I recently had some discomfort in one of my front teeth and scheduled an appointment with North Texas Endodontics. From the moment I walked in, the experience stood out. The front desk staff greeted me warmly and professionally, immediately setting a positive tone. I was then brought back for my initial diagnosis by the dental assistant, Denise. She was incredibly thorough, friendly, and took the time to explain what she was doing throughout the process. One thing that really impressed me was how advanced the technology was. The imaging and diagnostic tools they used were clearly state-of-the-art, which made the evaluation process feel very precise and reassuring. At many medical offices, you can feel like just another number, rushed in, rushed out, and treated more like part of an assembly line than a patient. That was absolutely not the case here. Every member of the team was personable and genuinely focused on patient care. I never once felt hurried. Instead, the staff took the time to make sure I understood everything and felt comfortable along the way. After the initial x-rays and testing revealed the issue, Dr. Berto came chairside. His chairside manner was exceptional. He carefully walked me through the images, explained exactly what the tests revealed, and discussed the procedure in a way that was both clear and reassuring. Again, it didn't feel like I was just another patient moving through the system, he took the time to make sure I fully understood what was happening and what to expect. The procedure itself was completed in less than an hour, Dr. Berto kept checking in with me to ensure I was ok, and the entire team continued to be attentive, caring, and professional throughout. Afterward, the post-procedure instructions were explained clearly, and both Denise and Dr. Berto made sure I felt comfortable before leaving. I'll also add something that really surprised me: a day later I have zero pain from the procedure, and more importantly the original tooth pain that brought me in is completely gone. That may just be my personal experience, but it's definitely worth noting. Overall, the combination of high-end technology, exceptional professionalism, and genuinely personable staff made this one of the best dental experiences I've had. Staff was very welcoming. I had to get a root canal on a tooth in a difficult area. I considered getting anesthesia because I was very scared and didn't think I could go through with it with just local numbing. Dr. Regan really put me at ease. I was told an audit would be done and I would receive the $650.00 that Delta Dental, my secondary Dental Insurance said that I should NOT have paid. Why am I the customer conducting a 3 Way call between these two entities in order to get my $650 back. It's been two weeks. No reply, No Response, No Communication. I'm still waiting. read more

Be very clear what your pain threshold is and communicate as staff do not want you to suffer

