered and harassed, go to Dr. Bult. If not, stay far away. read more

I sent them an email expressing my concerns and dissatisfaction, and received the rudest reply in return. I have NEVER received a more unprofessional reply from a business. I was with this office for four years. In that time, I had experienced terrific service from their hygenists since I only required a cleaning every six months. However, both times that I needed care from the doctor--simple fillings--they both had to be redone. The first time it was redone right in the chair because she did it wrong and caught it right away. The second time, I had to come back because the filling was cutting my tongue and she was blaming the assistant for it being done wrong and chewed me out as well. I took my care to another dentist and sent a letter to Dr. Bult's office to forward my records. I received a survey in the mail asking me to detail why I was leaving but since they expected me to put my own postage on it, I didn't return it. As it turned out, my records weren't sent and they claimed to my new dentist that I had not been seen since 2009. Unbelievable. I had been going every six months for over four years and my new dentist has little to go by because they can't get their act together at Dr. Bult's office. They finally found me in their archives. My family has been going to Dr. Bult for almost ten years now. The office is warm, inviting and impecably clean. The front office staff are friendly, helpful, quick to welcome you and are interested in you as a person. They are also very efficient in setting appointments, reminding you of appointments, squeezing you in, and finding out the costs involved in your procedures. I have never had to sit for more than five minutes in the waiting room, their scheduling is that precise! The hygienists are always friendly and do a great job, and unlike my past experiences in dental care, they do not hurt you, they are very gentle. In addition, this office is quick to address the issues of fear and anxiety in dentistry and will do what it takes to keep you comfortable. Dr. Bult has employed a group of women that truly operates as a team; they work together to take care of and prep the patient, so that Dr. Bult can come into the room and do the more complicated aspects of dentistry. Together they run an efficient and pleasant office. read more
