One of the best dog parks in the area!! The dog parks here are very well maintained on both the small dog side and the large dog side. The water fountains are clean and functioning well, the waste bags are thick and high quality and there is a TON of shade and seating which is important for those summer days. The pond for the dogs to swim in great for the summer, though if you have small dogs I recommend giving them life vests to wear as I think the water is deeper than it looks at some parts. Note that the pond is not separated between large dogs and small dogs. There is also a water fountain with a hose attachment that you can use to hose down your dogs after they go swim. read more

There's 3 different parts 1- big dog park (quite a large area 2- park with a pond area and has a space for dogs to jump off into the water 3- little dog park Then there's a trail around the whole area. Aside from being right next to the highway, this is a nice spot. We kind of stumbled upon this dog park after visiting some walking trails nearby. The cool thing is that along with separate fenced areas for big and little dogs, there's a third fenced area in between with a little pond. None of the three fenced areas are particularly large, and I realize it's winter, but most of the area in the larger dog park was basically dirt. They did have poop bag stations and water faucets, which were off on this day. Most people didn't seem to be paying too much attention to their dogs, and there was poop everywhere. I guess if we're in the area and our dog needed to run off some steam, perhaps we'd go in again. However, I wouldn't make the concerted effort to drive down there again. read more

We enjoyed the small dog park with NO dog poop piles all over. I was worried and almost didn't go because of the other reviews. Maybe it's because we went on a 38 degree Saturday at 12:30pm with few people there, but it was super clean. The small dog park is huge with plenty of central seating for dog owners. I love how it is completely separate from the large dog park and has two secure gates to walk through before entering the grass. Speaking of grass, it has plenty. It's obviously not green due to winter, but it is like a big yard versus dirt terrain like some other dog parks. The park had ample trash cans with poop bags available. It also had a couple of water fountains for people and dogs. We went three days after a heavy rain, and there were only a few slightly muddy spots in the back, so it must have great drainage. If you go to the park's website, it gives you a number to call for Dallas dog parks. It will tell you if the park is open in case you are worried after a massive rain or other weather. Otherwise, it's only closed on Tuesdays. Even though this park is 20 minutes away since we live in mid-Dallas, I will definitely visit again. I like the overall grass park better than the White Rock Dog Park, including better parking (its own private lot with 6 good-size rows), and it drains way better (White Rock is closed a long time after heavy rains!). The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I used one of the port-o-potties by the small dog park. It hadn't been cleaned in 8 days (it's usually cleaned weekly based on the schedule on the inside door), and it was quite "full" so I had to hover and tread lightly to avoid any splashing. Eek! This is probably one of the overall nicest dog parks in the city of Dallas. They have something for every dog whether they be small or large or be one of the dogs that prefers swimming. Basically the dog park is divided up into three sections under 30 pounds over 30 pounds and dogs that like to swim. All three of the sections are very large and provide plenty of room even on the most crowded of days. Another thing that sets this dog park apart is plenty of parking. There is also a picnic area for people that want to bring something to eat when they bring their dog to the park. Additionally there is a walking path that went around the dog parks as well, creating a perfext park setting. The park is located at George Bush and Dallas North Tollway, making it convenient for a large number of people and their pups! read more

I recently moved and this is the closest dog park to my house. Let me tell you that it is a long detour during rush hour since it's around tollway. This place is surrounded by older apartment with people walking around hint(selling drugs maybe?). It's the most dirtiest dog park I've been to. I don't understand the good review on here. I'm guessing they haven't been to a nice and new dog park. The grass isn't manicured, dog droppings everywhere, and lots of mosquito!! I couldn't believe how run down this place is. This is hands-down my favorite dog park in North Dallas. It's conveniently located right off Dallas North Tollway just south of George Bush turnpike. It's easy to find and there is ample parking. Once you've arrived, there are three separate areas where you can take your four-legged friends - a small dog park on the right, a large dog park on the left and a lake area in the middle where they can get wet. The dog parks have water stations, trash cans and dog bags. There are several benches to sit on and lots of space for my dog to run around. Another cool thing about this dog park is that it has a strong sense of community. People talk to each other and even hold meet-up events at the park on weekend mornings. If my dog could talk, he'd tell me this is his favorite dog park to go to! I'm so glad a place like this exists so close to home. read more

