-They say that the best way to show your appreciation for a job well done is to hire a company more than once. I'd like to share my experience with North State Fence in Lillington, North Carolina. A few years ago, we were wanting to get a puppy. We knew that our large yard would be perfect for her to run around and play, but we needed to comply with HOA regulations for our fence. We wanted to enclose the entire yard. After spending a considerable amount of time researching local fence companies, we decided North State Fence was the one. There are several reasons we made this decision. The company is woman owned AND they support the Veteran community. As a woman Veteran owned business myself I was happy when the owner Nancie Brengle offered to have a consultation with us and see if they were a good fit. Boy where they! They came out for a site visit, and the planning began. Their pricing was fair and responsiveness outstanding. Soon, our fence was installed without any issues. Perfect match to the HOA requirements in fact, North State took care of the permitting too. Secondly, they stayed on quote and everything was done without any concerns. Now fast forward 4 years. We wanted a pool. We had a problem. Our dog would be in it 24/7. We had to produce a solution. Sure enough, a call to Nancie and everyone was on board with adding approximately 85 feet of fence with a gate! GREAT solution! Our new fence enclosed the pool off, allowing us complete control. We separated the yard with this fence, and she still has plenty of run/play around area. In addition, they switched out the opening direction the outer gates to comply with Town of Fuquay pool code. They also added 3 locks, 1 on each gate. They did all this for a tremendously good price and got us on the schedule quickly. With the many contractors we had to deal with on so many details, it was great not to have to worry about our fence. We highly recommend Nancie, Mark, Colby and the install team for their expertise, patience and most importantly ease to work with. Could not be happier! Need a fence? I needed a new fence for the backyard so I researched local companies. The first had great reviews but their quote was much higher than expected. The next company quoted a very low price (almost half of the first) which made me leery. Then I contacted North State Fence Builders. Their quote was higher than the cheapest but, not by much. Their reviews were also fantastic and they had an A+ rating with the BBB so I chose them. I'm glad I did. It's a family owned business and they don't contract the work out which seems to be the main cause of bad reviews with other companies. They came out for measurements and told me how they handle installations which made me feel like they knew what they were doing. They also handled the permitting process with the town. They came out yesterday with 4 workers and, in 7 hours, removed the old fence and installed a beautiful, new 330' fence. I asked for a little extra work to insure my 2 dogs can't dig under and they gladly did it for me. I gave the workers a good tip for a job well done. I'll have them back in a couple of months to stain the wood for me. Overall, I couldn't be happier and can HIGHLY recommend them to anyone. read more

After 3 years our fence has not held up and customer service afterwards was lacking. I called and emailed multiple times to get pricing to have our fence stained and they never returned calls or got back to us. We ended up having another company stain our fence and when the other company came out, they were concerned that our fence panels were built directly on the ground. We didn't understand why until we noticed the boards were soaking in water every time it rained and then started to rot and warp. A few neighbors used North State as well. Since we stained our fence it held up longer but all our neighbors have the same issues. One of our neighbors just had their entire fence from North State torn down and rebuilt by another company even. I wouldn't use them again sadly. read more

I received a recommendation from a neighbor who used Northstate and was very pleased. I called for an estimate and Colby came out within a few days. Once I received HOA approval, he put me on the schedule. My fence was completed within a few hours and I'm very pleased. The customer service from this family owned business is exceptional.
