The staff was incredibly nice to me & my dog. The veterinarian did a thorough checkup as my dog was new to the clinic. My dog needed about 4 vaccines, a blood test, and a couple other screens. I also bought a year's supply of heart guard at market price so it was a bit more expensive of a visit. Overall very satisfied with the care & attention given to my dog. read more

Very friendly. I just wish they were a little more reasonable. But then I haven't found a good one that is reasonable.

We had to bring our dog in after he suddenly became lethargic and unfocused. He couldn't stand and he stopped eating and drinking. The doctor saw us two hours after we called, and his treatment unfolded over the next 45 minutes. That seems pretty good to us, especially when pet owners now have to remain in their cars while assistants bring the pets in for treatment. It's inconvenient at the least, but it's what we ha ve to do during this pandemic. The dog's treatment appears to have worked, 5 days later, and we're happy. Prices? not cheap, but we think were fair considering everything. Most importantly, our dog was properly cared for and quickly. For that we're grateful and would recommend NTV to others. read more

I switched over to North Torrington and found them to be excellent in the care of our kitty, Billie Jean. The price and quality of care that Billie Jean received was excellent, the suggestion on what to feed her and the information on flea and tick care excellent. Staff is caring. I switched to North Torrington Vet to hopefully save some money since I was told they were a cheaper option than my previous vet. This is not true as they are the same price, if not more expensive. They are also extremely disorganized. I brought my puppy for his shots and the next visit they started asking ME what shots he had. Aren't they suppose to know that better than me from their records? Also, I only saw the actual vet one time. My other visits with my puppy we were taken care of by vet techs who were not very friendly or knowledgeable. Never even saw the actual Doctor or was asked if I wanted to see him. The waiting room was always crowded and I always had to wait 30 minutes plus before I saw anyone. After 3 visits I decided to go back to my original vet in Litchfield. Overall I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are much better options in the area to chose from! read more

I will give credit where credit is due here. They did fit us in on short notice for a somewhat emergency visit. Our dog had a pretty good gash on her foot that required stitches, and they were the only place that could get her in that day. For that, we are very appreciative. I will also say that as far as we can tell so far, they did a great job with her wound. All the staff were generally kind, competent, and respectful. Our biggest issue is that we feel they have extremely unfair pricing, and took advantage of an emergency situation, since they knew we did not really have much other choice. The initial estimate for the stitches was over $500. I felt like this was totally absurd. After changing a few things they were able to get the estimate down to around $400. This was obviously better than $550, but I felt it was still really high. I respectfully expressed to them my concern about getting taken advantage of because we were in a pinch. They assured me that their pricing was very fair. They offered to let us return the cone if it was in reusable condition. They of course did not offer us a discount for buying someone else's used cone... They also offered us financing, which they said was an option they provide for the customers convenience. To me it seemed more like a way for them to charge really high prices and make sure they still get paid. Upon looking over the invoice and comparing with other vets, most of the charges were on the high end, but not totally unreasonable. The one that I did find totally ridiculous was $42 for a bandage. Any other vet in the area found this laughable. We did have an issue with the dog getting at the bandage because the cone they gave us was too small. The dogs head was pretty much totally sticking out of the cone and so it did not serve its purpose at all. When we called north torrington to ask about this, not only did they say it would be another $42 to reapply a new bandage, but it would be another $61 for the office visit "evaluation", even though we were there the day before, totaling $100 to replace a bandage that was only damaged because they issues the wrong cone. To resolve this issue, we ended up going to our regular vet, whose evaluation fee and bandage application total, were less than north torrington's charge for the bandage alone. UPDATE: our regular vet included a new, very similar bandage in the cost of our quick visit to evaluate how the stitches were healing. Total - $25. Almost half what north torrington charges for the bandage alone...not including office visit. Overall I don't think they are a bad vet by any means, but I do feel like the pricing is very unfair, and would not suggest going to them unless it is an emergency and you have no other option. read more

