While the resort has obviously been short staffed post pandemic--our check-in was delayed quite a bit and the restaurant service was a bit slow--the staff was absolutely wonderful...kind, genuine, and hard working. It was really great to see this kind of team work even through what has to be a frustrating time for them. Be patient, folks, they'll get back to where they need to be. Management has no idea how to communicate, how to be appreciative of those who do their job and then more, don't have to be asked to do the dirty work, isn't on their phones throughout business times with personal calls, on dating apps or standing around discussing personal lives or personal drama. The owner and GM don't care about nothing, except the mighty dollar and who sucks up to them the best! I gave everything I had to only be fed a line of bullshit for my termination. Came up here last week with a family group of about 30 people total. Rented six cabins right on…read morethe lake. It was LOVELY!! beach and heated pool came in clutch for the littles in our group. Cabins are clean with a kitchen stocked with most of the equipment you'd need. Thrift store in town had anything we were missing. Fishing boats, pontoons, jet skis, paddle boats all available. Owners are a young couple, very chill and friendly but not in your face. Will be going back next year for sure.

Comparing this to where we used to stay is like night and day. We rented a small boat and it suited us perfectly for the week, although it was somewhat comical to get charged extra for seats! The boat docks are nice although they don't have any lifts and the water gets pretty shallow over there, but thankfully there are not a ton of rocks so your prop should be fine. The fish house is nice and clean considering what goes on in there. They have a heated swimming pool on site and a little beach area that was real popular with the younger kids staying at the resort. This is a great place for a family getaway and/or a fishing expedition!

They were very busy and for us to have the order put in would've been almost nearly another hour to wait. We had to get grandpa some food as he was crashing fast. Fortunately the barbecue place next-door save the day and got us food quickly. Used to really enjoy the otter and everybody there is very friendly. However no offer to cover or discount our appetizer onion rings and a couple of cocktails we had ordered while we were waiting for the food for again nearly 2 hours. Not exactly the kind of Customer Service I expect when I'm in the Midwest. I will say the onion rings were delicious but since that's the only thing we were able to try that's all I can say and that is where the two stars come from. New Owners really improve resort!…read more We had gone to this fishing resort a few years ago but hadn't been back, but decided to try it again. The resort has really improved. The new owners have spruced up all the cabins, and our cabin was very clean with what looked like all new linens. The view out the window of the lake is beautiful. The fishing was great and then we relaxed in the evening at the fire pit outside our cabin. The owners were great and helpful but not intrusive. We will definitely be back.
