They did unauthorized work which caused them to spend numerous hours working on and cost me several hundred dollars more. I left my car on sunday for a MONDAY APPT. They didnt START working on my car until WEDNESDAY. I finally got my car back on THURSDAY. Original estimate was $600.00. The final bill was $1,600.00 I told them I live off of social security, but, they kept adding to the bill. The a/c they "fixed" broke one week later, again. read more

Dropped off our 2013 Ford Escape to have a misfire fixed, they said it was a timing issue. We told them to go ahead and fix it. They kept the vehicle over a month, charged me almost $2,000, and didn't even fix it, not even close!! They took our money, and handed us the keys and pretty much said sorry for your luck! Horrible place to take your vehicle! They will straight up Robb you!! They even left spare bolts laying on the cowl screen! One star is too high for this garage! read more

What a wonderful place! A friend recommended them for my 1990 Chevy Lumina (don't laugh, it's paid for) when I needed a bunch of little things done. Turn signals, a driver's side front door window, inspection, etc. Great, dealership-trained mechanics, without dealership hassles and prices. And they COMMUNICATE with me, without talking down to me because I am a female. What a plus! read more

The only reason this place gets 2 stars is because Chris is an excellent mechanic. Every time I needed service, he helped me out. The lady that answers the phone has an attitude, always tells me it's gonna be almost a week, if not a week or more before I can get my vehicle taken in for service. So I called yet again today to see if my vehicle can be serviced, and she tells me it'll be next Friday before my vehicle can be serviced. I've told her that she told me it would be today last week before my vehicle could be serviced, and she told me I never requested to be wrote down. I told her almost every time I asked to be wrote down, she told me to just bring it in on this specific day. So I told her straight up she's been nothing but a problem since forever. The receptionist's attitude is poor, her communication sucks, and she never asks for me to be wrote down. Gee whiz, I shouldn't have to tell a middle aged receptionist to write me down, you should be asking me that. I called Mount Airy Tire & Automotive today, and the receptionist there was much more professional, had a much better attitude, asked for me to be wrote down (obviously I said yes), and was specific about when I can bring my vehicle in for service, so i'll be taking my business there from here on out. For anyone that wants good service, great communication, and professionalism, stay away from Northern Star Garage! I'll never do business there again. This garage is a great place to take a vehicle for repair. The lady at the desk Brandy is so nice and makes you feel welcome the minute you walk in the door. Our vehicle was checked out and they called us within a short time to let us know the problem. Repairs were reasonable and finished on time. We would recommend this garage to anyone. read more