I was over charged and taken advantage of when putting my dog to sleep...I called to make an appointment to put my sweet dog down and when I got there they acted like they didn't know why I was there. They asked me the same questions as on the phone and tried to add an exam on to the price/visit. I miss Dr O'Grady who would have never done this ! read more

Several time we have called with a sick animal only to be told someone would call us back. They did not call us back and seemed annoyed when we followed up. Care seemed hurried and cursory. The level of care from this office has gone downhill. read more

Worst experience at this facility since transition. Have been with them for 18 years. Today was the last straw. Vet techs are unprofessional and if you make an appointment with your pet's vet, it shouldn't be a random relief vet assigned. Wasted an hour there this morning and ended up having to refuse treatment and NEVER even met the "vet" assigned to my dog. I miss the O'Gradys. They knew how to treat patients, the human and animal. read more

Simply irresistible. The vets Dick and Kathy are so friendly, caring, and helpful it is hard to compare them to any others.

Such a wonderful clinic and the staff is beyond helpful and personable! The Dr. is very kind and laid back and knows what he's talking about. I brought my two new kittens here for a check-up. Not only did I get an appointment the same day I was also treated so wonderfully! I will be transferring all my pets to this clinic ASAP. read more

This establishment is under new ownership but I was here when it's founder was here the only thing I've noticed is minor as it is consistent in services. Prices are average and they really don't pressure you with line items you don't (( need))..! We like the staff they are all very professional and genuine not car salesmen pushing a product. WILL NEVER REFER THEM TO ANYONE. Our dog who was 14 had been going to this vet all his life. When O Grady left WE SHOULD HAVE LEFT TO!! Last week I received a call from my 16 year old crying saying something wasn't right with our dog. Her father came home while on the phone with her and agreed he wasn't himself so I told them to call the vet right away. My daughter called the Vet crying and asking if they could see him right away. The reply was we can see him tomorrow at what ever time they said. My daughter still crying said no he needs to see someone today. (he was suffering) The woman on the phone was not very compassionate AT ALL with my crying 16 year old and told her I don't know what else to tell you we cant take him today but we can tomorrow. We thought it would be best for our dog to go to where he was used to going to but evidently THEY DID US A FAVOR by pushing us a way. My husband called another vet in Litchfield that we had never gone to or talked to and they were more compassionate and caring on the phone then our own Vet Hospital. They advised my husband to maybe take him to the Emergency Vet care in Canton. so he rushed him down there and I AM SO THANKFUL we went to them. I can not say enough GOOD THINGS ABOUT the Emergency Vet Care in Canton. They were so good to our beautiful dog! They were so loving and caring and comforting to all of us. Unfortunately we had to put him to sleep and I am so glad we did not go to North Torrington Vet. We got treated so much better at a new place then a place we had gone to for 14 years. I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK TO NORTHWEST TORRINGTON VET OR REFER THEM TO ANY ONE!!! and yes prices more then doubles also since O Grady left. read more

We had our rescue dog for a year and a half and always had good experiences when bringing him to Dr. O'Grady. Our dog became sick and unfortunately we had to make the hard decision to put him to sleep. We had an appointment for 5:15pm one evening, after hours to have this done. When we walked in carrying our labrador there were still many people in the waiting room. I understand things happen and the office was backed up but I feel the receptionist was very inappropriate and inconsiderate in this situation. She asked us to choose the urn in the middle of the waiting room and when we asked if that could wait she told us we could have a seat in the crowded waiting room with our sick dog and myself sobbing. We just said we would wait outside instead. One hour later we were brought in to have our dog put down. I feel the situation could have been handled differently and the staff could have been more understanding. We could have been brought into a private exam room to wait or a phone call saying to bring our dog a little later when the office had quieted down would have been appreciated. Needless to say, I was very disappointed in the way we were treated in such a hard time and will not be bringing our next pet to North Torrington Veterinary. read more

I'm very happy with Dr. Suppo & his staff. They've been good to my 2 dogs & 2 cats. I highly recommend them!