Don't get me wrong, I love this park but some of the owners are terrible people. I was at the park yesterday (3/23/22) with my 2 dogs, my friend, and her 1 dog. I've been going to this park for almost a year now and constantly run into lazy owners who don't know how to keep an eye on their dog. Yesterday while at the park around 12:30pm my pups were running and playing and not even 10 minutes into being there a black and white pit mix came and attacked my pit mix. The owner was on his phone, and slowly walked over while I was holding my dog as his dog continued to attack. When he finally arrived it had already turned extremely ugly. He got his dog and walked away while is stood there holding my dog as she bled from her face and mouth. The people near me helped me get her water and luckily one man there was a vet. I got her out of the big dog area and into the pond area (where there were no other dogs) when another owner approached me at the fence and said that man's dog does that all the time and he does nothing about it. The owner finally came to me and never asked about my dog or apologized but said "the worst thing to come of this was you got blood on your shirt" then walked away. I have never been so mad and disappointed in another dog owner. I know dogs will be dogs and stuff happens, it's a risk to take your dog to a park, I am very much aware, but this man had many problems already happen with his dog and he still continues to bring him and not pay attention to his dog. I am disgusted by this man..... I didn't give 1 star because the park overall is great, lots of room to run, the pond is a plus. But at the end of the day a lot of the owners don't pay attention to their dogs. I've seen too many fights break out at this park and will no longer be going there. read more

I love this park. I've been coming here since it opened. You can read all about it in the other reviews. I've never had a bad experience, until today. I want this review to read more like a public service announcement, so here goes: My 11 month old dog was attacked at the park today because she picked up a toy that another dog had been playing fetch with. She seemed OK after, but I took the toy to the couple that had been playing with it and asked that they put it away because the dog was protective of it and showing aggression. They said it wasn't the dog's toy, she had just found it and threw it again. I picked it up and threw it away. Then I felt pretty bad because the dog hung around the trash can looking for it. Obviously someone else felt bad and shortly after, the dog had another toy and was playing fetch again. Well, you can guess what happened.. it attacked the next dog who took it's toy. So I asked who the dog belonged to. A different lady spoke up and said it was her dog but that wasn't it's toy. I told her that her dog was clearly showing aggression toward other dogs over toys, and asked why she keeps letting it play with toys at the park. She replied that they always come to this park. I pointed out that her dog had attacked two dogs in ten minutes over toys. So she left. After getting my dog home and spotting blood, I found three deep puncture wounds. She will heal, and I'm just glad she doesn't require a vet visit and stitches at this point. I know these things happen at dog parks sometimes. But, let's be honest.. they usually happen because of irresponsible owners. I can't imagine this is the first time that dog showed aggression. PSA: If your dog has EVER shown any type of aggression, it does not belong in a dog park. You are risking the safety of every other dog because you think your dog's exercise is more important? It's cruel. You should also think about the possibility of your dog meeting it's match someday. It's just not worth the risk. Avoid a bad situation and expensive lawsuit, just take your dog for a walk. read more

There is a constant rotation of people and their puppies coming to the park every day, even some daily regulars. Being an obsessive dog mama, I've been to many of the local dog parks and this one remains one of my favorites. There is plenty of room on both the small and large dog side for your pups to run around and it's also very human-friendly with plenty of benches to sit on and some even in shaded areas. The large dog area has a small swimming lake, the small dog side does not. Plenty of potty stations and functioning water fountains at varying heights to keep those active pups hydrated. Also plenty of available parking within eye-shot of the park so you can keep an eye on your belongings while your dogs play. Pro-tip: Park is closed on Tuesdays Human potty tip: Unless you enjoy porta-johns (ew!), there are no public restrooms here so go potty before you leave home! read more

