The restaurant manager came out stuck her finger in the chicken and said it was done. Blood should not run out of the chicken. I asked a few questions of the older women. First she must have been drinking as she smelled of beer and lots of it. She is not a chef as I was told in fact she came from a bar just down the street. She has no health license or any real restaurant training as is really apparent. The state shut them down once and should have never let them open again. The 4 of them came for the all you can eat crab legs and I ordered steak. For one, the buffet had 6 items and an older soup and the price was 35$. It was also cold, very fishy and barely stocked with 3 tables. My steak came back raw twice, the waitress even took the plate back. This is cross contamination! The waitress didn't refill our drinks, didn't clear the table... Even walked past without saying anything. Granted she was newer and younger. We tried saying something to the hostess to get our server or something and she blew us off too. So once my second steak came back raw everyone else was done eating. We asked our waitress for the manager. We informed the manager that we were dissatisfied and she stood there with an attitude and said what would you like me to do? We told her we would like our bill rendered somehow. She argued with us for an hour before taking 20 off for my steak, which still didn't satisfy us. A manager is supposed to be trained on this and you would think an older woman would have common sense? Let alone should not be clocked out on a Friday night despite how slow you are, hey at least she was there eating with her husband. I have never seen such terrible customer service and I have managed a couple of places. My boyfriend's dad was surprised as well and he is a restaurant owner. We told her we want something changed on the other bill (bf's dad's friend and wife) and at this point she kept being rude and arguing even ran away yelled at the server (not her fault) Finally, she came back and said that the board handles this and she cannot change it. We said you are the manager change it or at least offer SOMETHING or get someone on the phone who can! She then called the cops instead of the board and said I got a problem and hung up. Which insinuates she knew the cop on the phone since they magically knew all the information and came there, when she called in front of us. The husband, Russ gave her 100 told her to keep the change give it to the server or cook, because we just wanted to leave by then and never come back. Called her ma'am every time we spoke to her too! We finally got the name Karen.. As we are leaving the cops show up. One goes to her walks with her, hears her story and the Sheriff was with us and we all have the same story and can even go off of each other's comments. They asked for the men's Ids still and all came back clear, we left. Thanks NorthBrook for the most ridiculous service we have ever gotten! I have to say the cook spoke to us too and he was very nice and understanding, defended NorthBrook (loyal employee). He said I hope this doesn't reflect onto NorthBrook at all for you. It was a bad night, I never even got to eat and I've been really sick for two days. Something should be done about the management and administration in the restaurant.

After we booked the round the manager reached out to us to see if we were going to eat lunch after the round (customer service, what a novel idea!). The director of golf welcomed all four of our groups on the first tee. The on course drink service was first rate. Aside from all this superior customer service, the golf course is phenomenal and well maintained. We will be back!

In late July, the club did an "extra assessment" for renovations of approximately $8,000, which I paid because I didn't know about my diagnosis yet. With ALS, playing golf is no longer in the cards, so in November I called the club to end my membership. As the club had just started some of the renovations, I asked if they would consider returning even a portion of the $8,000. Keep in mind this is Not the non-refundable initiation fee - it's an "extra" assessment that I will never benefit from. I was told that the Board would consider it but after 3 weeks they decided NOT to return even a penny of the extra assessment. When my wife called a board member to discuss the member said that we have members die every year and the by-laws say no refunds ever. We have since found out that there aren't any terminal members like me, but that's a whole different story. Look - I understand charters and by-laws, but typically Boards have discretion to judge each situation on its own merit. I think I was expecting a little humanity as I confront the final chapter of my life and I received none. Great Course, Great Staff... Ruthless Board. I need to remove all stress from my life so I needed to write this and then be done.

The course had a lot of gnats. If bugs bother you, this is not the course for you. I have played courses with bugs, but on this course they were literally every where. I wouldn't mind giving this course another try when it is in better condition. It has a lot of potential.

I had the chicken that was covered in a gravy with potatoes and mushrooms. On the side were some string vegetables. Let's just say I cleaned my plate with no problem. One downside is the drinks were expensive. $6.50 for a 12 oz. bottle of Spotted Cow. I don't even want to know the costs for mixed drinks. In that venue they can get away with that pricing. County and very well manicured. The course itself has many hills and valleys along with the beautiful Sheboygan River that flows through it. There are many types of mature trees that line the fairways, and the grounds crew do a great job in keeping the course in top shape. Also, there is meticulous care and attention given to the lovely flowers and planting areas. The Club also has tennis courts, and great pool and kiddie pool. It also has a very good restaurant and is able to accommodate large weddings and parties. Pine Hills is a private country club with membership and annual dues. It is a wonderful place for families to be together, whether it be on the golf course, on the courts or in the pool. They also plan several social events for the members and their families. We have enjoy this club during our years as members.
