I visited Dr. Maheeb Jaouni's office last week because of a "deep" infection in the gum area around a molar (Tooth no. 18) that previously had a root canal and crown placement. From start to finish, the visit went very well. Scheduling was easy, filling out the new patient "paperwork" was online and easy, and once I arrived for my appointment, everything else went smoothly! I believe Dr. Jaouni provided a conservative treatment plan recommendation, which I very much appreciated. I mean, after all, who wants to have a tooth pulled, unless absolutely necessary?! My wife has been treated by Dr. Jaouni on a couple of occasions. She was pleased with the result and approved of my seeing him for my "emergency" issue. After being seen by Dr. Jaouni, I too recommend this endodontist. I hope you don't need to visit the Endodontist, but if you do and you decide to give this practice/Dr. Jaouni an opportunity to treat you, I hope you have a likewise very positive experience! Fantastic group. Located at the 5925 Forest Ln Dallas Tx 75230 suite 314 I bit a carrot and sheared off my back molar and exposed the nerve! I immediately called my dentist, Dentistry By Brand and they referred me to this Endodontic practice. They made an opening for me and was in the chair within the hour. The Dr and his assistant were amazing. No pain procedure because of the skill of Dr Ahmad Kassabji. His practice is all geared for your comfort and care. Root canals require know how and precision. Patil made me feel seen and listened to, gave me exact reasons for why they were recommending what they were, offered to go get the person waiting in the waiting room for me to be able to have someone sit with me in the back. Went over the results of the exam with me. Beyond grateful that this is where I was referred to for an opinion. The place looked nice inside and out (even the ladies room), it was big and a little daunting, but the staff were so friendly, listened, and took my concerns seriously! I can't recommend this place enough, specifically Dr. Patil as that was who I saw but also: She was so gracious, a kind soul can make even the hardest days better, and I appreciated her so much that I can't say how much. I went in for a consultation about the need for a root canal. My goal was to be able to save a tooth but unfortunately that won't be the case. I'm thankful that the doctor was upfront and honest. Great place to give you a pleasant experience on an unpleasant such as a root canal. I was told I had to see a specialist because my dental office couldn't do it. That we're going to refer me somewhere else in Frisco but I asked them to refer me to this office because I've had a prior procedure with them and knew that I would be in good hands. I ad a tooth that needed a root canal. From check in till walking back to my car it went flawless. Everyone was great, professional, and attentive. The doctor explained process and what to expect. Numming needles did not even hurt. Root canal process went smoothly with no issues - about 30 minutes. It is 14 hours since procedure and have no issues - no pain. spent $1900 on a root canal and all I have to show for it is a disintegrating tooth and a mouth full of pain. The dentist there refuses to prescribe any pain medicine to alleviate pain. I have three broken teeth and cannot chew my food and they thought it was hilarious and were laughing at me. They said I should come back in and have them drill on me more. They think it's a joke. I can't believe I paid $1900 and all I have to show for it is broken teeth and massive amounts of pain. I would like a refund with this kind of treatment. read more

t was way over priced I paid almost $2000 for a simple root canal That the average around DFW right now is $600 - $800 I went here because I thought I needed a root canal re done through a crown, I was told this was going to cost $1800 When I got there, after the exam, learned it was the tooth next to the one that had a crown. I asked the dentist preforming the root canal, so this is just a regular one, nothing special, and won't cost as much. She said yes, asked if I wanted a break down on the pricing, I said no. I was already in the chair, she said it wouldn't be as much. I said to proceed. I took my wife to Dr. Jaouni as a referral, and as soon as we checked in his staff and submitted our insurance paperwork/forms and signed in I felt uncomfortable immediate because they informed us they "may possibly" want a $125 3D X-Ray. Had I had the method to do so, I would've bet every last red cent I have that they would want us to do it. Spoilers : Guess what? They did! Without even looking at her, the dental assistant asked us to consent to the 3D X-ray when we go to the back because Dr. Jaouni "likes it." I was hesitant because because first off he hadn't even looked at her yet, and just because he prefers it (which I'm absolutely sure he does causes it's an easy extra $265 for him with my dental insurance) what's to say he couldn't ascertain what was wrong without it? So he comes in at that point and starts working on her, saying he can't figure it out and NEEDS the 3D X-ray. I relented saying fine, if there's absolutely no other way then do it cause I don't want my wife to continue to suffer from whatever is going on. So they take it, and I'm not happy as you can tell from reading this because they pressured us into this. He looks around and says it's possible she may need to have a root canal redone from the X-ray that our regular dentist sent (which didn't cost $125 out of pocket by the way) which we already knew about because she told us prior to his referral and wanna know what the kicker is? HE CAN'T TELL WHAT WAS GOING ON EVEN AFTER LOOKING AT THE 3D X-RAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!?!?!?! You pressure us into getting this stupid X-ray we didn't want, and then you can't figure out what's wrong and you still made me pay for it? I'm never coming back to him again, this was without a shadow of a doubt the worst dental experience I've ever had in the 20+ years I've been going to the dentist. read more