Love the area, and the option of the pond so my dog can swim, but maintenance leaves a lot to be desired. The latches on the gates to enter the pond area have broken off and swing open in the wind. One of the fence gates used by the grounds crew was not secure and blew open, and a dog escaped while I was there. It was horrible. I will not be back until I know the gates are fixed. Hadn't been here in about a year or so, but decided to come back for some doggy playtime. I have a black lab that loves the water. We started off playing fetch in the pond before moving on to the main big dog area. 1st complaint - there is literally dog poop EVERYWHERE! You literally have to watch where you step. Now on to the biggest complaint. I noticed my dog limping around the house after getting home. I thought maybe she had pulled something while playing fetch - until I looked at the bottoms of her paws. Every single paw was torn up. Most likely from either the rocks around the pond or the rocks around the big dog area. I couldn't believe it! We've ventured out to so many parks and gone on hikes and this has NEVER happened. Needless to say I will not be returning with my dog. This place has gone downhill so much and it's truly a sad thing. read more

This is the best dog park in Dallas. I found it tucked away in a dead end street when I moved to Texas 6 years ago. I live in the area come to the park a few times a week. It has a nice large dog pool and two dog areas one for large and one for small dogs. There is a path that goes around the park for walking, exercise and a couple of portable toilets. The dog park connects to a bike/hiking trails through the woods that comes out to the park on Haverwood Ln. There is also a nice river that runs through the woods also. Me and my furry friend enjoy living in this area and use all the free amenities associated with the parks. The bad thing is a lot of people don't clean up after their pets. Keep an eye out for when walking and hiking in the woods. read more

I really like the place and the setup they have. its always pretty clean facility to take your pet to. With the amount of dogs in there, its amazing that there isn't that much pet waste laying all over the area. It helps also that owners pick up after their pets.. I have a lab and she loves meeting new dogs,,, so this park is just perfect. Love how there is a pre entrance to all three parks before you let your dog in. I love the water park for the dogs to jump in and take a swim... and the fact that I also have a chihuahua allows me to let her in the small dog park so that she doesn't get trampled. This dog park has got to be the BEST one in the Dallas area. I always enjoy taking my dog here in an attempt to get her to socialize with other dogs. Unfortunately, this plan always backfires on me and she always ends up sitting on my lap and running away from other dogs. The dog park is tucked away behind the gramercy apartment complex but there are some signs that will lead you to the actual dog park. There is plenty of parking and I love how its never been an issue. There are two different sections of the dog park which separates the big dogs from the small dogs (Great idea). During my attempt to get my dog to socialize, I always enjoy looking at the other different types of dogs and its so cute how they all somehow run in a synchornized circle. hehe! It makes me laugh just thinking about it. There are also doggy water fountains which helps the dogs stay hydrated. There is another separate section where the dogs are able to jump into this pond for some swimming. I really liked the dog swimmable pond because its something you wont find at any other dog park. Unfortunately, my dog is scared of swimming so theres another strike. lol. Excellent, well-maintained dog park. I bring our two pups here at least once a week. There's a small dog area (under 30lbs), large dog area, and a swimming area with a small lake. Tons of shade, which makes the park excellent for humans even on hot days.The grounds are well-maintained, though I wish they would clean up some of the lawn webbing that's around the park. Best of all, every owner I've ever met here has been attentive and conscientious (picking up poop, breaking up packs, responding to any sign of aggression, etc.). read more

I love this dog park. They have 3 separate areas. One for small dogs, one for larger dogs and one for dogs who love water. The latter containing a man-made pond that puppies can venture near or jump right in depending on their preference. It's very clean and they even have water hoses that you can use to shower mud off your dog when you are ready to go home. My dog had a wonderful time here! There is plenty of room for them to run, jump and swim. After she has exhausted herself by playing she gets a great night's sleep So, I'm always happy when I get to bring her on an excursion to Northbark. read more

I've been to several dog parks in Dallas and this is one of my favorite location. They have gated areas for puppies and bigger dogs. They also have a little pond for them to bathe/swim in. There's an area to rinse off the dirt which is much needed afterwards. This place allows dogs to interact and be active. Will definitely wear them out by the time they get home. Beware of the landmines! People are pretty good at picking up after their mess but as a safety precaution, keep your eyes/nose fully open and alert. read more

