There are a few hardware stores in the Provincetown area, but I think this is the largest. It is also located right on Commercial St, so it's easy to stop in before or after a meal or a shopping trip. Their private parking lot is large and convenient as well. Inside, you would fin anything you will find at any other ACE Hardware store, patio furniture, paint supplies, grills, screws, hammers, filters, etc. The guys I deal with while shopping were nice and knowledgeable. read more

When we got to our hotel in Ptown, I realized I left my phone charger on my dresser back home. I set myself to charge my phone in hubs' car 'every night'- but that thought wasn't gonna fly. Especially when I use a lot of battery life for online shopping, reading The Times, Pinterest, previewing YouTube strength training videos and of course Yelp. I could've charged my phone if my hotel room had a wireless charging station- but they don't. I could've asked for a loaner charger at my hotel (if they even had one)- but I didn't. We could've gone to the nearest CVS a short drive way- but did not. This Land's End Marine Supply (part of the True Value family) on Commercial St, however, came to the rescue the following morning we got in town. As in their 'Marine Supply' name, there are lots of fishing poles and other maritime items for sale. Tried to support our local businesses, but unfortunately the 'Big Box' store wins. Went to Lands End Marine Supply yesterday to buy a grille. Found a great one and asked if I could buy it assembled (yes) and if they delivered to my town (Truro). Lady on phone had told me yes when I called before going, but clerks said they didn't know and to call next day to speak to manager. When I called today to do so (finally getting through after recordings said they were closed for the first hour they were open) the manager Rick said they only delivered as far as a mile into Truro. I mean, this place has everything. Red solo cups, those little propane tanks for your portable grille, pride flags, a hostess gift.... You name it, they probably got it. *If you are looking for info on hardware and like drill bits you'll need to keep looking as I got nothing for you! We stopped in for a mini propane tank and left excited to return as we saw really cute ceramic coffee mugs with various nautical prints on them. In and out and very reasonably priced. read more

Most of the time they have a very small selection of items and I've had to drive to Hyannis Home Depot. So.....call ahead if your looking for building supplies and home repair items. Of the 2 hardware stores in Ptown, I like this one. This has a marine aspect to it so you can get marine, boating, RV supplies. I do not belive they sel lumber here. You can find that at Conwell Lumber. Staff are super nice & helpful. Store is very clean and well laiid out. read more

I love this place. It can become one of your best friends if you are staying in Provincetown for 2 full weeks straight (one of the few times straight will appear in a Provincetown review). We had 6 people staying in the townhouse, yet were only left 3 keys, they solved that. If you need anything from a blender to an inflatable bed to an alarm clock to a fishing pole to a cooler to a pride flag to a lawn chair to an alarm clock to an axe (hey it is Provincetown, you may need one for a "Mommie Dearest" costume contest) to a... well you get the idea. Pretty much anything you need that there isn't a specialty store for in town, they probably are the best place to find it. My friend that was staying with us one time even ran out of watercolors and tried buying some from an artist in the gallery district and they sent him there-- they actually have a good sized section just for art supplies! Whodda thunk it?!?! They even have printed on their receipts that they are Provincetown's largest department store, though I wouldn't go there for fashion or accessories. Unless Crocs, rope bracelets with beads spelling out 'Cape Cod,' or fishing waders come into fashion that year. So we have been patronizing this store for as long as I can remember. I've never had a bad experience with customer service, and have always been able to find whatever it is I'm looking for. However, I must extend my gratitude to Jeremy for fixing our screen door. I brought my puppy to my dad's house in North Truro, and through no fault of her own, she ended up ripping the front screen door (this is the ONE thing my dad is extremely anal about, which is why he doesn't want dogs in the house and has been resistant to letting kids inside!!!). So, when my boyfriend and I shlepped into this place Saturday morning, begging for some reprieve, Jeremy came through. Not only did he fix the screen for us, but he delivered it. Suffice to say he saved our weekend... and perhaps our ability to use my dad's house freely. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for stepping up, and going above and beyond. After years of being a customer, I've just made my last transaction with Lands End. As a homeowner in the area who rents out the property in the summer months, it was always reassuring to know that when a guest reports something broken such as a household electronic, I could order replacements over the phone and have them delivered (I live far away and can't do this myself). With the last few transactions I've made with them -- ordering a blender, toaster, or BBQ grill -- the attitude of the people on the other end of the phone has made me feel like I'm a huge burden, not a customer. On my penultimate transaction, they said they don't deliver to North Truro (they always had before to Beach Point -- just over the border from Provincetown), and when I asked to have a receipt emailed to me (which had never been a problem in the past), I was met with a sigh and made to feel like I was asking them to lay a golden egg. With today's transaction, the salesperson refused to consider emailing me a receipt and mumbled something incoherent about his manager (on whom he also blamed the refusal to deliver the appliance I had just paid for to our property manager in Provincetown, not even North Truro). When I reminded him that this had never been a problem in the past, he hung up on me. I won't even go into the time it took me three trips to make sure the window shades I bought from them were cut to the correct width, or the times that copies of keys didn't work... Other than the occasional friendly cashier, by and large this store has an unhappy, unmotivated workforce. Conwell, here I come. Hopefully they will know the value of a customer. read more

I shop here several times a week and they are always very helpful. I think any negative reviews must be attributed to "Augustitis" a malady Provincetowners get as a result of being subjected to months of relentless, demanding tourists. It sort of gets wearisome by mid-summer, and everyone's patience wears a bit thin. But this store is beautifully organized, carries a wide range of supplies, and is not ( for P'town) overpriced. A+ , and if you are courteous and polite to the staff, they are friendly and most attentive to your needs. read more

I suggest that everyone also read the other numerous negative reviews for this business below. Called to inquire if they had a specific size of rainbow flag in stock since I purchased some last Summer here and I asked a friend to pick one up while vactioning there yesterday. Once I explained to this employee (I think he sounded like an older gentleman) that I was looking to confirm the availability of a certain size rainbow flag for pickup today he became abrupt and refused to give me his name ( I gave mine) and said he did not know anything about the flags. I asked him to please put someone on the phone that was familiar with the merchandise and only then did he reluctantly minimally assist with the inquiry. Still refused to give his name. In my opinion If he did not want to give his name he should be bright enough to at least make one up and not be rude. Not sure if this behavior was a demonstration of homophobia (hard to believe if you want to keep customers in Provincetown) but in any event I think this business needs to re-educate thier employees regarding proper customer service. If this behavior is tolerated by management I think I will follow the advice of the numerous other negative reviews below and use the other hardware stores in town. Do you need a duplicate key done? Run away from this place! Seriously, do it! Go to Conwell Ace Hardware, not far from Lands End. I had a duplicate key done here and it got stuck inside the key hole. I called them and had one of their staff try to get the key out unsuccessfully. "Sorry, there is nothing else we can do to fix this." - "You mean, the problem you got myself in, in the first place!" In sum, I had to call a locksmith to break down the entire lock, put a new lock and the bill that should be about $3 (for a new key) became $120 (new lock and locksmith services), not to mention my entire afternoon/evening dealing with this. When contacting the owner, not only he blamed the lock (after a report from the locksmith specifically mentioning the reason why the lock was broken - bad cut duplicate key). Apparently he also forgot the fact that every previous key worked; and that their key broke the lock in THE VERY FIRST TIME IT WAS USED. Besides blaming the lock, the owner had the audacity of telling me that I've taken too much of his time with this issue. Yes, that's right, he was concerned about the time I took from him, ... Like he was the victim in all this. I just wished Yelp had 0 stars available, because 1 star review is being too nice to them. read more
