I saw Oscar-nominated Past Lives, which attracted a good size audience. It was part of their art house cafe series. There is plenty of two-hour parking onsite as well as across the street in the garage. I'll definitely go back to see more movies.

They offer so much to the community and 99% of the time it costs us nothing but a little enthusiasm and time. This event had to do with explaining magic through science. My granddaughter throughly enjoyed it and I would dare to say that all the other children did as well. The library puts out a monthly calendar of all the events they are hosting. I've enjoyed several myself. One of my favorite was a gardening class. They offer something for everyone. Great place to spend some quality time with your little ones.

I saw a passport center where you can get your passport done. It was so fresh and so clean and vibrant with colors. There's a maker space you can do an orientation for and learn how to use the cricket or the 3-D art, printer or learn how to use a sewing machine. They also had an ancestry section. I'm looking forward to doing some more research and try to do the ancestry maybe next time I've also booked a passport appointment for next week. I'll update with how it went.

There were pods you could reserve to take calls and fast internet. Lots of comfy seating and what warmed our hearts - signs saying libraries are for everyone! They had lots of cool events planned. Part of me wished I lived nearby! Also they run a used book store down the street which all the profits go towards the library. PSA - Please utilize libraries, they are a huge support to the community. They are one of the places which usually get funding cuts. One of the metrics utilized for finding amounts is how many visitors stop by the library and use services.

It's not until you have that diploma in your hand that you realize what you had for four years: a fantastic, state-of-the-art center for knowledge that has an incredible number of resources all under one roof: historic artifacts, an efficient printmaking service, a kick-ass multimedia center, friendly and knowledgable staff, comfortable places to "read and relax," multiple quiet rooms (and noisy floors), independent study spaces, tons of DVDs, and more. Swem knows what it's doing, ladies and gentlemen, and that's even without funding out the wazoo like your hoity-toity private school down the interstate might enjoy. If you're looking for a place to work, study, or play, Swem is it. It's without a doubt the premier university library I've encountered and one of the most, if not the most, essential buildings on the William & Mary campus. ¡Viva Swem!

On the way to separate Yelp events in the area, I stopped at this library on two occasions…read more Getting some quality time for myself was key after I got off work. Let's see how everything turned out. The library is named after the former Virginia Beach mayor. Inside, it's very spacious where there are two floors. If you want complete privacy, there are private rooms available. And they also have a conference room which is right by the entrance doors. There are booths available where you can do personal reading or assignments if you're a student. Also, they have charging stations for your mobile phone and laptop. And they have a children's section for kids. The library is showing its age, but still appears to be a great place for all ages that walk in. For both visits, very comfortable. This library will be a go-to the next time I'm in the area. Till next time :)

The library is minutes from the mall minutes from a gas station minutes from a gym this is just perfect in my opinion. Very seldom do I use any other services other than the desk area to do independent work. Even though I do have a library membership in case I do decide to check out anything I just love being able to come and work in a neutral environment it's not super quiet in here especially if mothers or Guardians are with children but still it's nothing that's unbearable. The staff is super friendly always helpful. Every time I come in I'm greeted with a smile. The restrooms are always tidy! Upstairs and downstairs areas and handicap accessible. There are Stadium size rooms as well just an efficient building and location that holds a lot of events from graduations to seminars. But if you haven't been here definitely check them out. This past year, I've witnessed some graduates come and take their senior photos and evidently that's something that's allowed I've never seen anyone question them... I Love all the natural light that comes in as well petfect for pictures on a bright day. Have fun and enjoy life :)