Came here with Akira this weekend to let her romp around for a bit. There were quite a few dogs and because it was her first time we were a little nervous since she's so big. Most of the patrons were friendly, but there was one uptight lady that seemed to have a problem when Akira pounced and tried to play with her dog. IT'S A DOG PARK LADY, why are you surprised that dogs want to play? Anyways, Akira made some friends and we will definitely be back! I expected it to be more covered with grass, but it is the fall so there were some thinner areas. This is the premier dog park in Dallas. Wonderful landscaping, plenty of shade from mature trees and stone bench seating, drinking fountains for humans and canines alike, numerous bag dispensers, and 3 separate areas for your dog to run and play in. There's also a covered picnic area and portapotties outside the park entrance if you decide to make an outing of it. A paved walking trail also wraps around the park for on-the-leash romps. For your mud- and water-loving pups, a rinsing station is thankfully located in the pond area, though you'll need to bring a towel or two. The only downside to the pond area is that the banks tend to get muddy and slippery; I can envision the edge getting eroded with time and constant use. Perhaps they will consider adding more gravel around the entire pond and not just one side. Another minor peeve are some of the gates which tend to swing out only one way since part of the fencing is built on a hardscaped slope. They may be built to be sturdy and easy to latch, but constant wear and tear will break them down. There's an abundance of parking here at Northbark, so I don't foresee that capacity will be an issue at this dog park. Two paws up! read more

My wife and I took our dogs Thimba and Laini to this park 3/8/2020. We were excited about the pond area and let the dogs run free there. There was poop everywhere where which didn't deter us as we are used to irresponsible dog owners. What we didn't expect is that both dogs would have excessive diarrhea and vomiting a day later for almost a week after. They are finally doing better after many late nights and early mornings cleaning floors and kennels of vomit and bloody diarrhea and an expensive vet bill. Love this place and so does my husky. There are always tons of other well behaved dogs and the owners are attentive to what's going on. The lake park is my dogs favorite, and the fact that it is completely fenced in gives me peace of mind when she is running around the entire thing. There is also a hose to rinse off all the lake mud when it's time to go. The large dog park is also nice for days it is too cold to swim, it has tons of room for the dogs to run as well as water fountains, potty bags, and trash cans, and there are always tennis balls laying about. There is a small dog park as well but I have not used that as I don't have a small dog, but there are always lots of little dogs there. If you have not taken your dog to experience these awesome parks yet don't delay any longer! They deserve it and will definitely enjoy themselves, and you may even make some new dog owner friends there as well :) read more

We went to this dog park for the first time today and it was pretty great. There's a big dog and little dog side, and seeing as my dog straddles the 30lb line, we had the luxury of trying both sides today. The small side: great size, especially for a "little dog" area. There's plenty of seating for the owners, plenty of poop bins, and a water fountain or 2. One complaint is that owners should call their dogs when people are entering/leaving. My dog's neutral, but gets very timid when greeted by a handful of dogs yapping at a gate. It took us a few minutes just to enter and all people did was stare. Rude. Second complaint, which is paired with the first, the owners on the small dog side seemed a bit posh so if you're there to play fetch with your dog and not socialize, expect stank-face stares. The big side: I didn't realize how large the big dog side was, but not once did we feel like it was crowded--granted, there were only 5 dogs there. Dogs didn't run up to the gate upon entering/leaving--great! People were friendly and everyone seemed to be mindful of their dogs. The thing that cut our visit short was the arrival of 2 children. I'm going to have to side with another reviewer: children shouldn't be in a dog park (especially on the big dog side where they could easily get knocked over or hurt). Both sides: holy crap is there a lot of poop! The other reviews aren't exaggerating when they say it's a literal minefield. Overall, it's a great dog park. I'd definitely come back but only to the big dog side. read more

This is the best dog park hands down. My other favorites are wiggly park in Denton and the Bear Creek Dog Park in Euless. This one is HUGE and very well kept. It has TONS of room to run around and the best part is the pond. They actually have a pond that is meant for your dogs to play in.What a great way to make sure to keep your dog well exercised in the summer time when the weather is 100 degrees and up!! I literally cannot take my dog outside for more than 20 minutes in the summer time for fear of him overheating. Now, I can take him here and he can swim for hours. The pond is a little dirty, but they even have a spray area where you can rinse off your dog afterwards. People even bring soap to give their dogs a bath out here. Great spot with three different fenced areas: small dog, large dog, and water dog. There are trees for shade, open areas and places to sit.
