Me leaving said gyno office: *calls husband* "Ohmygod listen to how wonderful the guy who just examined my vagina is!!" Y'all, his name is Dr. Williams, and he is an extraordinary, hilarious, very friendly, very kind, good listening, upright-bass playing in a jazz band, biologist, obstetrician/gynecologist, professor of biology, did I mention hilarious, wise, wonderful man. If any of my lady friends in the area have also had to search for a new gynecologist due to so many in the area no longer accepting Anthem insurance, just go see Dr. Williams at Chesapeake Regional Gynecology and Obstetrics. You will not be sorry. After all the new patient paperwork, I did not have to wait long and for the first time during any pap smear I laughed more than I cringed.:-) This was after he spent 15 minutes getting to know me, his new patient, in his office... Asking the right questions, listening to my concerns. A kind female nurse was also present for the exam.

They have a rotation of all women doctors and nurse practitioners that you'll see, and I never saw the same one twice. I absolutely loved two that I met, Dr. Randolph and FNP. Javier. Both kind, didn't rush our appointments, answered all my questions, and it felt like they genuinely cared. I can say there were two that I absolutely disliked, from their condescending attitudes to their awful bedside manners. I thankfully never saw them again, and neither were on rotation for my birth. Dr. Butts, whom I didn't see during my pregnancy, delivered my baby. She was great. Very calm, and professional. I actually really liked her, and I'm glad she was the one who delivered my baby. I had a great experience. The front desk girls are helpful and kind, and though some were training, they immediately went and asked others for help when they weren't sure. When trying to make an appointment or reach the office, I wouldn't try calling after 4, because very rarely did I get someone to answer.

I came in because I am transferring my OB/GYN doctors because my amazing physician, Dr. Pamela Smith retired. I came in to request that my medical records be transferred to the new doctor. The ladies were so helpful. They presented me with the form and asked me questions about what information I might need right away (I waited until a few days before my new doctor appointment to come ask for the records transfer - my fault). They gave me copies of the test I needed and said they would transmit the electronic medical record to my new doctor by the end of the business day. We chatted nicely, and they wished me well. I wish that I could keep coming here. I love their positive attitudes and kind, caring personalities. A true blessing to women seeking specialized OB/GYN care.

Another reviewer gave a 2-star review due to their wait time. Personally, I'd much rather go to a doctor who is willing to go above & beyond their set appointment time with me and others if needed than one who rigidly observes time slots for appointments with few if any exceptions. For those where time is of the essence, you can always opt to schedule the first appointment of the day or bring work or study with you to be productive while in the waiting room. I always do the latter & sometimes opt for the former with another doctor I have (not Western Branch) in another field of practice who is not characterized by rigid observance of time slots no matter their patients' needs. My wife & I have never felt the need to get an early appointment at Western Branch & never had the wait time the other reviewer experienced, while we have experienced time there where we were seen for more time than is likely standard for our appointment even at short notice.

Very Disappointed in the customer service & treatment we received & today at OBXWC. My Wife is a…read morepatient there & until today has had nothing but praise for Doctor Dwyer. She has had an issue going on for about a month, hoping that it would get better. She made an appointment & saw Dr. Molina they did some blood work which came back ok & called her in a hormone script to stop the issue which it did not.. They scheduled her for another appointment to do an ultrasound with her normal OBGYN, Dr. Dwyer. A couple days later they did the U.S. but no additional testing. After 2 visits they couldn't explain what was causing her issue. Even though they didn't do ANY additional testing, if you don't know the cause how can you treat it? Dr. Dwyer was going to call a script in & it was $230, by the time they called it in & we got a call from the Pharmacy the office was closed. She called at 9:30AM the next day to see if they had a generic & they didn't get back to us until 4:15 that afternoon. they had a generic but wouldn't be in until the next afternoon late. The problem got worse that evening my wife debating on going to the hospital & called the office Dr. Molina was oncall wife asked about other tests & procedures they could run. My wife's Mom runs a OBGYN office in VA who advised her to ask a few questions. Wife was courteous & apologetic about calling Dr. Molina but she was really getting worried. She advised if she waited until morning Dr. Dwyer would see her 1st thing. Went to the office at opening after calling a few patients back there was only 1 person in the waiting room. The nurse called us back, & for some reason she wouldn't even look at me, but told us that Doctor Dwyer WOULD NOT SEE HER this morning. He wanted her to take the script still on order before anything else was done. I asked her if she understood the volume of the issue with the problem & she advised us to go to the emergency room.. WTF I guess when you are the only OBGYN in town you can have substandard customer service. Very disappointed & frustrated is an understatement. If you take an oath to help people & if you can't take 5-10 mins to talk to your patient personally about a serious issue they are seeing you for? GET ANOTHER JOB because obviously you are more interested in turning those easy patients for money then helping someone who really needs it. I won't ever let my wife go back to this office & I will tell everyone here on the OBX of our experience here & how she was treated .
