So I'm new to the area and I need to visit a dentist as its been a few years well maybe a couple…read more So I ask my neighbour for a recommendation and she practically sings "yes I do know a good dentist and I have been using them for years", so she runs upstairs and gets the business card and she says "you have to ask for 'Mayank'" make sure you ask for him, make sure, she tells me about 100 times, drilled it into my head. So I ring them up and do what she says, the appointment is all set, I turn up and I am quickly attended to, the dentist comes in and I have no idea if he is Mayank or not but he is very good, very gentle. He gives my teeth a check and amazingly says I only need a couple of small fillings, don't dentists always say you need about 50 of them. Anyway in 20 minutes I'm finished, no anaesthetic needed, I'm a brave girl. And when I go and pay, I ask the receptionist, was that Mayank, Yes it was Mayank, Oh thank god or my neighbour would have told me off I'm sure. Oh and very reasonable price too. If you need a dentist do come here, I think he also has a practice in Mairangi Bay.

A quarter of the way down I did a fantastic bail and face planted into the concrete. I got up and was disgusted to feel a roughness and emptiness where half my front tooth used to be! My friend, who was also only eight, told me not to worry as my tooth would grow back! (HA) Her mother was not so relaxed about the situation when we got back to her house. Anyway to cut a long story short I ended up here.. this small dentist in a cute little suburb just out of Browns Bay. Dr Steenkamp (Willy) fixed me all up good as new. Since then Willy has been my regular dentist and he has seen me through another 3 chips of that tooth (playground, bedroom cabinet, beer bottle) and eventually organised for me to go off and have a permanent crown put on that tooth to prevent yet another bloody chip. Overall great little practice. Very friendly receptionists at the front desk and reliable and quality treatment!

What a positive experience....for several reasons…read more Being a traveler, and not having a local dentist, it was great to have connected with and be seen by Dr. Sherriff. As it turned out, I required dental attention during the Christmas-New Year's holiday, when most dentists are on vacation (most don't return to work until mid-January). I was referred to Dr. Sherriff by another dentist who was already on vacation, yet knew Dr. Sherriff also operated an after-hours practice. I called up the office, and left my name and number on their voice messaging system. Within an hour, Rebecca, the Principal Nurse and Administration Manager returned my call and made an appointment for me for that afternoon. Dr. Sherriff was very patient and allowed me to explain the nature of my concern. He conducted an examination and took an x-ray of the affected area. There was never any pressure to speed through the examination and he was most professional throughout. In my earlier telephone conversation, I alerted Rebecca of the prescribed oral rinse that I used. To her credit, by the time I visted the Dentist, she had already researched the brand and its active ingredients for disclosure to the dentist. All in all, I would heartedly return for additional dental services, and would recommend this office to anyone.

Adam, the lead dentist here, is super nice, and never forces you into any treatment you don't feel comfortable with. He's also upfront about prices, and understands that most people are sensitive about how much dental treatment costs! I was talked to pretty harshly and condescending regarding my teeth brushing and flossing skills. I'm all for learning to perform better, but not when someone is being rude about it. Returned days after due to excruciating tooth pain afterwards, and they said I pretty much had no choice but to extract my tooth. This day and age, and given how old I am, I thought that sounded pretty prehistoric. I went somewhere else and received a second opinion, who thought that procedure was outrageous and provided other options. Thumbs down
