Western inspired clothing and gifts made this the perfect stop for carnival week, which happened to have the theme of "Wild, Wild West." This place has everything from western clothing, belt buckles, hats (one of which was graciously purchased for me by my fellow yelper Dawn-- loves her!), and they even had a very anatomically incorrect pre-Columbian fertility statue. The staff and owner made this one of my favorite stops during my entire trip. We laughed and laughed for a good amount of time with the staff, a welcome respite from the stuffy, holier-than-thou shopkeepers and retail staff found in a few of the other Provincetown establishments. I feel this is a must stop while in P-town and it is also lesser known since it has only been open for five weeks. Do yourself a favor and mosey on down the walkway next to Patio and venture into the little shop. Say hello to the owner and smile, they will do the rest and make sure you have a pleasurable shopping experience. Cid and Francesca started Cape Art Tiles in 2009 in their basement, as suppliers of printed tiles to local artists. Over the last decade the company has grown to include both a retail shop and a production studio in Provincetown, MA. It's a great gift shop, featuring "costume jewelry" (I hate that term, but it's not gold & diamonds), but also with beautiful silk lampshades ( I've bought many over the years for my B&B inn Boston), art glass, mirrors, hair accessories (the only "clips" I've found that hold my long hair up without tearing it), little cute boxes, figurines, etc. I've been shopping there for years and I have never walked out without a bag in hand!
