I would give them less than one star if I could. I walked in there today with $150 worth of melt value sterling silver. Was I expecting to get the full melt value...NO. Was l expecting a reasonable offer...YES. The lady offered me $66! LESS THAN HALF OF THE MELT VALUE. She gave me some BS song and dance about how they could not pay more because everyone sold all their silver and brought the price down! Really? The melt value is what it is daily. It doesn't matter if everyone sold all their silver! What a load of coddwallop! I've always used Norther Nevada Coin but lately - with the spike in pricing they seem to have gotten a little piggy - I totally understand that most gold isn't pure or even near and silver is usually around .925 and can go up and down in purity but their fee/cut when you sell on the last two stops seems richer - maybe not double but 1.5X higher than maybe 6 months ago. I agree with the prior review of the older lady with the personality of a wet fart that sits over to the side - in my work I sell a lot of scrap and she doesn't seem to know her stuff (I took at least 20 grams of 10k gold and 6 ounces of Sterling she declined to the place at S Virginia by the Ski place and they bought it right away using a machine that put out a purity count) read more

I used to go to both this location and the Carson City about once a month until a few years ago when I relocated, the service was always stellar and the employees and I knew each other by name. A few months ago I went into the Carson City location and the service was still great. Then yesterday, I stopped by the Reno location for the first time in what seemed like forever. The kid I dealt with didn't even want to let me look through the silver rounds, he would just pull a couple out for me to look at. I was frustrated and said I would just take the two. He thought I was done and asked if it would be cash or card, I said I'm not done because I was getting more annoyed by his attitude. Only when I asked to see the foreign one ouncers did he loosen up a little and I mentioned that I'd been a customer for several years. Honestly, I wish I had just left without buying anything. I was ready to pay higher premiums and shipping through online stores. Don't judge a book by its cover, he clearly had the wrong opinion of me and as such, NNC has lost a longtime customer who used to recommend the stores to friends and family. The prices here are astronomical. 2 bucks over spot is not fair... I'm not sure where they get their spot prices, but they are marked so far above spot that you're not saving money when you come here, you're basically paying their rent. I can get a price on anything in the store just about instantaneously, however when I asked what the buy price was... it was like I asked them for their children's social security number. Stuttering answers where they buy at a buck below spot, the mysteriously moving spot price they love to shift. Save your time, get your precious metals somewhere else, unless you want to put your hard earned money into stupid commercials and real estate rental profits...