Dr. Jaouni is fantastic!!! I found out I needed a root canal at Hebron Smiles, and Dr. Jaouni was able to fit me in as an emergency that day. The check in process was smooth, and from the moment I walked through the door, everyone was friendly and helpful. Once I was in the chair, I was very anxious, but they gave me noise cancelling headphones and some sunglasses and I was good to go. Dr. Jaouni and the hygienist knew that I was very uncomfortable when I came in so he would periodically pause to make sure that I was doing ok. I had a root canal done by Dr. M. Jaouni, Endodontist, on Jan. 22, 2019. Dr. Jaouni was very good & explained everything, in detail, before the procedure was started. His assistant, Amalia, was really nice and always accommodating & concerned that I was alright - when taking ex-rays, etc. The procedure took about 1 1/2 hours. The only problem I had was when Amalia placed the tent-like frame across my opened mouth & the block between my teeth to keep my mouth from closing, while the procedure was being done. (I have always had a fear of suffocation, so I became very nervous, shaking; the doctor talked to me to help calm me down & showed me that I had nothing to fear.) Thanks, Dr. Jaouni! All the girls at the front desk (Jamie & Jerica) was very nice and friendly. I have not had any problems since my root canal was done. read more

The doctor did not wear a mask when he was speaking to me. The technician wore his mask below his nose even when working on my root canal, despite me asking him to pull it up. Even per-pandemic, that is poor hygiene. My husband & I take care of my parents. My dad has cancer, stage IV chronic kidney disease, congestive heart failure & a couple of other health issues. I have no idea if the dentist & staff are vaccinated & I have to be careful because of my parents. If I was not in pain & it was at the end of the day on Friday, I would have walked out. read more

I had a root canal done by Dr. Thompson last Friday. It could not of gone more smoothly. It only took about an hour. Dr, Thompson and staff did a great job keeping me informed of the procedure and its outcome. I had no pain during and after the procedure or the next day. I originally came to Dr. Thompson for a second opinion on the need for the root canal. He was such a straight shooter in his opinion of what I need to have done that I decided I trusted him more than the dentist I was going to go to have the procedure done. I wish I hadn't gone to The Endodontic Specialists for several reasons. First, they charge me almost $200 over the estimate and they said that sometimes that happens when a root canal has problems. The dentist also told me that there was at best a 70% chance of success because the root was a little curved and he might not be able to get deep enough. I said go ahead, and a month later my tooth hurts much worse then before I had the procedure. I had a week of very strong antibiotics so I can't keep doing this (besides its extremely expense) and he can't give any type of guarantee. Next time I will go elsewhere where they don't seem so eager to take my money, and they have more confidence in their own ability. read more

***LONG REVIEW. I do not ever write reviews or complain much. I am a laid back person and try to see the best in people and try to give them the benefit of the doubt*** Dr. Jaouni is nothing short of AMAZING. He is extremely knowledgable, very gentle, and explains everything thoroughly to you. The problem I had was with a training dental assistant (Clarissa) who made my 2nd experience at Firewheel Center for Dental Specialities just HORRIBLE- unlike the first one, which went great. This new assistant was a 'trainee' which is hard to believe as she did not even know how to rinse/suction properly! From beginning to end, she made one mistake after another. First off, she started with rinsing my mouth which I ended swallowing all the water as she rinsed to the back of my throat and did not know how to suction. Secondly, she was preparing me for the completion of my root canal. She literally had no idea what she was doing. She dropped multiple tools on the floor and had to go get new ones. While preparing the site, she had to try at least 3 or times before she got it right. Following the procedure, she was told to get an x-ray. She tried for 4 times and, what it seemed like to me, she kept getting an image of my tongue. I guess she did not know how to place the probe between my teeth properly. She would instruct me to lift my chin multiple times (never ever had to do this before) and would ask me to open my mouth wide( which i could not even open my mouth any wider as I had the stopper in between my teeth ) I motioned her to take it off and I finally said "I cant open my mouth wider with that thing in between my teeth!!! Finally, she somehow got a decent image. I was thinking to myself, "I cant wait for this to be over." But it was not over yet. At the very end of the procedure, she began to rinse and suction again. She rinsed to the back of my throat again I was almost choking on the water and I kept motioning her to stop and she said "Gargle the water like mouth wash" (Are u kidding me????) I again motioned her and tried with the best of my ability to say STOP!! And THATS ENOUGH!! She said " Well I'm trying to suction you to help!" I said STOP IT THATS ENOUGH!!! She finally stopped and I could not believe that this was a licensed dental assistant working at this prestige office! Finally the procedure was over and she gave me post op instructions. Come to find out she gave me improper instructions because I confirmed with Dr. Jaouni whome I also confronted about the poor work of his dental assistant. I was extremely disappointed!!! I hope to never ever have an experience like that ever again. I also hope the office addresses this issue and no other patient has to go through an experience like mine!! read more
