If you do take this class / job training, have a lawyer on retainer, or at the very least document everything so you can complain to Americas job center / B.A.S. Some things you may experience provided things haven't changed : Nasty OSHA violations like walking on glass shards without proper PPE, or using forklifts to lift things beyond their wight limit. Being bullied and harassed at every turn only to be told you are the problem. ( Threats from other students of physical violence, and actual physical violence at times) . Being told you can't talk politics and then having a teachers talk to you about politics all the time. The teachers give you a class on harassment, only to harass you and encourage other students to do so. This might all might be sufferable considering how short this program is, however the job placement is terrible, and poorly thought out. A lot of things are promised upon graduation of the program, and very little of that promised support happens. If this program in question doesn't go well for you, complain about it to Americas Job Center or B.A.S. as soon as possible. If enough people complain something will change. This program is advertised as a way to change lives. For some people in very desperate situations that may be the case, but for most the solution is to just seek out an actual education or career. Most of the certificates in this program you can get for free at a college, without having to do something like this. The certificates that cost money don't cost very much. The pay for the work you do in this program is meager at best, and is paid out on a prepaid debit card.

I signed up for a…read moreclass on "working on charging stations for electric vehicles" and the instructors even claimed that I would be ready to begin a job in this industry soon after completing the class. Lies. What ended up happening was that all we got was a slideshow about electric vehicles the first day of class (to technically count as an electric vehicle class, it's just a front), the rest of the class had nothing to do with what had been advertised to us. The reason for this class to exist is so that the college can keep getting grant money, the more falsely advertised "classes" they have, the more grant money they get. They have many other classes that have similar titles or promises, like hydrogen vehicle class and other examples. Don't sign up for them, you'll just end up with what I got, a waste of time. The class was just a construction safety class and IBEW orientation course (which isn't necessarily bad, but I could've easily gotten this much quicker and easier on my own, instead of wasting a whole month of life going to these classes after getting lured by false advertising). Specifically, don't sign up for any class taught by Steve Manson, this guy lied to our faces so that he could swindle the state out of that sweet sweet grant money so that he can buy his pretentious designer suits and his precious little menthol cigarettes.
