I was putting my kitty back in her carrier when I noticed the vet so kindly left my cat's paws to bleed out on their counter.
    Selina D.

This was my first visit to Northeast Vet. Hostpital. My kitty of nine years is a polydactyl and often gets ingrown nails. I wasn't able to get an appointment that worked with my schedule at the place I normally take her, and I was afraid of infection, so based on reviews I gave these guys a call. Kathy, one of the receptionists, helped me book my appointment next day (but not after speaking condescendingly of my indoor kitty not being neutered). When I went in for my appointment, I waited patiently at the desk because both Kathy and Erin were either on the phone or helping other people. Kathy finished her phone call, and then proceeded to not help me, but sit there and sort of mumble to herself about something? Not sure exactly what was going on there, and that's okay. Erin helped me check in. After I sat down at the bench directly in front of the desk, Kathy turns to Erin and says something along the lines of, "What was that girl doing? They're not together? I was wondering why she was standing there -" Yes, please just talk about me as I sit here in front of you. God forbid you ask if you could help me with something as I stood in line! I'm not even going to waste my time describing the details of the un-professionalism that I witnessed while waiting in the exam room. Whatever common room/office that is behind the exam doors is NOT soundproof. Again, EVERYBODY in the exam rooms can hear you. I didn't wait long, but it was long enough with that noise. Not to mention I had a terrified cat with me - Aren't you supposed to be animal people? Don't animal people understand that loud noises (particularly shrieking, slamming doors) scare small animals? Don't animal people understand that cats bite and scratch when they're scared, and that dogs poop? I can't understand why, in an animal hospital, I was hearing these teenage girls complain like no other about these trivial things (and much more!). The vet/dr seemed knowledgeable and was able to help fix up my kitty in a matter of minutes, which relieved me. She said her goodbyes and left the exam room, so I was putting my kitty back in her carrier when I noticed that this woman so kindly just left my cat's paws to bleed out on their counter. I took a picture because the care that goes into this place is truly laughable. Being the kind of person I am, I was grinning and bearing it all through this visit. If my kitty gets an infection from the open wounds she was left with, I will be back, a lot less kind. Two stars for price (which was reasonable given the next day appointment) and the fact that the initial cause for my visit technically was resolved.

Mr Pinchers home and doing well thanks to the staff at Northeast Veterinary Hospital!

    Average grooming costs (cat)?

I don't believe they do grooming. Try Lindas Critter Coral in Lynn. I take my 3 dogs there and I think they do cats as well.

REPOST: original post was deleted…read more My boyfriend and I took Archer, our 1 year old Bernese mtn/Pitbull mix to Kissable Paws July 9th for the first time. Right off the bat, Maria (the owner) was patient with us as Archer would not go inside. I came in to tell her that we would just cancel the appointment as there was no way we can get him in. Maria came outside and tried everything she could to get him in. But with no luck. Archer did like her so that was a good thing. We were recommended to give him a calming meds and rescheduled for the following week. Prior to Kissable Paws, we were taking Archer to Petco for his grooming needs. The last few times were not successful as Archer was more than scared like he was terrified to go inside like something bad had happened. So glad we found Kissable Paws, Maria and her assistant Julia. They are the most patient people and I'm glad that Archer is comfortable with them! Our second try was every bit successful! Maria was ready and she got Archer inside. He saw that there was nothing to be scared of and he got so excited, he just wanted to go in the waiting area with the other cute doggies! As for the grooming itself, Maria has a lot of experience taking care of difficult dogs that other groomers simply reject. She was able to wash him, cut his nails, dry him and trim him (in places other groomers couldn't!) Maria and Julia took care of Archer in a loving and patient way that my boyfriend and I truly appreciated. Kissable Paws is definitely our exclusive grooming salon! Will 100% recommend them to everyone we know with doggies and cats (which we will definitely have to come in and bring them one of these days) :)

I spent last month in NC with my dogs, and while I was there I got his nails done and they barely cut them at all! Most of his nails are clear and his quicks aren't that long so I'm not sure why there was such a difference between the results, but we went back to Kissable Paws two days ago and his nails are back to their normal length now. We were also in and out in under 10 minute which was great.

See 2017 update below…read more I have been taking my dog here for a few years now. The owner is the kindest, caring groomer you will find. She loves each and every dog and works very hard. She is extremely accommodating if you have an emergency need, as well. Just be upfront with the owner if you need your dog back by a certain time. She is a very nice person and truly enjoys what she does. Update 2017. I have switched groomers. After numerous years taking my dog here, the owner took an absolute nutty on me. The problem, she takes toooooo many dogs at once and tries to accommodate everyone. However, it's not right to keep a dog 7 plus hours and keep a customer waiting, and then yell at them when they come to pick up the dog at the time your told to and then get angry at you because your frustrated that the dog still isn't ready. I could never go back after being treated so badly. I was a loyal customer for 5 plus years. She was good to my dog, but her abuse towards me was unacceptable. She desperately needs some time off and to stop over bookings. It doesn't help anyone. Unfortunately the groomer is not being honest in their response to my comments. Again, there is no excuse for the owner to scream and yell at a longstanding customer because she overbooks and keeps dogs and their owners waiting 7+ hours. She works very hard, and loves the dogs, but this behavior is a result of her being burnt out. It was very uncalled for and disturbing.

Such great service and attention to detail. Groomer also noticed a growth on my dog which I…read moreotherwise may not have noticed and brought to my vets attention. Highly recommend!!

Ugh. We decided to try this place again, and hadn't been back since the whole closure and…read morethe-opening. It was a truly awful experience today. My husband and I took our two basset hounds in at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, January 20 to do self washes. A worker there informed us, despite the fact we were the only customers in the store, that we could not put one dog in each of the store sinks, and that we could either wash both dogs in one sink together, or only one dog in a single sink at a time, but could not occupy two separate sinks with tow persons to wash the two dogs. I asked the worker "aren't we paying per dog"? Which of course they said we would be, but they refused to allow us to use both sinks because "it would mean the next customer who would come in would find both sinks in use use and would have to wait"! Now, I realize the person working isn't a rocket scientist, but considering how it would then take us twice as long to wash the dogs, I didn't see the negative impact one way or the other, especially since it was a feeling cold winter afternoon and the place was deserted at the time. We politely left and refused to use this store for that or any future business, and I would discourage you from using Wag N Wash in Beverly based on how rude they were to us when we were, in fact, the only customers in the store. We headed to the Natural Dog in Danvers, where their staff was very friendly and we used their self wash and the person working was very nice and we had a great experience! Wag N' Wash in Beverly was once a great place to go, and it was always busy at the self wash. I would never set foot in that place again now, and I would urge you to look elsewhere for self wash. find some more deserving business like the Natural Dog to spend your money.
