Nov 20 2024 we are pulling a motorcycle trailer on highway 52. Someone alerted us that we had a tire problem... our tire had blown and we were on a very small 4 lane with hardly any shoulder area. We were a mile from an exit and chose to drive to the exit. We looked up tire places and thank GOD we found Stokes tire shop.. talk about a gift from God! My car needed to be checked out due to some issues this past year. Had to have it towed to Stokes Tire. Actually, my car needed to be worked on twice this year regarding two separate issues. This place is great! Spoke with quite a few employees here and everyone is so helpful and so kind. When I had any questions I got the answers I needed. They explained exactly what they were going to do and why it was necessary. Plus, I wasn't charged a huge bill. Fair price and my car runs great! I typically do my own vehicle maintenance and repairs. My 13 year old car had a cylinder misfire. The car is also notorious for its difficult to change spark plugs and wires. I decided to let a pro handle it instead of struggling in the summer heat. I'm glad I did. Not only did I find the price to be extremely reasonable, but the quality of the work stood out to me. For years I've used the various Mock places any time my car needed work. I needed an oil change this morning, so I went to the local Stokes Tire and Automotive in King, NC. They open at 7:30, so I arrived and handed over my keys at 7:15. They said it would be an hour. No problem. It is now 10:00, and my car just came out. Moved to the King, NC area in 2011. Stopped in to Stokes Automotive and Tire in King to get an oil change and tire rotation. When the bill was written out there was no charge for rotating my tires. I told them i did not buy them there. They said that did not matter and there was no charge for rotating my tires. I have never gone anywhere else since. They provide honest estimates. They do not offer or recommend unnecessary services. In fact, they also told me I didn't need new brakes during one visit. I was getting new tires and said to change the brakes as well. I go a call and was told that they had more than 50% life left and that they did not need to be changed, but would still do so if needed. Of course, I did not have them change them. I just had the worst experience with this place, I was getting only two tires on my vehicle and everything was wrong. The price they quoted me on the phone was suddenly higher when paying, and the time estimate of 30-45 minutes turned into over 3 hours. I will NOT be returning to this place, and I recommend others to also avoid it. I totally understand if a job will take 3 hours - but at least quote me 3 hours rather then 45 minutes, then another 45 minutes, then "should be finished any time" for the next 90 minutes. read more

I had my wife take her car to these "tire guys" because she had a leak in her tire and she has an Altima that you can only use Nitrogen to fill the tires. She took it there and was told by the genius helping her that he was just going to put "air" in it until she gets it fixed. I actually had to call them to understand just why they didn't check the tire for leaks and why in the hell they put air in a nitrogen tire? They lied up and down about the service and told me that my wife told them to put air in the tire. I said she didn't and even if she did would you have put cream cheese in it if she told you to do so?? I had to tell them what their job is and when a tire has the green caps it means to put nitrogen in the tire...not air. Won't be going to these morons again. read more