Dr Regan did a complicated root canal that had many roots branching off. I had absolutely no pain through out the procedure. Very gentle, caring with some humor (!) along the way to make me feel comfortable. I went there 2 years ago w/minor pain in the area; we decided to wait on that tooth until if /when it became a bigger issue. After initial fee, no additional charges for my multiple visits on that tooth! This time there was no question that the tooth needed a root canal. I totally believe that any endodontist lacking Dr Regan's probably 35+ years of experience and skill, would have totally failed. Additionally, the root canal was through an existing crown that was totally preserved!! Staff was very knowledgeable, sweet and attentive to anything i needed. I consider North Texas Endodontic practice to be a jewel in Plano! I trust them completely and I absolutely benefited from the deep experience/skill/demeanor that Dr Regan has! Dr. Small was very nice and took great care of me. I had to come here for an unexpected procedure :(. This office is really huge and I loved the western decor. Dr. Small and his assistant were very nice. They made sure I was comfortable and even offered me a blanket if I was cold. They made sure my procedure was smooth and I was numbed up enough. I was referred to NT Endo by my Dentist. I had a root canal performed. It was painless and Dr Regan, was efficient and confident in performing his service. Juanita did a fantastic job of assisting Dr. Regan. Even though root canals aren't exactly fun, NT Endo is the place to go for painless and attentive dental care. I was referred by my dentist to get root canal there, I had Dr. Tam, she hurt me so badly that a simple root canal became a nightmare. I then went back to Dr. Beto, he prescribed me two pain relieve medicine which are stronger. I was not told to have steroids medicine too till I reached pharmacy. And pharmacist instructed me I didn't need to take the steroids. And 4 days after the root canal, I was still in pain even with pain killer, I went to another dentist to get opinion, then I called back to North Texas Endodontic Associates, Christine answered the phone, after listening to my complaints and the other dentist told me, she asked me if I took the "small" pills, I was confused first, then realized she was talking about steroids. I said NO, but I double antibiotics taken. After 5pm the same day, my dentist who referred me to them called, telling me to give them a chance, besides, I didn't follow their instructions to take medicine, my dentist didn't know they didn't even told me they prescribed the steroids at the second time I went back for great pain after the first operation, besides, I was not told to take it. The office lied to my doctor and tried to off the responsibility of Dr. Tam's bad operation on me. And the office also cancelled my appointment with my dentist to put crown without my consent. I am so angry, I will demand for clarification, why they didn't tell truths? Saying I didn't follow instructions for taking medicine and cancel my crown appointment. I am so angry and I have to ask them based upon what they can do this? Besides, my dentist and the second opinion dentist both looked at X-ray before Dr. Tam's operation on me, they both think my case is a easy one. Shouldn't have any complication, should not be missed. I have been in pain and inflammation for 4+ days and so much pain killers and antibiotics upset my stomach badly, I lost 5 pounds in 4 days. My dentist told me Dr. Tam called, saying I didn't take the medicine, she didn't prescribed steroids, I went back to the office after 3 days great pain from top of my head to cheek, ear, neck and shoulder, Dr. Beto prescribed steroids without me knowing it till I picked up the medicines at the pharmacy. When I was in the office, I was told 2 pain killer medicines, and I had the the nurse write the instructions for me but only with pain killers she wrote. By the way, the simple root canal charge on me is $2050 And in the picture shows the purple note if the instructions of taking pain killers, no steroids at all. Christine tried to press me with not following instructions of taking medicine as the excuse for the bad operation. I need to add more happenings here. Dr. Tam wrote a letter to the dentist I switched to, saying I over reacted. But what really happened was I walked into the new dentist office with toothache after 3 weeks of Dr.Tam's root canal operation on me, the new dentist took out more nerve from the canal, after the clean up, no more pain, no pain killer medicine taken at all, till 4 works later, I went back for crown, no pain at all after the doctor cleaned up the remaining nerve. He also told me that he replied to Dr. Tam, I was not over reacting, because he can also saw I had implants, bridge down before, I was not like knowing nothing or experiencing nothing like this before. Also, my insurance told me they mail the payment to the clinic in April 30, but when I called the clinic, Christine said they did not receive the check, that was almost 4 weeks after insurance mailed the payment, the clinic just wanted to give me hard time and hold onto my benefit claim. My dentist recommended Dr. Joel Small when I felt discomfort when chewing on one side. Root Canal? Yikes!! However, it is really no big deal. Dr. Small is so calm, professional and kind. I made sure I was "numbed up" enough and he patiently complied with 2 or 3 extra injections of numbing meds. It didn't hurt during or after the procedure, and the best part is that by the next day, I could chew with absolutely no pain. Fixed! The office folks are nice too. Only complaint is that their office is hard to find- they need to mark their outside door better. I drove around that parking lot several times and had to call them but finally ended up just guessing where to walk in... read more

I had a root canal done on7/22/2019.I was told to pay $210.00.up front.I did .I was told to pay $80.00 f over.Four months later she said I owed 220.00.At first she didnt give me credit for $100.00.I had to paid $210.00.someway she went back and plugged it in somewhere to fit the bill. She wasnt going to give me credit.Four months later she said I owed 220.00.How am I going from $80.00 to 220.00 .They were scamming me and place money for the same service over again.I didn't agree but went ahead and paid $140.00 .I paid $70.00 on 2 separate occasions.1 on 3-11 for $70.00 and 2 one 3-30 for 70.00.They only gave me credit as usual for $70 00 just like they did for the 110.00 I paid at first.They are scammers and have you paying for the same service over and over again. I CANNOT say enough good about Dr Regan and his staff. They did a root canal retreat for me that my dentist missed a canal on. I will never have another root canal done elsewhere. Their staff is insanely caring. I have continued to have trouble with a tooth bc another dentist made a mistake. Dr Regan offered to retreat my root canal for free, and fit me in the very same day. Incredible. They call & check on you. They take their time & are incredibly caring and patient. I can not recommend this group enough. Be careful with their practice, it s nothing but collecting $$. Staff r not up to date with practice, 1st & 2nd appointments they attempted to install bracelet for my 9 yrs old daughter and both appointments r without any success (1st time broke it during install, 2nd they had to send to lab for measuring) so we elected to not continue with their office. Dr Chacter billing team were quickly to collect $1000 from my insurance and then his billing team r not available to answer the phone to discuss the matter. Finally I have to file a dispute with my cc company. Also called my insurance to file a claim to refund the money. They turned my acct to their collection agency for another $1000. What a waste of time and money. Hiring a lawyer to rectify the problem with very phoney office/practice. Stay away from them. read more

