The pros-…read more Conveniently located in a nice office downtown. Clean and private rooms for therapy. The cons- office staff lacks basic communication, scheduling is all over the place and not a regular time/day weekly. This clinic really should do better. Very frustrating six+ month experience. Got on their wait list- in October, filled out all paperwork and was told I would be informed of copays/deductibles prior to starting services. I called every 2-3 weeks checking my child's place on the wait list and checking on our insurance- each time I was told everything was in there was nothing more for me to do. After the new year mid Jan a spot opened for my teen- great! Unfortunately the " spot" wasn't a spot the sessions were all over the place!!!! One week it would be a Monday 9am apt the next week it would be Friday at 4p- I wish prior to waiting several months we would have been told there is no consistency with the scheduling and you get what ever time they have. In the 20 years of myself, my partner and our kiddos having therapy we have never experienced such an erratic schedule. But at this point we had waited several months so we went with it. Our main issue is lack of communication with the office staff and billing department. after starting appointments we were told they do not accept our insurance! Even though prior we were told they did! The office tried to tell me we were out of network- not true the issue is they only accept ONE insurance as "in network" ONE! It would have been very easy for them to let me know this up front or even one of the numerous I called/came into their office. They really should have told me they don't accept either of our insurances as we are double covered and never would have continued with their practice had this been told to us. We simply cannot afford it especially when we already pay for two insurances! Very frustrating that we waited so long then started our child and due to the 450$ per appointment we had to change and go to a completely different practice. We never would have started services at this place had we known. We never would have put our child through a wait list and starting with a new counselor had we known we would have to switch a few months in. The counselor herself was fine- not the best not the worst. We only had services for 3 months weekly so it's hard to say but I can't tell you those appointments are costly- something that could have easily been avoided had the office staff been upfront and let me know they only accept ONE insurance which was neither of the ones we have.

Still have NOT received an update on my file- or promised exit letter. Or any update other than an…read moreemail stating they charged my card 3 months after being let go from the program. Due to a lack of proper notation in my file ... I was billed in November 2024 for a "therapy session" on Aug 20th 2024. This was the day I was released from the program due to being understaffed and no longer a priority.. I didn't attend but 10-15 mins of that group before i was disconnected from the zoom call. Their third-party billing, out of Anchorage is not able to see anything other than what Lisa hay relays to her via her notes/ledger... due to a lack of proper chart notations/keeping up with my client file "candy" her third-party billing associate had notes that I attended that therapy session and was told to charge the card on file without giving any outstanding balance notices via mail/email or prior phone call. Due to me being a cash paying, I had written on my intake forms, as well as advised her third-party billing, candy, that I would need a phone call prior to running my card. This was agreed-upon and worked out very well all the way up until Aug 2024.. and now Nov 2024.... This was a fraudulent charge. I reported it to her 3rd party billing Candy, who was unaware and had to review her own notes. She tried to refund me however due to Lisa Hay business practices and ethics I immediately reported the charges as fraud and made a police report with AK troopers. My bank was able to correct Lisa's error. See pictures below added!! After calling Lisa Hay herself (3 times) to inform her of 1-my concerns about the billing and how we were going to fix it. 2- that I still needed copies of my medical/therapy records from her (it's been 3 months). And 3-that I had already reported the charges as fraudulent and my bank took care of it. She then proceeded to email me, threatening me, stating the fact I called her to inform her of the issue that I was harassing her and her 3rd party billing by calling and questioning the charges. She then proceeded to state my actions/responses to this entire ordeal is why I needed her program in the first place...... THEN LIED stating I was "sent to her and her program." I actually self enrolled and inquired about the program myself.. ie- self pay, not court ordered and why she let me go due to understaffed and had other clients that were* court ordered which were higher priority. Needless to say, she is not utilizing her wizard brain and reacting with her lizard brain.. if you know you know--These are her "teachings" RIGHT?! Please please please seek help elsewhere or keep detailed notes on EVERYTHING if you're unlucky enough to have to endure her and the therapy she's providing. Just my opinion and my personal experience. She's threatened me with slander charges if I kept updating my review here. She's threatening harassment charges if I continue to ask for my medical records. I spoke to the same trooper after reviewing her email , he stated this is not classified as harassment and that I have a legal right to my medical records as well as a copy of any billing information exchanged. Especially if there are discrepancies and it's been several months since initially asking documentation in writing to be provided. I hope this paints a pretty BIG picture for those wondering about LEAP, or are court ordered to complete Hay's "program."

LEAP is a program that works with violent offenders. Particularly domestic and child abuse. Some…read more of this population wants to change and become non-violent. Change can be difficult but it's worth it. This staff works hard with clients and is supportive but not enabling. Some clients work hard as well and take responsibility for their behaviors, thoughts and actions and change their lives for the better. Some do not. This population can be difficult. Many are manipulative with their victims and the courts and threatening towards staff when they do not want to look at themselves and take responsibility. Going non compliance with court ordered program is common. Minimization, denial and blame of the damage many of them cause is also common when one one does not want to admit that their violence and abuse against others is wrong and has to stop. The people who work here are not in it for the money. They could work elsewhere and have a less stressful job with more income. These people clearly care about the work they do. The comment about being money hungry is unfounded. The attacks on Ms. Hay are also not reflective of her or her work with clients. One reviewer has not even met her but feels compelled to attack her. Who does that kind of thing? People who are not dealing with their own stuff or maybe people with personality disorders- seem a little borderline to me. These negative reviews say more about the reviewer than they do about Ms. Hay or LEAP. It's a shame they can't respond to these posts.

Checking in…read moreand out is efficient, the wait to be seen is never too long, and the instructions/notes from the visit are available online anytime. They accept insurance, Medicaid, and have a sliding fee scale to try and accommodate everyone. They provide medical care, mental health care, and dental care; though I'm not sure the full extent of their services. This place is an asset for Fairbanks. I noticed the Yelp reviews were mostly older, like from 6 years ago, so I wanted to give an accurate picture of what you can expect in 2026. I have had zero issues with them and am glad to have found providers who care and listen.

I will say, from a 'mother's' perspective it was very well ran and administered, by each staff member we encountered. The information that was given and options and resources available to a patient was very well laid out and dispensed. Each staff member executed their roles very professionally and concise. CHECK-IN: Receptionist/Cashier/Appointment Clerk was very knowledgeable, even though she indicated that she was new and still learning. She was friendly and effective in helping direct and fill out all the forms needed (proof of income, understanding the income/payment scale, what to expect for the next step in our visit at the clinic) VITALS/CHECK-IN CARE: Staff member was very friendly and asked a lot of questions, for information relating to health/visit to the clinic that day. She did not push/pressure for information, but did want to collect as many details needed to best serve the patient. She was very knowledgeable about resources and options and making sure the patient didn't miss every opportunity available to them, both for today's visit and future visits. PHYSICIANS ASSISTANT: Very concise, again. Asking the patient for detailed information, and stayed on task to the actual visit needs, while inviting the patient with the options for future visits. She displayed a high value of patient privacy and comfort. She explained each step of the exam in detail. She also offered explanations when it was apparent they would be appreciated. She preformed her role very very well. CASE MANAGER: A case manager was made available to offer information on many resources available to patients. She was also extremely friendly and non-invasive, even on such vulnerable and transparent topics. She gave a professional sense of discretion and a genuine care to the needs of the patient. Overall, it was a very positive and informative visit, and I am glad to know how well the clinic serves the community.
