    Door before.

So my review is late, as it's been a few months since I had my door installed. NTDD was amazing. Unfortunately they had manufacturing delays (not NTDD's fault) but they kept me informed at each step. I have a smaller Frenchie with a leg issue, so I needed the rise to be lower. I also wanted in-glass blinds. NTDD was able to do both. It looks so good to and the install itself was super fast...and more importantly...clean! I was concerned about the hot air coming in, but it is a tight seal and I haven't noticed any issues during this hot summer. You can't go wrong with this company. They are awesome. Attached are pics of my door before (my furniture hadn't arrived yet) and the door after. The white piece to the side is the insert when you need to lock the door.

Seal bulging out on right side.

It took a long time for me to write this, but I feel I have no choice now. I had a dog door installed in the glass for my German Shepherd and two smaller dogs, and honestly, I regret not paying more attention to the red flags early on. The communication was poor from the start--responses were slow, often taking two or three days, but I brushed it off at the time. After the installation, though, the seal started pushing out almost immediately. I didn't want to be a hassle, but when it became clear that something was wrong, I reached out. The response I got was that the glass was still under warranty, but not the labor. So, I would have to pay for them to come fix their mistake. I asked why the manufacturer couldn't cover the labor costs, and there was no reply. I called, I texted, but again, nothing. It's frustrating and disappointing. I guess I'll just chalk this up as a lesson learned: a five-star rating doesn't always mean five-star service.

What really says everything about them is that we happily make a one-hour trip just to see them--even though there are plenty of closer options available to us. From the very beginning, they've shown such genuine care, patience, and love for our dogs. They take the time to answer all our questions, never make us feel rushed, and always make sure our Frenchie's feel safe and comfortable. It's clear they truly care about both their patients and their owners. That kind of trust is hard to find, and they've completely won our hearts. We wouldn't think twice about making the drive every single time because we know our dogs are in the best hands possible.

A few weeks ago, I stated that once I was emotionally ready, I would file a formal complaint…read moreregarding the care my 8-year-old Great Dane, Baylen, received from Dr. Margaret Sterile at Pet Health Center in Decatur. I have now filed that complaint and have supporting documentation. On Thursday, December 12, 2024, Baylen, who had previously been healthy, became lethargic and developed blood in her urine. I contacted the veterinary office and spoke with Meghan Sterile. I explained my concerns and believed Baylen might have a UTI. Meghan suggested it could be a kidney infection but did not advise me to seek emergency care or ask additional questions that might have helped determine the severity of Baylen's condition. I brought Baylen to the clinic as scheduled. She was able to walk into the clinic on her own. Dr. Sterile examined her, took her temperature, and drew blood. She asked whether Baylen had received the Leptospirosis vaccine. When I said she had not, I was repeatedly questioned and made to feel negligent. Dr. Sterile quickly concluded that Baylen had Leptospirosis, told me she was contagious, and said I would be lucky if she survived the night. I was told Baylen had to remain at the clinic because she was considered zoonotic. I was not given the option to take her elsewhere, although the medical record later stated that I had been offered a referral. I begged for information about her treatment and asked to see her. I was eventually allowed to spend approximately 45 minutes with her, but I was not permitted to touch her. I was told she was contagious and that I could not return to see her before leaving. I was told that Meghan would be caring for Baylen throughout the night and that Baylen was doing well when I received a call at approximately 11:45 p.m. The next morning, around 8:10 a.m., I was told Baylen had become significantly less alert and needed to be transferred to a 24-hour emergency facility. I was never notified during the night that her condition had deteriorated. Had I known, I would have arranged an emergency transfer much earlier. I immediately transferred Baylen to VEG in Fort Worth. During the drive, Baylen appeared almost unresponsive. Approximately 20 minutes into the trip, she began crying and howling in severe pain. This was completely unlike her normal behavior, and I had never heard her make those sounds in her eight years of life. When we arrived at VEG, I was told within minutes that Baylen did **not** have Leptospirosis. Further examination, ultrasound, and testing determined that she was septic and suffering from a **spleen torsion and a ruptured uterus associated with pyometra**. By that point, her condition was too advanced for surgery, and she was unable to survive the procedures that might otherwise have saved her life. We were forced to make the heartbreaking decision to euthanize her. I believe Baylen's death could have been prevented if she had received a proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment when I first brought her to Dr. Sterile. I was later informed that the clinic did not have an in-house Leptospirosis test and that the test had to be sent out. To my knowledge, no confirmatory Leptospirosis testing was performed before Baylen was diagnosed and treated as though she had the disease. I also believe other diagnostic testing, including an ultrasound, should have been considered to determine the actual cause of her rapidly declining condition. I have concerns about inconsistencies in Baylen's medical records as well. The records state that I was offered a referral and that certain testing was performed, including a progesterone test, neither of which I recall occurring. I also have concerns about the timing and completeness of the chart notes. This is not my first concerning experience with Dr. Sterile. I previously had an incident involving my French Bulldog, Coco, who was heavily pregnant and approximately two weeks from her expected due date. Coco was brought in for an examination, but without consulting me about her breeding dates, progesterone testing, temperature, or other signs of labor or distress, Dr. Sterile performed an emergency C-section. The puppies were born prematurely and, despite extensive efforts to save them, all eventually died due to complications associated with being born too early. I have also witnessed other troubling incidents involving the care of puppies and believe there is a pattern of poor judgment, inadequate communication, failure to obtain informed consent, and insufficient diagnostic testing. I have reviewed other complaints and online reviews that raise similar concerns about Dr. Sterile's treatment of clients and animals, and I ask the Board to consider whether these complaints demonstrate a broader pattern. My grief over Baylen's death is immense. She was a beloved member of our family, and nothing can replace her. I believe Dr. Sterile and her staff failed to provide Baylen with appropriate care.