Dr. Berto is simply the best. I have been to see him twice for root canals over the last few years (one planned, one emergency after spending a weekend with a VERY painful toothache). They squeezed me in immediately and took great care of me. I left feeling better immediately. Dr. Berto is very thorough and talks you through everything he's going to do, both beforehand and also as he's going. If you can, get the happy gas! I was referred to NTEA by my dentist. I was advised that they were definitely one of the BEST in Dallas. Unfortunately I did not get to experience their expertise. While speaking with Christine (verified my insurance) there was a problem with communication. She advised me that my portion of the bill would be a certain amount and also advised me that there might be additional charges if needed after the initial consultation. All of this was fine. She was very pleasant until I began asking about the charges. I asked about the amount of the bill and she explained private pay versus insurance payments. Then I questioned the amount as it was much more than my 20% portion with insurance. She then advised me that her office collects 50% up front and then if there is a refund due that it will be issued after the claim is paid (within 30 days). I was quite surprised and confused, not because of the policy, but how it was presented to me. Christine asked me to explain why I was surprised or not pleased with her. I began explaining to her my concern with our conversation. I was unable to complete a sentence as she began talking over me and would not allow a word from me. I attempted 6 times to stop her so that I could explain, however she refused and escalated the situation. When she finished I advised her how unhappy I was with HER and her asking me a question and then refusing to allow me to answer. I advised her that I did NOT have a problem with the 50% payment up front. My concern is that she presented that amount to me as if it were my 20% co-pay. I was wondering why my insurance was only paying a small amount. I stated that she should be upfront with the policy as it is completely reasonable. I completely understand the difficulties in working with insurance companies and not always being paid correctly or in a timely fashion. The doctors provide a much needed service and deserve to be paid accordingly. I shared this with her. I was in need of a root canal immediately, so I would have paid completely out of pocket if necessary. Christine was quite good at her form of disrespect as she NEVER raised her voice, so that others in the office believed that she was simply explaining the policy to me. This was so far from the truth. They could not hear that she cut me off, talked over me and ignored my request to explain. I was NOT angry until this point. I asked to speak with the office manager, Debbie. When I spoke with her she advised me that Christine was awesome and that she was sorry that I had the problem. She continued to defend Christine's behavior and to apologize without apologizing in a condescending manner. It was very clear that Debbie did NOT believe me. Debbie's non-apology further fueled my decision NOT to do business with this office. It was very clear that Debbie did NOT believe me. I can appreciate a manager defending her employees, because the customer is NOT ALWAYS right, but as the potential customer, I also don't expect to be spoken down to instead of being heard. I believe the policy is very REASONABLE and unfortunately many doctor's have to do this or simply not accept insurance. What is NOT reasonable is to misrepresent/manipulate the financials. I am sad that I did not get to experience Dr. Berto's services as I have heard the entire line of doctors are FABULOUS. However, I do believe that your front office staff represents your entire office and they can make or break your business. read more

Dr. Regan is the absolute best! He has on numerous occasions rescued me from dental agony. Unfortunately I have had too many root canals so I would say I am an expert root canal patient. When Dr. Regan performed my root canals it was pain free, quick and completed without any issues. Dr. John Regan has done two root canals in the past five years and I can say that routine cleaning is more of an issue than a root canal by Dr. Regan. He uses state-of-the-art tools and his knowledge of how to remove your sensation of pain is remarkable. You don't ever decide to have a root canal; an infection or abscess usually brings you here is some pain. Dr. Regan was able to work me into his schedule in less than 24 hours and he took care of it right away. If you have need of a root canal, this is the place to go. read more

Sadly, I never had the opportunity to see the team there. I tried to call in to set up an appointment twice and both times the phone was rudely answered by who I would assume is the receptionist. The first time I tried to schedule an appointment, I had a question about an X-Ray and the receptionist never called me back when she was supposed to(but went ahead and scheduled my appointment anyway.) I hadn't received a call back so I was surprised when I received my reminder call about an appointment I had scheduled. I let another lady I spoke to (a different receptionist) know that I hadn't planned to attend any appointment because I had never received a call back. That lady was super friendly and was able to answer all of the questions I had and told her I would be scheduling an appointment probably in the next week or so. Then a week later, I called to schedule another appointment and the lady I initially spoke with the week before answered. I told her I was a referral and gave her my name. Instead of looking up my name, she snapped back " who is your dentist?" I told her where I was referred from but that I did not know my dentist's actual name. She said that was not helpful to her and that I would need her name so she could look her up in the system. I told her that I did not know it, I had only been there twice. I could tell I annoyed the lady and she finally said what is your name? I told her my name and then after repeating it twice, she said rudely again," I need you to speak up, I can't hear you at all." At that point, I hung up the phone. I had received great reviews and a reference from this company so I am very disappointed that things transpired in this manner. I have inquired from my dentist of another company and will be using them. read more