They don't smile, don't welcome you, just sit down until we call you. They are owned by a corporation and they say they don't know who it is. Yeah, right so there is no one to complain to so it's made right. The vets are fine but the others would rather you not even be there.

Immediately right off the bat we were uncomfortable with the overwhelming feeling of unwelcome behavior from the vet staff. The receptionist said " what do yall want?", which we replied with "umm, we have appointments for our dogs to get their wellness checks" and she commented "take a seat". We proceeded to sit outside of the waiting rooms for more than 30 minutes when no one was occupying them. She then proceeded to say "it is time to weight your dogs" so we brought them over and she never once acknowledged the dogs, gave them pets, or helped try to make them feel comfortable. Then, were told to go into a waiting room where everything just spiraled. The vet tech came in and talked with us about prices and what we wanted to get versus what we didn't want to get (this is important stay with me). We ask for a itemized bill to be able to see how much everything costs (as this was our first time here) and the tally came to over 750 per dog, which is not bad with labs yet still steep. We then proceeded to go over what we didn't not need yet, as we would come back the following month for anything but the necessities that were currently needed. Everything seemed to be clear as day and understood so we thought it was going good so far. They then came to grab our year and a half old golden to get his nails trimmed and we heard them through the door talking about our dog saying " HOLD STILL" (yelling at him) as he was actively crying and yelping" when they returned our golden they stated multiple times that "maybe next time we should give him sedation/anxiety meds so he is calm" but we are against that due to how loopy it makes him for days on end but they never asked our opinion. Then, they grabbed our 6 year old border collie whom was actively refusing to go back with them, which he never did at the previous vet. I don't remember a time where I had to encourage one of my dogs to go with a vet at the doctor's office. After all the shots were completed the vet tech came in and stated "the doctor will be right with you". When she came in she didn't acknowledge our dogs much just went straight back to the medicating of our 1 and a half year old golden for nail care. She then proceeded to say, " by the way your golden got the flu shot by accident, the tech took it off on the computer but didn't take it out of the basket so I will comp it but I gave it to him. I am just curious... who doesn't double check medications or ASK if our dogs have allergies before GIVING THEM FOOD(during nail care/ shots as our border collie has a sensitive stomach)!!! She proceeded to tell us that she gave our golden shots in all four limbs (which he is now currently yelping and crying every time he moves) and I don't understand why they couldn't just do it in two. I really do not know what is going on up there we have heard good things from family members but now they lost our business between the rudeness/cold behavior right when we got there to the overwhelming feeling of being rushed and not cared about what so ever. I have never been so mad with an establishment due to the care of my dogs that we see as OUR children. It is sad to say I am beyond displeased and utterly disgusted.
